? Ashton’s p.o.v?

“So much guts,can you imagine she didn’t honor the court invitation? Who does she thinks she is….” Mom rambled on and I tried effortlessly to concentrate on what I was doing,but it wasn’t just possible.

“Ashton are you even listening to me?” She asked.

She finally realized I wasn’t interested in whatever she was saying.

“No,I am not” I replied honestly.

“What are you huh? Who the hell do you think you are? I am still your mom for crying out loud and to think that the issue I am talking about affects you the most…it affects us”.

“I remember telling you to stay out of it” I reminded her.

“But I couldn’t. What type of mother would i have been if I stayed out of it. We are talking about a child,another addition to the family,we have to do all it takes to get that child. She is ours”.

“I don’t have any intention of taking the child from her mother so I see no reason why you have to take the issue to court”. I sighed.

She was a different type of trouble on her own and it sucks. It really sucks.

“Really Ashton? Really? You are blaming me for trying to help you. You are not man enough to fight for your child and I am helping you to do that and this is what I get?” She asked angrily.

“Mom,you are not helping me,you are only making matters worst. I can handle this on my own and I definitely wouldn’t handle it your way so for the last time please stay out of it and stop sending Kim court invitations” I pleaded.

“I have a say too. This child is my grandchild and a part of this family. I am gonna help because you Can’t handle this on your own and I want to let Kim know she is nothing even though she thinks she has everything now. We are getting the kid” she said with an air of finality,but I wasn’t buying that.

This is none of her business.

“Are you even listening to yourself mom? I don’t need your help and you are staying out of it, moreover her lawyer is already meeting with Mine outside court so i think everything would be settled without force”. I explained.

“No,I don’t think so. You have no idea what she is capable of doing….” She was saying until I cut her off.

“Mom I think that’s enough I am really trying hard to concentrate right now” I said bringing the conversation to an abrupt end.

“Ashton!”

“Mom!” I replied with the same tone.

“You are unbelievable” she yelled before stomping out angrily.

She is unbelievable too,this is absolutely none of her business and I see no reason why she should interfere. She is probably doing this because of her hatred for kim and i have no idea why she hates her.

Mom is just so difficult at times…. scratch that,she is difficult all the time.

? Kim’s p.o.v?

“Mommy are we going to the park?” Charlotte asked for the umpteenth time.

“Yes we are” I replied.

“Really? Can I see the aquarium after that?”

“No I don’t think so. There is no time for that today,we can come and see it another time” I told her.

“Really? Is that a promise?”

“Yes it is”.

I was taking her to meet her dad and honestly I didn’t know how to explain to her. I tried explaining one time but it didn’t end well because she kept on asking different questions that were not in any way related to what I was talking about. We can’t force it,with time she would become acquainted to him.

Our lawyers settled it outside court and I drew a timetable. I don’t want to be a selfish person even though a part of me doesn’t feel good about all this. The fact Still remains that the child is in my custody,so why wouldn’t she see her dad.

It was a Saturday and he requested to see her so I was presently taking her to where she would see him. The park,so you see I wasn’t lying to her about that.

“Remember you promised mommy to be a good girl?”

“Yes I would be a good girl” she said twirling my hair between her fingers again.

That was a bad habit but old habits never die fast.

<<<<<<<<< "Mommy who are we waiting for?" "Someone..." My sentence was cut when I saw Ashton and a kid strolling towards where we were. Looking closely the kid should be about Charlotte's age or a little older than her. He didn't get married did he? Or who knows that could be Julia's kid. It isn't my concern if he already got married or is it? No,i don't know. Julia? Julia's kid? That didn't go well,for a reason unknown to me,I didn't feel so good about this. Why didn't I feel good about this? Probably because Julia is a bad person or...

There should be no OR,I didn't feel good about this because Julia is a bad person and I don't want her around my kid. But she isn't even here? But the little kid is. "Hello Kim" I heard him greet. Back to earth Kim. I forced a smile on my face "hello". "I am glad that you decided to bring her ..." His sentence was cut short when the little boy spoke. "Hello Miss,I am Diego" he said stretching his hand for an handshake. Okay,I didn't expect that and that little gesture brought a smile on my face.

