“Mother of the coast talk to me , I’m am ready to do whatever you ask of me”

This Vera kept repeating as she looked at the wall just before her like there was somebody standing there .

“Vera ! Who are you talking to ?

Kelvin her immediate elder brother asked.

“Nobody! I’m talking to myself!! Why did you come into my room without knocking? Now go out !!!

Kelvin was eleven old , three years older than Vera. And he wasn’t to be bullied by his younger sister.

” I knocked you didn’t reply , who is Coast of the mother ? You’re begining to scare the hell out of me”.

Vera stared at kelvin in a demonic way that sent fear down his spine.

” Even if I tell you , you won’t believe me , daddy doesn’t believe me , mummy doesn’t believe me too”.

Kelvin became scared ,afraid of his sister .

” I am a witch ! Miss Imini initiated me she gave me a candy , after I ate it I started flying “.

“Are you kidding me Vera?

“No Kelvin I’m not joking , see them asking me to shut up “.

Kelvin ran out of the room . He ran to his mom’s room .

“Mummy come and hear what Vera is saying, she’s saying she’s been initiated “.

His mum didn’t act surprised.

” Kelvin don’t worry yourself about Vera! She’s just having a phase , being imaginative”.

“Mum I don’t think she’s joking, or imagining mum, she was talking to some people in the room.”

Mrs Susan was not moved.

” Kelvin go to bed , I’ve seen worst situation than this in the hospital.”

Kelvin went to his room discouraged and told his elder brother Victor . Victor Spoke to his dad he too couldn’t do anything because his wife didn’t believe In witchcraft.

Kelvin started avoiding Vera he refused to go Into her room for anything, or sit next to her in the car.

Mrs Imini was still coming to teach Vera . Mr Adie became furious at his wife asked his wife to end her contract , she would not listen but when she saw how serious he was it she terminated the contract with Miss Imini and paid her off, for peace to reign in her marriage.

“Kelvin empty the content of your pocket now !!

Emaka the school Bully was at his job again , abusing and bullying junior boys . He has been found of hharassing Kelvin since they resumed at the new school. Vera ran into him bullying her brother .

” Emaka what are you doing to my brother ?

Emaka gave her a hateful and belittling look as though she was a cockroach he would crush .

“You’re very stupid for asking me that useless question, I’m bottle feeding your brother. Get out from here before I crush you like a cockroach”

Vera was getting mad .

“Leave my brother alone and let him go “.

Emaka who was a big boy of fifteen and an SS2 boy felt insulted that somebody from JSS1 could talk to him in such a manner, he put down kelvin, ran towards Vera to go manhandle her . Immediately kelvin ran away leaving Emaka and Vera.

Emaka was running full Of anger at top speed to go and brutalize Vera , when suddenly her her turned to that of a lion. With her eyes she suspended Emaka in the air and began to pull his internal organs as if she was going to rip it . Emaka was scared he peed on himself.

“Please don’t kil… Kill .. ki . Ki me”. He wept like a little girl .

Vera heard some voices coming towards that corner , she put him down released him with a warning.

” If you ever go near my brother , I’ll kill you and decapitate your body like sausage. And if any human hears about this ,I’ll come to your house in block two house number ten at Jaro estate and kill everyone and everything that breathes in your house

Immediately his legs touched the ground Emaka ran like a mad man to his class far away from the little girl. The girls laughed at Emaka , because he was visibly shaken , he was a known bully in the school.

They were confused when they saw Vera in the lonely corner kelvin ran out from.

“Vera Miss Imini wants to see you in her office right now!”

The ss2 girl was a member of the black night coven that Imini and Vera belonged to . Miss Imini had initiated about fifty students from the Crownford secondary school .

” Who is she to call me ? I’m not going go back to her and tell her if she wants to see me , she knows my desk and classroom”.

Vera walked off from the senior student .

“Hey Vera I said come back here!

Miss Imini came by herself and took Vera to her office .

“Vera!! What was that show for ? Are you stupid or something? Why must you use your power in public ! You were almost discovered by the students , I’ll not take…”

Vera did not allow her land . She was so furious that papers in Miss Imini’s office started flying here and there from the table , computer and keyboard flew from the table The light went off , the school building shoke as Vera spoke .

“You’ll not take what? I’m not answerable to you! I’m not your subject you’re not the Queen mother! The next time you call me again to talk trash would be your last .I never asked you to take me to your coven! Whatever I do you’ll stay away from me ! Or you’ll regret the candy you gave me .”

She the door opened on it’s own for Vera to go out . And then banged itself shut after she passed . Then the computer and keyboard arranged themselves back on the table , the papers stacked themselves back on the files . And the light was restored .

Mrs Imini was terrified of her prodigy. Vera wssnt just a common one , the power she manifested was too much for her age and rank in the kingdom.

Mrs Susan had to pass through the school and pick her children, Afrikstories since the kid’s driver took their car to the mechanic for servicing. While driving on home at a traffic light at Wuse market some police men stopped her SUV claiming she beat the previous light .

“Officers I didn’t beat the light , it was yellow when I passed “.

The police men were infuriated but by her argument.

” So you’re calling us blind ? Like we cannot see ? I said you beat the light!!! Madam come down come and meet our oga.”

Mrs Susan came down and wanted to explain to the officer who asked her not to speak.

“Madam you have to bring twenty thousand naira or we impound your vehicle!”

Vera heard everything from the vehicle, she came down from the front sit where she was sitting next to her mum who was driving . She looked at the police men with an angry look .

Her mum was seeing her real face , but the police men were seeing a face of a roaring lion on a giant woman .

” You’ll let my mom go now !”

She said . In panic the police gave Mrs Susan her car keys , Vera walked back silently to the vehicle and sat down .

“Jesus oh nothing person no go see for road !! One of the police men exclaimed

” Magnus una see waiting I see ? That pikin Waka reach here she turn to giant fat woman with lion head and fire for eyes , the mama no even fear !! After she ordered us she turn back to small pikin and waka go sidon for motor like nothing happen?”

Another of the police men chipped in

“Haaa me I have never seen this kind of broad daylight witchcraft. Oga abeg permit me I want close work for today the one I see e done do me .”

Mrs Susan was confused about what gave her daughter such confidence.

“Baby what made you talk to the police or ordered them to give me the car keys ?

Her brothers were looking at her to get a response.

“Because they’re evil.”

Mrs Susan drove the vehicle home in silence.
