Somewhere in one of the ghetto neighborhoods of Abuja, Dora and I sat in a unkept compound in the middle of the night waiting for the so called Herbalist, my mind wasn’t really in this Love portion stuff but it it means getting Peter’s love and undivided attention, then so be it.

After a while, The Herbalist came out and joined us outside his compound, From his appearance, he appears to be 60 or 70 years of age, He wore a clean white robe and his hair was grey, there was no trace of black hair left.

He sat opposite us staring at us calmly, He took a while before he started talking to us.

Herbalist ➡ Evening ladies.. You’re welcome to my house.. I hope you weren’t tired.

Dora ➡ Not at all Baba..

Herbalist ➡ Good.. So I’m guessing this is your friend., The one you told me about.

Dora ➡ Yes sir..

Herbalist ➡ What is your name young lady and what is it that bothers us?

Bianca ➡ My name is Bianca and I have a very disturbing issue.. You see my marriage is weeks away and my fiancee who is supposed to be supporting me isn’t doing so.. In fact he spends his time with his Childhood best friend whom he loves dearly. Sir.. I’m afraid.. I don’t want to lose him.. I’ve tried to keep him off my rivals clutches but nothing seems to be working.

Herbalist ➡ I see.. You’re not the only one with this problem.. Lots of women come to my place reporting the same issue but don’t worry, I have the answer to your current problem. What you need is a love potion.

Bianca ➡ Are you sure it’s going to work?

Herbalist ➡ (smiles) If it doesn’t, your friend wouldn’t have brought you here.. Once your fiancee tastes my concoction.. You’ll be the only woman in his life, he’ll never deny you anything, all you have to do is make him taste it once and he’ll be yours for life… Just give me a moment, I’ll be right back.

The Herbalist stood up and went inside his house, as soon as he was gone.. Dora and I began to talk in low tones.

Bianca ➡ (quietly) Are you sure this guy is legit?

Dora ➡ (silently) 1000% percent legit. Trust me.. This guy is the real deal.. His stuff is harmless and it never fails.. I’ve seen it with my own eyes.

Bianca ➡ (silently) Okay.. If you say so.

Within minutes, The Herbalist came out with a little plastic leather in his hands, After he sat down, he handed the stuff to me, I collected it and examine what was inside, it was a pinch of white powder.

Bianca ➡ Is that it? It’s so little.

Herbalist ➡ Relax young lady.. That little thing does wonders and once your fiancee tastes it.. You’ll be grateful. You have my word, it will work.

Bianca ➡ Okay… How do I use it?

Herbalist ➡ It’s simple.. Just put in it a drink and dilute it.

Bianca ➡ Does it have any taste?

Herbalist ➡ No.. It’s tasteless. Your fiancee wouldn’t know a thing.

Bianca ➡ Good! So how much is your fee?

Herbalist ➡ 30,000.

Bianca ➡ Okay… Give me your account number.

PRESENT DAY….

Ever since I confronted that hog b-tch, She and Peter haven’t been seeing each other, in fact, they had split up.

I was so glad by their breakup and did whatever I could to draw Peter close to me., It didn’t take long before He came back to me, I didn’t hesitate to use the love potion on him, I mixed it in one of his drinks ? and watched as he swallowed every drop of the drink.

Nothing changed after Peter drank that love portion, but still things were turning in my favor, He was constantly spending time with me and I enjoyed his company, there are times where he looks moody but he never mentioned or talked about Angelina. To make sure that didn’t happen, I asked Dora to keep track of his movements and So far there was no report of him seeing or colliding with Angelina.

One afternoon, I was with Zainab and Dora in a posh lounge telling them about the progress of my relationship with Peter.

Zainab ➡ So you’re saying the potion worked ?

Bianca ➡ Yes Zee.. It works o.. Not for once did he thought about that Jezebel.

Dora ➡ I told you the man is Legit.. His stuff never fails… I’m happy for you. In a couple of weeks, You and your man will be married.

Bianca ➡ Yes o.. I’m still thinking of which place to go to our honey moon.. I’m thinking of Los Angeles or maybe Cuba.

Dora ➡ Ehn… Why don’t you go to Dubai?

Bianca ➡ Oh please.. Dubai is too common, everyone goes there.. I want my honeymoon to be special.

Zainab ➡ Perhaps he’ll take you to Mexico ?? (laughs).

Bianca ➡ No be tacos, I want chop o. (Laughs)

After that we bursted out laughing excitedly, In that moment, we heard some men arguing about something , what’s even surprising enough, is that they were arguing about the very same topic we were talking about.