The kid was adorable. "Hello Diego" I said stretching my hands to take his little ones. I had to bend a little though. "I am Kim and this is Charlotte" I said introducing us. "Charlotte say hi to Diego" I said again nudging Charlotte who looked like she was far away from this world. She was spacing out again. "Huh?" She asked opening her eyes wide. Way to go Charlotte. It was obvious she wasn't paying attention to anything here,her mind was on the kids playing on the swing. She definitely had short attention span. "Say hi to Diego" I said again. "Okay Mommy. Hi Diego" she said smiling. She was looking at the two guys in front of us. She obviously didn't know which was Diego. I smiled awkwardly. This was awkward. "Hello Charlotte" the little boy said smiling at her. "Hello Charlotte,how have you been..." Ashton was saying until she interrupted him. "Mommy, Isn't he the Mister from your office?" She asked. "Yes. Why don't you say hello to him"

<<<<<<<<<< "Thank you for bringing her here today" Ashton said for the umpteenth time today. "It's nothing,I have to be on my way now" I said. It have been close to thirty minutes and I think Charlotte has settled down here enough and I definitely didn't bring her here to stay with her. They should have their time alone too. He nodded his head. "I would love to say hello to Charlotte" I said gesturing to where Charlotte and the other kids were playing and he followed me closely. "So Mommy are we leaving now?" She asked immediately I got her to leave the other kids with the Diego guy. She made a new friend fast. "No. You are not,but I am. I would come to pick you up few hours from now" I explained. "Aren't you waiting mom?" "No I can't. I have tons of work to do,but I would come back to pick you". "But I want you to stay mommy" she said again,she wasn't smiling any longer. Way to go Charlotte. "I can't baby. I have to work believe me" I said again and she shook her head. "Today is Saturday mommy" she insisted. "I know but..." "Please Mommy" she pleaded battling her eyelashes and the little guy followed suit. What the hell? I bent to her level. "Look Charlotte,I would love to but I can't. You need to understand mommy has plenty of work to do today okay. We can go to the aquarium together another time,is that okay with you?" "Okay Mommy. Promise?" "Promise" I attested bumping my pinky finger with hers and she giggled. "Give mommy a hug". <<<<<<< "So have you thought of maybe dropping Charlotte off some weekend to stay with her dad?" Tyler asked and I glared at him. Where did that come from. "No" I said curtly. "Maybe you should think of it.." he paused when he noticed my glare. "I am only suggesting Kim...only suggesting". "Suggesting huh?" "Yes I just thought it would be fair to....to you know,as a guy that's what I would want if I was in bustamante's shoes" he said again. "The guy isn't good with kids and I don't think it's a good idea for Charlotte to spend the weekend with him" I paused. "He has a kid and then there is Julia". What if she poisons my daughter? "A kid?" He asked. "Yes,there was this curly haired little guy that came with him earlier today" I explained. "So you think the kid is his?" "Yes, whose kid is he then?" "I don't know but I am positive bustamante doesn't have a kid". "Why would you say that?" "I mean no harm ,but you need to see how that guy freaked out when he bumped into a kid when I visited his company earlier this week. I think kids terrifies him". "And you think your suggestion is helpful?" "Yes I think so,I think it is reasonable to an extent. Charlotte is his kid so I see no reason why she should terrify him". "That kid didn't either,he seems to have a good relationship with the kid". I explained further. "It's possible that the kid is his and it is also possible the kid isn't. But I think the kid isn't". "How are you so sure?" He paused looking at me for a moment before sighing. "What's it to you anyways? What if the kid is his?" "Then...I don't care". "Yes you shouldn't. So stop worrying about the little kid. If I didn't know better I would have said you were jealous". "I am not jealous" I said a little too loud. "I didn't say you were" he said innocently before picking up his coat. "Where are you going to?"I asked "I have a date" he replied grinning. "Really tyler?" "Huh?" "You are just gonna bail out on me this way,this is so unfair". I whined. "Life is so unfair my dear and I didn't know what you came to the office to do...to while away time I guess and I have kept you company for close to two hours,I can't keep on bailing out on my girlfriend this way. She might just break up with me after everything". "You can cry on my shoulder if she does that" I teased. "Really now Kim? She wouldn't because we are gonna have a mind-blowing date today and who knows we might end the night with a mind-blowing...." "That's enough...you can be on your way now" I shoed him out. "This is so unfair,you won't even listen to what I am about to say right now" "No I won't listen to you telling me about your sex life with your girlfriend". "See you later Kim" he said before kissing my cheeks, more like licking my cheeks because his tongue drew a wet slime of spit on my cheeks. Disgusting idiot. "F--k you Tyler" I said before pushing him away. "Your place or mine?" He teased. "Go and f--k yourself in hell" I said wiping his spit from my cheeks. "Ouch, that hurts". Idiot. I looked around dejectedly,time to retire home I guess. The office is so silent. 'Today is Saturday silly' What would Charlotte be doing now? She would be having a good time with the Diego guy and Ashton. Charlotte was not a stubborn child and she warms up to people as long as there is fun and chocolates,yes chocolates. Chocolates is dear to her life. It's so dear to her whole existence. Surprisingly,I didn't feel bad about her meeting her dad because I thought about it after Lucy's advice and I was happy I made the right decision. She should be able to live a normal life with two parents like most kids. But who is the little guy? Definitely not Ashton's kid right? "Kim forget about it,why does it matters if the little boy is Ashton's kids or not? Just forget about it". I told myself. I picked my bag before exiting the building.

