Ever since I’ve returned, I’ve been doing my possible best to avoid Angelina,.. I just couldn’t tolerate her presence not after what she did to me.. My mom was insisting I talk to her but I made up fake promises and lies that I would meet her. So I decided in order to avoid her completely, I decided to spend my time at the film studio and spend the whole day there.

I was hoping I’d relax, but Angelina’s appearance has made that impossible.. So to avoid my mother’s nagging, I decided to spend my nights at Hotels… Sometimes, I would sleep at the studio if I got bored of the hotel.

One afternoon as I was in the studio resting… My mentor and friend, Francis called me into his office to discuss about an upcoming movie project he was planning to make.

Francis Okay Peter.. This movie I’m going to make is going to be a block buster and it’s going to blow the audience away but there’s a slight problem…

Peter Which is?

Francis I’m having a difficult time to find an actress for the role.. Mr. Edward suggests that his daughter must be given the role but she’s now where to be found.

Peter No. No.. No.. We can’t put Bianca.. She won’t cut it.. She doesn’t deserve this role.

Francis That’s what I thought. Even the directors have the same view.. We need someone with raw talent.. Someone new.

Peter I understand… Well.. Let me see if I can find that person..

Francis Good.. You better find one fast because there’s no time.. In about a week, we’ll start shooting and if you don’t.. I guess we’ll have to cancel the film.

Peter Don’t worry.. I’ll do my best.. I’ll find someone in time.

After that, I left Francis’s office… Just as I about to leave the building, I got a call from my mom.

Peter Hello!? Mom.

Jessica Peter.. Can you please branch to the mall and get some vegetables?

Peter Vegetables??

Jessica Yes.. I want you to get some lettuce and carrots.

Peter Okay…. (ends call)

Vegetables!? Seriously… I’m a man not a woman.. I don’t know a thing about shopping for groceries but since mom has specified the ones she wants.. I guess it wouldn’t be that hard.

After the call, I headed outside and straight to my car, after I got in, I headed straight to the mall.. Minutes later, I arrived there and headed to the vegetable section.. While I was checking out for the lettuce and Carrots.. I noticed some people staring at me.. They were even taking pictures of me.. They must have recognized who I was.. The last thing I wanted was attention, so I moved away and quicken my search for the lettuce.. I soon found the section for the lettuce and I have to say the lettuce looked so bad… They looked so pale and rough.. The carrots were good but the lettuce was a mess.. I stood for a while looking at them trying to figure out the best one I should choose.

In that moment, I noticed a woman in the place.. She too was busy figuring out with cabbage to choose, I figured out she could solve my dilemma , so I went and asked for her help… I tapped her shoulder and as soon as she turned around my heart skipped a beat when I saw it was Angelina.

I couldn’t believe it when I saw her.. Here I was trying to avoid her, and now here she is, in the flesh… My first thought was to leave the place but then I stood still staring at her.

I couldn’t believe this was Angelina.. She had changed completely.. It was like she was a different person entirely, To be honest, she looks so gorgeous and very, very, attractive.. I quickly scanned her body and saw she was fuller than last time.. Her assets were fully loaded and her skin was lighter than before, She looked a little like those Europeans b-stards abroad.

Her very presence was so radiating and alluring,.. There was just something that turned me on.. In fact all the hate I had for her melted in an instant.. God! Just what the hell was she eating in abroad.

We stood staring each other for while.. Angelina was shaking a little staring at me as if she had seen a ghost.. I too was frozen with shock… I never expected that our meeting would be so unexpected but since we’re here let’s get this over with.

I extended a greeting to her and she gasped as if she wasn’t expecting to say anything.. Angelina soon composed herself and answered me politely.

Angelina Uhm.. Yeah.. It’s nice to meet you as well..

Peter I didn’t recognize you.. You look different.. In a good way of course.

Angelina (blushing) Oh.. Thanks.. You too.. you’ve grown quite tall and muscular.. You look good too.

Peter Oh.. Yeah. Thanks.. So you’re here to get some vegetables huh?

Angelina Yes.. I’m done by the way.

Peter Well.. I’m having difficulty choosing the lettuce.. They all look so bad.

Angelina Yeah.. Uh… My mom has some fresh lettuce at home.. I’m sure she’ll help you with some.

Peter Okay then… Uh.. Are you heading home now?

Angelina Yes… Are you?

Peter Yep..

Angelina OK.. So what now??

What now??? I really have no idea.. In fact why am I talking to her?? I should be staying far away from her but I just can’t… There’s no way I can ignore her like that, not when we’ve began to have our first conversation in 6 years..

In that moment, an idea got into my head.. This would be an opportunity to find out why she did that awful thing 6 years ago but we can’t have this conversation not here in the mall, I soon thought of a place to go for us to settle this issue.

Peter Well.. Are you in a hurry?

Angelina Huh? No.. Not at all.

Peter Well.. I was hoping we’d find a place and catch up on lost time. Let’s talk about our time apart.

Angelina Good idea.. Where do you want us to go?

Peter Mama Nneka’s restaurant..

Angelina OK then. Let’s go .
