We all turned and stared at her. She was slender but with a great shape.

“Una good evening ooo” brother John waved at us.

“Bros welcome back ooo”

We all chorused

Brother John smiled. It was an unusual one.

“E be like say the heat too much way make una dey outside like this?”

“Yes ooo as nepa no gree give us light Nah, we say make we for collect breeze small.” One of the Neighbours announced.

Brother John and his new tomato walked into the house and faking a laugh.

Just then Sisi, the next-door neighbor turned to me.

“Ha, this one bro John bring woman come house. Today na today o.”

We laughed.

Emem was almost choking with laughter. It was unusual to see Bro John with a woman. This was someone who was a pastor.

After some minutes, the slender lady who had gone in with brother John ran out with a towel tied around her chest.

She was panting and breathing hard.

Sweat was covered all over her face. Her towel was loosely tied around her breast.

We turned towards her.

” wetin happen? Why you dey run like say something the pursue you?” Emem asked in panic.

“Nothing. Nothing.”

“You sure?”

Before she could answer, Brother John roared through the window.

“Gloria, wetin you dey do outside?”

She shuddered.

“Better enter inside now o. Make I no meet you for there ooo.”

She looked at us and sighed heavily.

“Babe wetin happen?”

She shook her head.

“John won kill me. He wan kill me for my mama. Chai. So man dey like this?”

“Kill how?” Sisi asked.

“We dey do that thing him no gree release. I tell am say I don tire make I rest small him no gree me. Shey him won finish me on top the matter? He wan chop me like fish. Come lick me like sweet.”

We opened our mouths.

We were all surprised.

We didn’t know what to tell her.

We were still calculating the matter when Brother John walked out of the house angrily and pointed at her.

“Wetin you dey do for here? I say go inside. You must finish what you have started ooo. You can not keep me in this situation and come outside. No way”.

When she hesitated, he chased her in with a stone.

He told us goodnight and walked in.

Sisi and Emem burst into laughter.

Then we heard the slender girl pleading.

“John abeg pity me”

“John abeg, I be person pikin”

“John easy ooo”

“John make I rest small”

I turned to Sisi. There she was. Looking at John’s window and licking her lips.
