Nate’s POV

After we left Diana’s parents mansion, I, Lillian, Joan and Paul headed to the airport in a taxi cab that I ordered that morning. On the taxi ride to the airport, Lillian exclaimed o shit! I asked her what was wrong. She said that she came to New York and she didn’t see her mother and brother. I asked her for her address and she gave it to me and I realised that it was on the route to the airport. I told her not to worry that we would stop bye to say hi and she asked me wouldn’t we be late for our flight? I told her that that’s one of the perks of private aviation and she asked what do you mean? I told her that when you own a private jet, the flight takes off whenever you’re ready and she said oh now I get it. Then I told her you know it’s not only the two of us on this journey and I added you are going to have to ask the others. Then she said to Joan and Paul hay guys I’d like to go see my mum and brother before we return to DC if that’s okay with you both? Joan welcomed the idea but Paul was more sceptical but Joan convinced him and by this time we were just a few blocks from Lillian’s house and when we got there I told the driver to stop the car and we got down from the vehicle.

Before leaving the car I went to the driver’s window and told him to give us 30 minutes and we would be out. We walked into the house and Lillian said is anyone home? Her brother said come on in and we walked in. We found him getting ready for school and Lillian asked him so where’s mum? He was about to answer when the woman walked out of where I presumed was the kitchen with a glass plate in her hand and Lillian went to her mother and gave her a hug and she said oh mum you haven’t met because her mother was giving me the scary eyes and she went on to introduce us by saying mum meet my friend Nathaniel Malcolm and this is Joan’s boyfriend Paul Davis and she added Paul’s an agent with the FBI. The woman said nice to meet you and Lillian added Nate and Paul meet my mother and we exchanged handshakes with her and said it’s nice to meet you too. Just then her brother said mum I’m off to school and Lillian said oh almost forgot that there was someone else in the room and she introduced us to her brother saying Paul and Nate meet my youngest brother Henry and she said Henry meet my friends Paul and Nate and her mother asked why are you here? She continued I mean I thought you would be in school right now. Lillian went on to explain to her that we came to see Diana because she got shot yesterday and the plate she was holding fell out of her hand and shattered into pieces and she asked is she okay? With her hand over her mouth. Lillian said she was okay and that luckily for her she was wearing a bulletproof vest at the time of the attack. Henry asked did they catch the person who did it? Lillian said we just don’t know and she added but I know that Diana would appreciate a call from you all and she added make sure you have William on that call. Then we heard the car horn of the taxi parked outside and I asked has it been 30 minutes already? I checked the time on my wristwatch and I realised that it had been almost 35 minutes since we entered the house and I went and whispered into Lillian’s ear to wrap it up. She said mum just came to check on you and Henry and she added we are off to school. She went to give her mother another hug and we that’s myself, Paul and Joan exchanged handshakes with her mother and brother before we left the house.

Lillian’s POV

After we left my house, we got in the taxi cab and we drove in silence to the airport. I was busy looking at Nate but he didn’t notice me and I thought to myself what would have happened these last few days if I didn’t know him? Only a slight touch from Nate brought me out of my thoughts and he announced that we were at the airport. I jolted out of my seat and stepped out of the cab and we walked to the private jet which was already fuelled and on the tarmac. We boarded the plane and the pilots said we should fasten our seatbelts and prepare for immediate takeoff. We did and the plane made it to the runway and in a few minutes we were in the air. I fell asleep on the flight and when I woke up, we had landed at the Dallas international airport in Washington DC. I didn’t wake up on my own by the way, Nate woke me up with a slight touch on my shoulder and I yawned and rubbed my eyes with my arm and he announced that we are home. I jolted out of my seat and we disembarked from the plane. When we got to the airport parking lot, we met Nate’s car there and I asked him what’s your car doing here? He just smiled and said when you were bothered yesterday you didn’t notice that I paid for it to remain here.

We got into the car Nate in front of the wheel, me beside him and Joan and Paul in the back seats. On our way back to school, Paul said we should drop him at the FBI headquarters which was his office by the way and he added hope I’m not late to work. Then Nate looked at the time on the dashboard in the car and said it’s just 9.35 am and he asked hope you aren’t late? Paul said I’d know when I get to the office. Just then Nate pulled over in front of the FBI headquarters and before Paul exited the vehicle, he looked at Joan and said we are still meeting tonight right? Joan responded you bet I wouldn’t miss it for the world. Then Paul gave Joan a kiss on her cheek and he left us in the car and walked into the building. I asked Joan what’s going on tonight? She responded none of your business and Nate said that’s cold. I smacked him across his shoulder and he said ouch that hurts and I said that serves you right. He started the car and drove us to school. When we got to the front of our hostel, Joan came down from the car and said I have to go prepare for my date with my boyfriend and Nate asked me do you have anything to do? I said no not really and he started the car and drove us to the Potomac River. When we got there he came down from the car and opened the door for me to exit. Then he walked me to the bank of the river and I asked him what’s going on? He held my hands and looked into my eyes and said ever since that day my mother saw you in my apartment she has been bothering me that she wants you as her daughter in-law and I said oh really? He said please don’t interrupt me I’m trying to pour out my feelings to you. I told him to go ahead and he continued you are everything I want in a woman please would you be my girlfriend?
