Of all the things that could interrupt my argument with Arthur, I never thought an explosion could be one of them. After that tremendous booming sound, Arthur and I became mute and turned towards the direction of the explosion.

In a matter of seconds, another explosion erupted and seconds after that another one went off as well. It was like giant cannon blasts were being released continuously ; After some minutes, the explosions stopped but it was now replaced with agonizing cries and police sirens .

In that moment Arthur’s friend, Melina came out and inquired what had happened, it was then I realized the B–tch has kids.

Melina What happened?

.

Gwen It’s the end of the world .. What else could have happened?… Are you deaf?

.

Arthur GWEN!

.

Gwen Calm down.. It’s not like I was insulting her or anything.

.

Melina It’s alright Arthur… What now?

.

Arthur Stay put with your kids… Gwen go home.. I’ll have to investigate this.

.

Gwen (scoffs) Really? Since when did you become a sleuth?

.

Arthur This isn’t the time for sarcasm Gwen… This is serious. Get going NOW!

Arthur took off right after that leaving me and Melina alone and after that we both stared at each other intently. Melina was shaking a little bit and from her body reaction she wasn’t expecting Arthur to leave so soon, She soon pulled back her kids behind her as if I was going to make a move on them.

I watched her as she did that and in that moment, my eyes fell on her kids. The little critters were so cute and innocent, They too began to stare at me with curiosity as if I was some kind of mysterious being.

Suddenly, I began to perceive some of enticing aroma which was coming from the direction of the kids. The smell was that of bl—d which was running through their veins ; The temptation was killing me and it was making my senses go haywire but I managed to control my urges and barely pushing back my blood lust.

My resistance was making my hair itchy and I began to scratch it tirelessly like a psychopath.

Gwen What beautiful kids you have.

Melina Thanks… Please if you don’t mind.. I’d like you to leave.

Gwen That’s rude.. But don’t worry you have nothing to fear. I won’t terrorize your kids.

Melina Your earlier actions says otherwise.

Gwen I was in a desperate situation and it required a desperate measure.

Melina You need to control your blood lust else you might end up doing something you’ll regret.

Gwen Yeah whatever… I’ll do you a favor by getting away from you. I need to check up on Arthur.

Melina Please do.. I have a bad feeling about this.

Gwen So do I…. See you around human.

After that, I transformed into a bat and flew to the direction Arthur took. Moments later as I was soaring through the air, I realized the city was in a state of peril, there were lots of traffic jams and ambulance vans not to mention the truck of the fire department which filled roamed through the streets trying to head to where the explosions had occurred and in the instant, I began to think of Arthur.

Earlier ago, I was surprised by his stern and serious manner and the way he bellowed at me was a little bit shocking. I’ve never seen him look this way before and this side of him was really scary. I don’t know why he’s behaving this way, but that doesn’t mean I’m going to bend to his whim ; I’m Gwen Romanov and there’s no male alive that’s going to enforce his will upon me.. NOBODY NOT EVEN ARTHUR.

After flying for some minutes, I noticed a small crowd in front of a storey building wailing and crying out for help, I swooped down to their direction to see what was going on. As soon as I got down, I transformed into my normal self blended into the crowd.

Man OH LORD! SOMEONE DO SOMETHING!

Woman (wailing) AHHH… MY KIDS… SOMEONE PLEASE…. OH NO….

.

Gwen What’s going on? Your kids are in there?

.

Woman YES… YES… YES.. YOU’RE A VAMPIRE RIGHT? PLEASE SAVE MY KIDS… PLEASE..

Gwen Calm down.. Where are they?

.

Woman 7th floor… Room 25 … PLEASE DO SOMETHING.

.

Gwen Relax.. I’ll check and see.. Just pray your kids aren’t choked up with smoke in this inferno.

.

The feeling of losing someone especially a loved one is a scar that takes a very long time to heal. After hearing that this poor woman’s kids were still trapped inside the inferno, I felt very sorry for her and decided to help her out.

Within a flash, I rushed into the burning building with sonic speed, the atmosphere of the building was very hot and the place was filled with eye blinding smoke ; Any human that gets into the place would definitely die within minutes and it was then I began to wonder if the kids were alive.

Seconds later, I arrived at the 7th floor and got into the room in an instant. I sighed as I realized the room wasn’t burnt to crisp but it was filled with intense smoke. Without wasting any time, I began to search the room for the kids scattering the room but there was no sign of them. Time was running out and the fire was beginning to make it’s way into the room, it was a only a matter of minutes before the whole room engulfs in flames.

Just as I was about to give up the search, I heard some noises coming from the toilet, I quickly got there to check who was in there and to my surprise, it was the kids.

The little critters were 2 in number, one was a boy and the other was girl and from the appearance I’d say they were both not up to 10 years of age. The kids were terrified when they saw me appear into the toilet and they both hugged each other tightly.

Gwen What do we have here?

Boy Stay back Monster.

.

Girl Please brother don’t annoy the vampire.. She might s--k our blood.

.

Gwen Awwwnn! Aren’t you 2 cute? Look don’t worry.. I’m just here to save you.. Your mom’s down there.. She asked me to bring you 2 to her.

Boy LIAR!! Our mom would never ask a vampire for help.. Stay back or..

Gwen Or what? Listen you little rat.. We don’t have enough time.. The building might collapse any minute, Let’s..

Before I could finish my statement, The burning ceiling of the toilet collapsed and fell towards the 2 kids, I rushed and covered them from the danger.

Gwen (screams) ARRRGGGHHHH! D--N IT..

.

