Diana’s POV

After my graduation, the very next day, I started to work in my father’s company as the CFO. I proceeded to uncover a massive level of fraud in the company’s books. Some things which we used to manufacture our products were purchased above their prices. For example one of the main ingredients for our yellow fever vaccines was sold for $250 per bottle but on the company’s books it was purchased at $2500 per bottle and so many others like that and so as such the company was losing huge amounts of money. I proceeded to call a meeting of all the staff and directors and I thoroughly questioned them and it turned out that the company CEO a man named Kenneth Henry was behind the fraud. I asked our Information Technology (IT) expert to trace all the money and he did and he told me that the money went from Kenneth Henry to some of the department heads in the company. I asked him to tell me when the fraud started and he said that it started when my father suffered a heart attack and so the board of the company appointed his deputy to run the company as CEO while he was recuperating. That was about three years ago now think about all the money they would have stolen from the company and my father never returned as the CEO of the company thinking that he had trust worthy people in charge of his company. So imagine that my father didn’t appoint me as CFO this stealing would have continued and the company would have crashed due to all the money they had stolen and the department heads which the CEO had connived to steal the company’s money were the most ineffective staff. I went on to call a meeting of all the department heads. I asked Kenneth Henry to explain the fraud which was going on under his watch and which he was a part of he started stammering, a man who had never done so in his life up till that moment. When he couldn’t explain it I proceeded to fire him along with all the heads of the departments with whom he connived to defraud the company. I also asked our ICT expert to place a freeze on all the embezzled funds which the former CEO and former department heads had stolen. I asked the head of our marketing department to place adverts in all the news paper dailies and some of the television and radio stations telling the public that we were hiring new staff to fill the posts of those who had been dismissed. All these lasted for nine months.

Charles’s POV

I watched in awe as Diana cleaned up her father’s company. She found a high level of fraud going on in the company and she went on to fire all the ineffective staff who worked for her. I think that the fraud started when Diana’s father had a heart attack and so he couldn’t keep an eye on what was going on in his company. There was no such fraud in our company this was due to the fact that my father kept an eagle eye on the goings on in his company. My father kept me in charge of the company’s branch in New York, the same city where Diana’s company was situated. I was relaxing in my office that day after completing a business deal, when I heard a ruckus outside my office I went out to see what was going on and I found the staff which Diana had fired from her company led by her former CEO they had come to ask me to intervene in the dispute between them and my fiancée Diana. I told them that there was nothing I could do. Then they asked me if I had some space for them to work in my company. That was when I flared up and I told them that they should thank their stars that Diana did not report them to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and if she had done so all of them would be spending the next seven to ten years in prison. That was the term for those who committed securities and other forms of fraud. Then I asked them to leave my building. As they were leaving, the former CEO of Diana’s company swore revenge on me, my fiancée and our companies. After that encounter, I went into my office and put a call through to my fiancée Diana and she picked on the third ring. I greeted her hi babe and she responded hi darling and I went on to ask her how her day has been and she said that it was good but stressful. She added running a fortune 500 company isn’t easy and I told her not to worry that she would get use to it. I asked her guess who just left my office right now? She said just tell me and I said that it was her former employees and she asked what did they want? I said that they wanted me to intervene in their dispute with you. She asked what did you say? I said that I told them that I’d think about it and she flared up and asked what do you mean by that! I said little Miss can’t take a joke calm down and she asked me what do you mean? I proceeded to tell her everything that happened between I and her former employees. I also told her the threat which her former CEO made and she asked what’s wrong with that man? She added is it because I didn’t report him to the police? I told her not to worry about him that he was just bluffing. I said Diana darling it has been long that we went out on a date. She asked are you asking me out on a date? I scratched the back of my head and said yes if you’d have me. She said to pick her up by 8 pm and added don’t be late. I asked from where should I pick you up? She said from my office.