Stranger 1 ➡ Love potion!?.. Forget that nonsense… As long as love dey strong, that thing no go work… Remember o.. Love conquers all.

Stranger 2 ➡ True talk… Juju no fit affect strong love.. The reason why this world dey suffer na be say people no love each other… Jealousy and hatred don contaminate people mind.

Stranger 3 ➡ Na so o. As long as love dey nothing go happen… As I dey tell Una, she come use love potion for the guy, it take time before the thing come break for the guy mind.. As I dey tell you.. Their marriage don scatter.

We all listened attentively to guys as they argued, In that moment, I was beginning to have doubts about this Love potion stuff and I felt guilty for using it on Peter. Dora who saw I was worried assured me that my actions was for a good cause.

Dora ➡ Don’t listen to those guys.. What you did wasn’t wrong.. You were just protecting and defending what’s rightfully yours.

Bianca ➡ I don’t know Dora.. What if the stuff stops working.. What then?

Dora ➡ Don’t worry.. It won’t stop working. Just keep your mind at rest and stay positive.. Peter is yours.

Bianca ➡ (sighs) Okay..

After spending an hour in the lounge, The three of us parted ways and went home.

Later in the evening, Peter came over to my place to spend some time with me.. He looked a little bit tense, so I decided to cheer him up, I decided to make some snacks for him, It took me almost an hour but everything was done.

After serving the snacks to Peter, he began to eat them slowly, so I decided to us that moment to talk to him about my wedding shopping.. While I was doing that… Peter looked absentminded and I asked if he was okay, He abruptly excused himself and borrowed my car driving to God knows where.

Shortly after Peter left, Dora showed up in my house. I didn’t even notice her presence cause I was thinking about why Peter had acted like that, I felt disturbed and worried.

Dora ➡ Bianca!

Bianca ➡ ????

Dora ➡ Jesus… BIANCA!!!!

Bianca ➡ Oh.. Hey Dora..

Dora ➡ What’s wrong.. You looked dazed.

Bianca ➡ Nothing.. I was just thinking about something.

Dora ➡ Hmm.. Okay o.. By the way, I saw Peter in your car and he was driving really fast.. Did something happen?

Bianca ➡ Did you say he was driving fast?.

Dora ➡ Yes.. Did something happen?

Bianca ➡ Did you see where he heading to?

Dora ➡ Yeah.. He was driving one the road that led to the Central park.. Has something happened?

Bianca ➡ Come on let’s go. I’ll tell you everything in the car.

Within seconds, Dora and I left and locked up my house, we soon entered her car and followed Peter’s trail, while we were driving, I told Dora everything that happened just before she came into my house.

Dora ➡ You mean he excused himself? Did he tell you what he was going?

Bianca ➡ No.. I have a feeling something isn’t right.

Dora ➡ Calm down.. Let’s just get to the Central park and see if he’s there.

Within minutes Dora and I arrived at the central park and spotted my car, we parked at a safe distance and tiptoed through the park searching for Peter, lucky for us, It was dark so nobody could spot us.. In a matter of seconds, Dora and I spotted Peter sitting alone on a bench, it was like he was waiting for someone.

Bianca ➡ What is he doing there sitting all alone?

Dora. ➡ Maybe he’s waiting for someone.

Bianca ➡ Let me go and check him out.. I have to know what’s going on.

Dora ➡ No.. You’re only spoil things plus Peter will despise you if he realizes you’re stalking him. Let’s wait and see what will happen.

I decided to listen to Dora and wait and see what would happen next, Minutes later, another car arrived at the Central park and parked right next to Peter’s car, I gasped with shock when I saw it was Angelina.

My heart began to beat very fast and I was began to feel dizzy… I couldn’t understand what was going on. Why was Angelina here?

Dora and I watched keenly as both Peter and Angelina sat close to each other talking, we couldn’t hear what they were saying but what happened after their conversation made my heart skip a beat.

Right here before my very eyes, Peter and Angelina were having a romantic French kiss ?, They were so into the kiss that nothing could split them apart from each other’s lips . The sight was too much for me that I began to cry, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing.. Peter was actually kissing Angelina and from the way his hands were fondling her body, I could tell he had missed her a lot.

Instantly, I turned around and went back to the car, Dora followed me quietly from behind, as soon as we both entered the car, I screamed out in anger and cried profusely hitting the compartment of the car, Dora was silent for a while, She had nothing to say to me, she just looked away as I let out all my frustrations.