Girl Are you alright? Your back is on fire.

.

Boy Her clothes are burning too.

.

Gwen (moaning painfully) Mm mm… I know.. Alright kids.. Hold on to me.. We’re going to jump out of here.. Are you ready?

.

Boy You’re crazy. We’ll never make it.

.

Gwen NOW!….. ( takes off)

.

(Glass breaks….. Building explodes)

Minutes before the explosion……….

Somewhere in a quiet dark alley around Queens, Emma and Gilgamesh enjoy each other’s company as they share a hot steamy kiss . Emma who was pinned on the cold wall moans seductively as Gilgamesh’s lips and tongue land on her neck, she holds him tightly moaning even louder as she felt her lover’s fingers rubbing her thick sexy thighs.

Unfortunately for the two lovers, Their fun didn’t last thanks to the unexpected deafening explosion that killed their lust.

Gilgamesh What in the world is that?

Emma An Explosion.. But why now?

BOOM,… BOOM.. BOOM.. BOOM….

.

Emma By Merlin’s staff… Its an eruption.

.

Gilgamesh let’s go up top and see what’s going on.

Emma Good idea.

.

In a blink of an eye, Gilgamesh opens a portal using his dark spatial magic, both he and Emma step into the portal and soon appear at the top of a building where they get a clear view of what’s going on.

Gilgamesh Curses…. What chaos.

.

Emma What kind of weapon would cause s--k destruction?

.

Gilgamesh Weapon?

.

Emma Yes. It has to be.. I think Omhigan is behind this.

.

Gilgamesh We can’t be sure.. Let’s just….??

.

Suddenly, Gilgamesh and Emma see Arthur running with sonic speed, the latter was in his Wolfire form and he didn’t even realize he was being watched. Both confused and baffled at the same time, Emma and Gilgamesh stare at each other.

Emma That’s Arthur right?…

.

Gilgamesh Of course… But where is he running too?.. Something isn’t right.

..

Emma Do you think he had something to do with this explosion?

.

Gilgamesh I doubt it… From the way he’s running, something tells me he must have sensed the threat… I’ll follow him.

.

Emma Be careful…

.

Gilgamesh See you later.

After parting ways with Emma, Gilgamesh uses his light magic to create a board, which he mounts and flies off into the air, following Arthur’s tracks.

Meanwhile, Emma too soon flies off the building using her wind element magic, she flies around the resident and neighborhood blocks of Queens putting out the fire with water element magic.

After minutes of flying around and rescue service, She notices a burning storey building which was about to collapse due to the intense heat. In an instant, she flies and lands near the crowd who were standing in front of the building.

Emma EVERYONE… MOVE BACK.. THE BUILDING’S ABOUT TO COLLAPSE.. MOVE BACK.

.

Man Someone’s inside the building.

.

Emma WHAT??

.

Man 2 Yes.. She’s performing a rescue.

.

Emma IN THIS INFERNO!? Who’s crazy enough to get inside the hell?

.

…….. CRASH…. (glass breaking)

.

In that moment, Everyone looks up as they heard the shattering sound of glass, they all move back as they see something heading towards their direction.

.

Man RUN.. THE BUILDING IS COLLAPSING.

.

Emma WAIT A MINUTE… IT CAN’T BE.

.

In the blink of eye, Gwen lands on the ground on both feet making a big crack on the hard paved road. She pants for some seconds and then stands up looking at the crowd one by one. As soon as she sees the mother of the kids she’s holding, she let’s them go.

Filled with tremendous joy, The woman hugged both her kids and then went over to give her a hug but she hesitates after realizing how burnt up Gwen was.

Woman My God.. You’re hurt.. Your skin.. It’s burning.

.

Gwen I know.. But don’t worry, my wounds will heal in minutes. That’s one of the benefits of being a vampire.

.

Emma GWEN!

.

Gwen EMMA!?

.

Surprised by her friend’s presence, Gwen rushes towards and hugs her tightly, but Emma quickly breaks away from Gwen and stares at her in shock.

.

Emma You crazy idiot.. Look at you!

.

Gwen I know.. I know… Please don’t lecture me.

.

Emma You could have died.

.

Gwen Well, I couldn’t stand by and let these kids burn to crisp.. I had to do something, I.. Ohh.

.

Gwen was suddenly cut short after being hugged tightly by her BFF.. She too hugs Emma and the they remain like that for some seconds before breaking away from each other.

.

Emma That was crazy but I’m proud of you… I couldn’t have asked for a better beat friend.

.

Gwen Oh Emma.. Quit the emotional words.. You’re going to make crack up now.

.

Emma Come on, let’s go get you some clothes.. Your body is too exposed.

.

Before both ladies could leave the premises, the NYPD cars showed up in dozens racing down the street, they were all lined up in a rows and queues as if they were going for a battle.

.

Gwen What’s going on?

.

Emma What do you mean?

.

Gwen Didn’t you see the police cars? Something isn’t right.

.

Emma Hey.. Its just the police.. Maybe they’re going to arrest someone.. Who knows if there’s an arm robbery somewhere else.

.

Gwen I don’t know… It doesn’t just feel right.. Something is up.. I’ve never seen this many police cars befo…?!!!!!

.

Before She could finish her statement, Gwen saw a big armored car which was used to contain werewolves if they lost control of senses, it was more of an impound car meant for werewolves. In that very instant, Gwen remembered Arthur and quickly summed up was going on. In a blink of an eye, She took off with sonic speed leaving Emma behind.

However, Emma who was surprised by her friend’s action decided to follow her to make sure she wouldn’t do something crazy again.
