Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 2
When Charles asked me to marry him, I was shocked I mean I loved him very much but I wasn’t expecting a wedding proposal on my graduation day and so my mouth was wide open in surprise so I used my left hand to cover my mouth because he was holding my right hand and then I answered him yes I would marry you. He slipped the diamond ring on my finger, stood on his feet and picked me up from the ground and spun me round and round we were all laughs at the time and I said careful Charles I’m getting dizzy and he put me down gently and said oh I’m so sorry just excited and he added it’s not every day that the love of your life agrees to marry you. Then I heard my parent’s and Charles’s parent’s applauding us. I walked over to where they were and my mother was the first to grab me and she engulfed me in a big hug and she said to me while looking into my face congratulations and added I’m so proud of you my daughter not only that you just graduated from one of the best universities in the country as the best student but also that you got engaged on the same day to a very handsome young man. I moved over to my father and I could see the pride and happiness in his eyes as he said my beautiful daughter come and give your father a big hug and I went to him and he hugged me. While I was in his embrace he said before I forget, I’ve got a gift for you. I disengaged from the hug and asked so what is it? He dipped his hand into his pocket and brought out a car key and said to me that that’s the key to the red Lamborghini parked outside. I asked how did you know that that’s my favourite car? He just smiled and said I’m your father honey and he kissed my forehead and continued I know everything about you. He asked wouldn’t you like to test out your new car? I said yes and I collected the keys from him and went to the parking lot and saw the car it was my favourite model and colour for a car. I used the cars remote to open the driver’s side door, I got into the car and the seats were made of Italian leather. I proceeded to put the key in the ignition and the engine revved to life. I drove the car around the compound. After that I came down from the vehicle and went to my father, kissed him on his cheek and said thanks for the gift dad and he said you deserve it and so much more.
I went to were my son Charles was standing dreamingly looking at his fiancée Diana at the graduation ground and whispered congratulations to him. He turned and responded thanks mum. I asked him where he would like to live after the wedding? He told me that he would like his fiancée to make that determination. My husband John came to us and grabbed Charles by the shoulder and said congratulations my boy and I said that I was just asking him where he would like to live after the wedding? My husband told me that I should give them time to settle down and get jobs before they decide. Charles checked the time on his wristwatch and he exclaimed oh look at the time! It’s almost time for the party. He picked up the public address system and spoke and said let’s adjourn this celebration to the Anderson mansion. We all moved to our house. Diana’s parents in their car, I and my husband in ours and Diana and Charles in Diana’s new car. We arrived to a party atmosphere as the whole place was set up for a family gathering. All thanks to Martha Robinson Diana’s mother who put everything in place at the house. As we were driving into the compound, I saw the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Robinson enterprises drive in to the mansion then a few minutes later the chairman of the board of our family company Anderson enterprises drove in. After my husband and Diana’s father had introduced the chairman of the board and the CEO of both companies to the children and they congratulated the kids on their graduations and pending nuptials we went into the living room of our mansion. It was a celebratory atmosphere until Diana’s father took up a spoon from his table and hit it on his champagne glass to signify that he needed the attention of everyone in the room. When the room had quietened down he started to speak. He congratulated his daughter for first of all graduating from Yale with a law degree and then graduating from Harvard with a business degree. He said she had made him proud he went on to make an announcement that effective immediately he is naming her the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of his company. With all the powers to make changes she sees fit. My husband john stood and spoke he also congratulated our son Charles for doing same as Diana he said that he would be retiring as chief executive officer of Anderson enterprises as soon as Charles and Diana were married so he was appointing Charles as deputy chief executive officer of the company with a view for him to take over when he retires. My husband and Diana’s father said that there was one further announcement to be made after the kids were married. After the celebrations, Diana and her parents went home and my family retired to our various rooms.