What even angered me was the fact I had to spend 30,000 naira on a stupid love potion that didn’t even work, It wasn’t even up to a week when I first bought it, In that moment, I recalled what those two guys had argued about this afternoon.. It pained me even more as I thought of it.

Bianca ➡ You said the Potion would work? You vouched for the stuff and now look.. Tell me.. What happened.. There’s Peter in Angelina’s arms locking lips with her!

Dora ➡ Look Bianca.. I don’t even know what to say.. I think we should visit the Herbalist and ask him what went wrong.

Bianca ➡ Come on.. Let’s go.. That old b-stard will have to explain what just happened. I can’t waste 30k for nothing.

After that, We soon left the park and drove straight to the Herbalist’s house.

The old man was meditating in his compound when I bursted into his house, Dora followed me trying to calm me down but I wasn’t in the mood to be calm.. I want answers.

Herbalist ➡ Good evening…

Bianca ➡ Hold your greetings old man.. You sold me a cheap product.. Your love potion was nothing but a scam. Pure scam. You gave me your word that this stuff would work but it didn’t… I demand to know.. WHAT WENT WRONG?

The Herbalist was quiet for a while, he just kept staring at me and then eventually shook his head.

Herbalist ➡ First of all.. You don’t have manners but I forgive your rude intrusion into my house.

Second I did gave you my word that my stuff would work and it has always worked, you’re the first one to ever come with a complain that my stuff didn’t work.

Third, my products are not fake if they were I wouldn’t be here in this house.. I would have been moving from one place to another.

Fourth here’s your money.

The Herbalist snapped his fingers and in a blink of an eye, my 30k was sitting in front of the man. Dora and I were terrified by what happened that we almost ran for our lives.

Herbalist ➡ Don’t be scared.. I didn’t mean to frighten you.. I have to say though I too I’m disappointed by your complain.. Nothing like this has ever happened, but let me see what went wrong.

The Herbalist called someone from inside his house and asked him to bring him his tray of sand. Seconds later, a teenage girl came out with a tray of clean sand and dropped it in front of the Herbalist.

After the girl went back into the house, the Herbalist began to hum and then draw some figures on the sand, after a while he stopped and shook his head.

Herbalist ➡ Hmm.. This is quite astonishing..

Bianca ➡ What’s astonishing?

Herbalist ➡ This fiancee of yours can not be separated from the woman you claim to be your rival.. No power on this earth can split those two apart.. I’m afraid you’ll have to find another man.

Bianca ➡ What are you saying!? Are you saying that Peter will never be mine?

Herbalist ➡ I’m afraid so.. The love between this two is stronger than power in the world.. These two have been fated to be together right from their early age.

Dora ➡ But isn’t there anything we can..

Herbalist ➡ SILENCE!! Didn’t you heard what I just said.. There’s no force or power that can separate them.. Only the everlasting creator can interfere… If you value your lives.. Just let these two be.. Trying to undo what Fate has ordained will be a grave mistake. There are things in this world you can’t change no matter the power you have.. This is one of those things.. I’m sorry young lady that you had to find out this way. But that Fiancee of yours will never be yours.. His future lies with that woman he’s with, not you.

It may be hard at first but you should let him go and find another man.. It’s not too late for you.

Bianca ➡ (shedding tears) But sir.. I…. love… him…. so…. much.

Herbalist ➡ My dear.. Whatever happens in this life happens for a reason and whatever we lose, we get a better one tomorrow. Find peace in yourself and move on.

I really didn’t want to let Peter go but after seeing what this man did and hearing what this man had said, I couldn’t doubt him, everything he said was true.. Maybe Peter and I weren’t meant to be, I was just part of his romance story with Angelina but the main characters of their story is the two of them.

After a while, I thanked that man and left his house without taking the money. As soon as we got into Dora’s car, I cried so hard but quietly.. Dora cheered me up as she gently rubbed my shoulders.

Dora ➡ It’s okay Bianca.. It’s okay.. Who knows what will happen tomorrow.. You might find a better guy than Peter just like the man said.. So what now?

Bianca ➡ I’m calling off the wedding.. I accept defeat.. Peter and I are no more.. Let him go to Angelina.. If it’s her he truly desires then let him take her.. I understand when I’m not wanted.

Also I forgive him for everything he’s done to me.. If this is how Fate decides it, then let be it so. I just hope they’ve found happiness with each other and I wish a happy life together… Let’s go home Dora.. I need to take a bath ?.

After that, Dora sighed and turned on the ignition of her car, after roaring for a while, she pressed the pedal and then drove us straight to my house.
