“That girl, she is now using my failure in marriage to disgrace me, it is not her fault, I caused it. Had it been I sat down in my house, can she be insulting me, anyways I gave her the best insult of life and I know she will understand that I have her secrets in my hands and could destroy her so called marriage” Clara soliloquies biting her nails and moving about in her room.

“Ahh, this girl hurts me a lot and I must show her the hard part of me. Did she think she will enjoy that marriage, never, I will make her pass through fire. I will show her that I be confirm Edo girl…that her head wey no correct will reset by the time I finish dealing with her.” Clara swore and banged her hand on her bed, holding her head and wept.

Some weeks later, Kemisola and her Olamilekan visited his mother in the city of Lagos. She welcomed them as she was happy to see them. They had come to plan their marriage and formal introduction of Kemisola to her.

” So, my wife you will be marrying my son, I am in full support of it and I pray you both would last together by the grace of God.” Iya Labake prayed for them. Folorunsho mother’s was always called by the name of her second child, Labake which makes every one in the environment decided to call her that.

“Amen mama” Kemisola said kneeling down.

” But my wife, you see since Folorunsho was a small boy, coolval stories like when he started s-----g from this two old breast of mine, he has never do anything outside my wish o and I have been telling him that any lady he wants to marry he should let her know that he is marrying both of us. That is, you will marry myslef and my son or are you among the ladies that does not like to have mother-in-Law, like praying for your mother -in-law to have died before you meet the man, hun” iya Labake asked Kemisola looking at her face.

“Ah, No, ma. I pray you will lir long for us o, I too want to enjoy the fruit of my labours now, so why will I be praying for you to die ma, never, you will eat the fruits of your labour mama” Kemisola said kneeling down again.

“Oshey, Omo daadaa (good child) you have become his wife, I give you my full support and since you have agreed to abide by my words. You see this Olamilekan here, he is like my baby o, I still dictates for him and tell him what to do, you see the bag he bought for you while coming, he asked me if he should buy it for you and I said he should go ahead and buy. So you can see that he does nothing without my approval” Iya Labake said to her while Olamilekan was smiling like someone who had inhaled a laughing gas.

Kemisola squeezed her face a bit when she heard what her mother-in-Law said to her but she had to pretend as if all is well.

“I can’t afford to lose this one again o, after the several break up from different relationship, I will clinch to this one o, he is super rich so there is nothing I want that he would not give to me. With time his mother will change and when we relocate, she will not be able to control Olamilekan again as I would have him to myself alone.” Kemisola Soliloquy to herself and forced a smile.
