Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 2

My wife Nnenna,carried her luggages with tears flowing from her eyes uncontrollably. She was flummoxed about the whole event that occurred.

She left for the village so as to share what had happened to her father and younger brother. Nnenna had no Mother– her mother died many years ago.

Nnenna got home with hot tears pouring down her cheeks. Her father asked her why she visited them on this scorching afternoon with her baggages.

Nnenna couldn’t speak as though she was struck dumbed. She was tongue-tied and couldn’t stand the pace.

“Papa let’s her sit down first “Okonkwo,her younger brother said as he held Nnenna to the chair.

“My daughter tell me what happened,why are you here with your luggages. Since you got married you haven’t visited with these kinda luggages” her father said with his eyes on stalks.

Nnenna then narrated everything to them and her father was down in the dumps while Okonkwo got a face like a wet week-end.

Don’t worry my daughter,it wasn’t your fault. I’ll go and see him tomorrow” her father said as though he was down in the mouth.

Nnenna couldn’t stop crying. Her heart indeed sunks. Okonkwo cuddled and told her to stop crying that everything will be fine.

Nnenna stood up as Okonkwo carried her luggages to the room.

The next day, Nnenna’s father- my father in-law visited me as though he slept in my house. I was out of the blue as I welcomed him dearly.

“I’m really astonished to see you my in-law,how are you? and what brought you to my humble abode this morning?” I asked him bowing and scraping.

“My son, thank you for the warm welcome. I came here because of what my daughter narrated to me. I believed there wasn’t a lie in all she said.. “My father in-law said thoughtfully.

I hissed in agony and said;”Nnenna your daughter made my blood ran cold. She treacherously betrayed the trust I had in her.

“My son it wasn’t her fault. It was a hard decision to make. My father in-law muttered.

“Oh you think it wasn’t her fault? What if she had kílled me? I know she would end up marrying another man after my departure” I said as though I was up in arms.

“My son,a little fire is quickly trodden out and a calm sea does not make a skilled sailor. Accídent will happen and all things are difficult before they are easy. Meditate on these words, I’m going” my father in-law said as he stood up and left my house.

I was weakened by his words and I thought testing my wife that way was the greatest mistake I had ever made.

I thought my wife would pass the test as I wanted to grasp Eric’s two million naira but unfortunately he ended up grasping mine.

He ruined my home and I was fed up with cooking and eating all by myself.

Cogitating about all these made me to jump out of my skins as I regretted my actions.
