ON CAT

She races down a steep hill in the crowded favela streets

She saw people boarding the midnight train going to America

She quickly sneak into

the train.

The gunmen appear running to catch up with the train.But too

Late for them as the train started moving.

”You son of a bitches!,you d let the kid go just like that!.” Marco said to them furiously.

”She outsmart us” they chorused.

”F--k y’all,let’s go back to Don luis.”

He said, and they both

enter their S.U.V and Speed away.

ON CAT.

The train come to stop and Cataleya sneak’s out,

she stands at the edge of the busy street and looks around.She is in the heart of the city.

Where tall office buildings compete with graceful,classical

mansions.

in the distance she saw the hill sides,

covered with the twinkling lights.

AMERICAN EMBASSY

Two army men stand guard.cataleya to them.

”excuse me!” cat said drawing the attention.

Then army men looks down to Cataleya

in a Bedraggled,covered in soot and bloody school uniform.

Holding out the card her father gave her.

FAST FORWAD EMBASSY OFFICE

The american looks at the card Cat gave to the army,hands it to another american.

American:and you said you have something for us?

he turned to cat who nod, yes

American:may i see it?

Cataleya takes a beat.put’s her fingers down her throat.And throw up all over the man desk.

American:oh geez!…

Cat put her hand into her throw up,and took the memory card

and hands it to the man.the man take out an handkerchief and takes it from her.

He insert the memory

into his computer.

CLOSE ON COMPUTER SCREEN

Facts,figures,names,

dates,a wealth of info

scrolls down.

American:where did get this.?

Cat:my papa.

American:and where is your papa?

Cat:dead!.

American:did he tell you what this is.?

Cat:yes…My passport

The next morning,the American embassy took Cataleya to the airport to take the morning flight to chicago where she would stay with her uncle.they assigned a juniour agent to go with her to make sure she is safe.

They arrived chicago at exactly eight o’clock.

Cataleya would look for his uncle from there.

”Hey kiddo,we part ways from here.Hope you know your uncle’s address.” The agent asked her

”yeah,thank you sir”

the man walks away

Cataleya started searching for her uncle location.

OFFICE (NIGHT).

Cataleya enters an office were three women were working on a computers.

Looks like any other business office.At the sight of Cat,the women get up and exit closing the door behind them.

Cat is left alone.

She looks around the office where the sound of a door opening behind hers.

She turns to see Leo who approaches her scrutinizing her.

Leo:cataleya?

Cat:uncle Leo

Leo covers his mouth,

seems shocked.

Leo:i thought you were all…….

Cataleya stands struck still.Leo lifts her up in his arms,

crushes her to his chest.Cat remain motionless for a moment.

And then.

For the first time. emotions

real emotions,washes across her faces.her lower lips begin to shake.

Tears welled up in her eyes.She burst’s into tears.

Leo:you are safe now

All the emotions,the fear,the anger that she has,keep locked away deep inside her.

Leo:you are safe now.

CHICAGO-MORNING

The sun peaks over the horizon,spreading

the fog infused light coming off lake michigan across the sleeping city.

CLOSE ON-BEDROOM

The ray of sunlight washes across Cat’s sleeping face.she wokes slowly.Her eyes

open after a long sleep.

For a moment,she doesnt remember where she is.

She look around the clean,orderly bedroom as she gathers her thoughts.

Her eyes move around the room.

It is a boy’s room.

FAST FORWAD

KITCHEN

Leo sits reading the financial section of the morning paper.

An elderly woman a granny fills his coffee cup.

A noise turns both of them to the doorway

Cat:good morning uncle Leo,morning grand ma.

Leo:morning Cataleya

Granny:come sit.i ‘ll make you some eggs.

She carress her face,kisses her forehead.

Granny:you have your mother beautiful eyes

dont be scared.this is your home.

Slowly,hesitantly,Cat makes her way across the kitchen to the table,she sits opposites Leo.

Leo:when was the last time you slept?

Cat:i dont know.A long time ago

Leo:well,a growing body needs sleep.

When i was your age,i would sleep half the day.I dont know if it helped with the growing,but i was well

rested for whatever comes after.

Cat:whose room did i wake up from?

Leo:my son.Your cousin

Cat:where is he?

Leo:He’s dead

Cat:killed?

Leo:yes

Cat:by who?

Leo:no one is still alive.

Granny comes over and puts a plate of eggs in front of her.

As she begins to eat the food.

Leo holds up the page of the drawing.

Leo:you are very talented.Is this what you want to be? An artist?

Cat:No,i used to want to be like Lara.A super agent.

Leo:Not anymore?

chewing,Cat shakes her head.

Leo:And now?

Cat:i want to be a killer.

She kepts shoveling food in her mouth.

Leo looks up at his mother who crosses a suprise look.

Cat finishes the last mouthful of pizza and looks up at Leo.

Cat:can you help?

Leo:sure

NEXT DAY-(STREET)

Leo walks down the street with Cataleya.

He is carrying a kids book bag.

Leo:the good news is that your father bought you your life with what he gave you

The bad news is Don luis was playing the bad sides and has disapeared.

You tore down everything he spent years on with that little chip.It’s something he will never forget in his grave.

Cat:Are you trying to scare me?

Leo:i am trying to educate you.

FAST FORWAD

(MONEY BEING COUNTED)

PRINCIPAL OFFICE

Principal:Normally we dont accept students in the middle of Academy year,but under the circumstances,losing her parents in that tragic way…..

Cat looks out of the window,saying nothing

Principal:Here!

He hands a list of over to Cat who keep looking out the window.

Principal:these are the school supplies you ‘ll need.

Leo takes them.

Leo:she’s still in a bit of shock.

Principal:ofcourse,seeyou on monday Cataleya,such a preety name.

She doesnt even mind them.Just looking out of the window.

OUTSIDE

SCHOOL STREET

Leo walks along with Cataleya,reading the list of supplies.

Cat’s mind is far away from him.

Leo:we ‘ll get all this stuff,then go over to this place i know down maxwell street for some hotdogs

you like hotdogs?

He looks down,sees no Cataleya,looks back to see Her walking in the opposite direction.

Leo:Hey!

Cat keeps going.

Leo:Hey!

He hurries,catches up

with her.

Leo:where you going?

Cat:i ‘ve already been to school.

i told you what i want to be.you dont want to help me.fine.i ‘ll do it myself.

She walks off.Leo grabs her.

Leo:chica.Any idiot can be a killer.Look!

Leo draws a

357 mangnum pistol from his shoulder holster,and empties the entire bullets into the front of a car coming down the street.

The car summersault off the road.Smashes a fire hydrant,crashes

through a plate glass window of a shop across the street.

Leo holster his gun.

Leo:saw what i just did?

Leo:you want me to teach you to be a killer

No problem.i ‘ll teach you.but you ‘ll be dead in five years.

Cat nodes, agreeing

Leo:if you want to be a killer and survive,

you have to be a smart

one.You have to know things besides pulling a trigger.you have to know how the world works.How people think.You got to learn to be psychological.

That i cannot teach you,unless you learn the basics at school

Got it?

Cat glares at him

Leo:Now what’s it gonna be?

He holds the gun in one hand and the school bag in the other hand.

Cataleya hesitates for a moment.and Takes the school bag from Leo.

They started walking away quickly to dodge the upcoming police men blowing their siren.As they put a distance between the chaos.

Cat:But i still want to be a killer.

Leo:Hey kid,dont stresss yourself.Okay.

Finish your high school first.I promised

to teach you.Got it?

Cat:yeah

Leo:we cool?

Cat:sure,yeah

Leo:fantastic!

They both heads home
