Cheaters - S01 E43

I went home that evening with so much on my mind.My only fear was that the Police

could track Lucy in the community with ease if they wanted to arrest her.

So it was not advisable for her to even stay in that vicinity. I had to convince her not sleep in my room for at least that night.

I told Lucy of the new development but she refused to move an inch from the room because she was already fed up with the theft case which entangled her.

We were arguing in the bedroom when I had a call.It was Lucy’s father,Mr.Adjei calling.

I remembered that instant that the elders said they would inform me of any new

development after they had tried pleading with Bro Mike for some few more days to be given us to raise the money.

I picked up the call and he narrated everything that happened under the meeting that evening.

He said it was not an easy battle for them trying to convince him for some few days to be given us to raise the rest of the money.

At last he gave in to their plea and gave us up to Wednesday to raise his money which amounted 500GH.

He also told the elders when they asked him whether what they heard about him

reporting the case to the police for Lucy’s arrest that night was true.

He confirmed that the rumours were true but promised call them to stop the arrest for that night.

I was very much happy to hear that.

Mr. Adjei asked me to tell Lucy about the

new development that she could stay and sleep over which I refused.

I never told her that the police were not coming that night because she

had already made up her mind not to leave so there was no need for me to inform her.

My only worry was where to get the rest of the money.Any way, I told Lucy that they gave us to up to Wednesday for the money.

My only problem now is how to raise 500GH before Wednesday.

The only person who could help me was Pebbles who did not even want to see my face.

I decided to take the bulls by the horns after a long thought.

My mind scanned through all my friends who had

disappointed me because they initially warned me against dating Pebbles in the first place.

I just didn’t want to approach her because I feared she could make a mockery at me.So I initially did not want to approach her for any money.

But by the look of things,I decided to approach her for a loan if God did not praise himself before Thursday….
