Charles’s POV

On our way out of my room, on our way to lunch, Diana asked me so why are we dressed the same way? I responded if you don’t like it I can go change. But she said she liked it, but she just wanted to know the reason why we were dressed alike. I told her that the reason why I dressed like her was for everyone to know that we were a couple and besides I saw many other couples dressing alike on my way into the hotel. And true to my words as we approached the elevator, we saw other couples dressed alike and I asked her does that answer your question? She nodded in the affirmative and when we got outside the hotel the heat from the sun was scorching as it was a hot summer day. We walked across the street to the restaurant and we were in luck as the place wasn’t filled to the brim with people and I whispered into Diana’s ears, looks like we are early and she whispered back yes we are. We went to an empty table and as we were taking our seats, a waiter came with the menu and he greeted bonjour monsieur et mademoiselle I tried to tell him that we don’t speak French, but Diana cut me off and started speaking French with the waiter, for close to five minutes. When they were done the waiter left. I asked Diana what were you discussing with the waiter? She said I saw the look of confusion on your face and I said yeah I don’t speak French and she told me that he asked her who I was to her and she said I was her fiancée and that was when he said bravo and started clapping. She told me that he said to visit the Eiffel tower which is a famous landmark in Paris.

Diana’s POV

I told Charles that the waiter said there various sights to see for lovers in Paris. He asked me where did you learn to speak French like that? I told him that my dad used to take me and my mum to France when I was younger, that in fact my family used to spend all our summer holidays in France and that we have a house in the country. I told him that you should remember this because I used to invite you back then but you used to say that you were busy doing one thing or the other. He said that I should listen to him speak German or Italian that he was fluent in both languages and I asked why didn’t you learn to speak French? He said just never got to learn it. He asked could you teach me? I told him that I’d teach him French if he taught me Italian and German languages. He stretched out his hand and said deal and I shook his hand and said deal also. The waiter brought the food I ordered and Charles looked at me and was like when did you order this? I said that I ordered it when I and the waiter were discussing the other time. We ate in silence and while we were eating a live band started playing some love songs in French I saw Charles nodding to the beat of the song and I could tell that he was enjoying the meal, the ambiance and the restaurant in general. After our meal, Charles went to settle the bill and I saw the restaurant manager smile and jump for joy and we left the restaurant. On our way out of the restaurant, I asked Charles so why was the restaurant manager smiling? He asked me you saw that right? I said yeah and continued so tell me. He said that probably it was because I gave him a huge tip and I asked how much tip did you give him? He said a 5000 euro tip. I looked at him like are you okay and he said I can’t help it I love good food and whenever I see someone that cooks good food I like to appreciate such person. Then we went to a lover’s garden close to the hotel we were staying and Charles told me to sit and he left me and went away. After a while, he returned with two ice-cream cones, one vanilla and the other strawberry flavour my favourite. He stretched out his hand with the strawberry flavoured ice-cream but I said no that I wanted the other one and he said I thought that this was your favourite? Referring to the strawberry ice-cream. I said yeah but I wanted to eat the other one. Then he said no problem and handed me the vanilla flavoured ice-cream. We ate our ice-cream in silence, sitting side by side. But I had something in my mind and so wasn’t concentrating and Charles noticed my mood and asked me to spit it out what’s bothering you? I said it’s nothing and Charles said it’s not nothing I know you well enough to know when something is bothering you. Then I said okay it’s about the awkward moment we had in your hotel room I asked him so why didn’t you kiss me when you were lying on top of me and you had the opportunity or are you gay?