<<<<<<<<<<• "I am Ashton's elder sister, Diego's mother" the lady Introduced herself. Ashton called me to come and pick Charlotte's up.

No,I didn't meet them at the park,I met them in a desert parlor not too far from the park and that was where I met this pretty lady too. "I am Kim" I introduced myself. "I know who you are" she grinned at me. Okay that was new,I didn't expect any member of Ashton's family to be nice to me. It felt good to hear her say she is Ashton's sister and Diego's mom because I had gotten different ideas in my head concerning the little guy parents and I have no idea why. I was just curious I guess. "I must say your daughter is very adorable and I already love her" she gushed and I smiled at her. "Thank you. The little guy here is smart too" I said gesturing to her son that was so engrossed in picking the flavor of the ice cream he wants. Charlotte was there too with Ashton. "You have no idea how much trouble he is and I was really glad when Ashton decided to take him out with him today. I had a few hours to rest" she smiled again. When is she never smiling,the lady was pregnant she definitely deserved rest and little kids could be an handful at times. "Little kids can be an handful some times". "You have no idea. I am glad he made a new friend today...." "Mommy!!" A loud squeal interrupted her,it was Charlotte. She finally noticed I have been standing here for close to ten minutes while she was busy thinking of ice cream. "Hi Charlotte" I greeted before pulling her away when I felt a wet liquid on my clothe,I pulled a napkin from my bag wiping my ice cream stained cloth before wiping her mouth with it. "We have to be on our way now. It's getting late and our dear uncle decided he got to be elsewhere thereby stressing my baby and i to come here" she said rubbing her protruding stomach to emphasize her statement. I almost rolled my eyes at her exaggeration. "I told you I wasn't going to drop him off that I had somewhere to be at before now" Ashton argued. "Can't I got with you uncle Ash?" The little boy asked. "No you can't" Ashton deadpanned. "Deciding to go out with diego today is a whole different level for Ashton. I think my son terrifies him and I see no reason why because Diego is adorable" she whispered to me but Ashton still heard and he glared at her. "Anyways we have to be on our way. I don't do too well with the steering wheel when it gets dark" she said and I nodded. "Charlotte won't you say goodbye to aunty?" She asked. "Goodbye"Charlotte mumbled before focusing on the ice cream. "Diego say bye to Kim and Charlotte" she nudged the little guy who was obviously still mad at Ashton for refusing to go with him. "Goodbye Charlotte, Goodbye Kim" he said waving his hands. His mom smiled at us once more and the little guy glared at Ashton and Ashton glared at him too before his mom dragged him away. That was pretty awkward or should I say amusing. There is a love hate relationship between Ashton and the little boy. My thoughts was cut short by Ashton clearing his throat. D--n if that was not embarrassing,I cleared every hint of smile on my face before putting on a neutral look. "We would be on our way too" I said out of courtesy. It was awkward that we were alone outside the ice cream parlor, Charlotte was here too but she was focusing on her unfinished ice cream. "I am glad you agreed to let her see me. Thank you for giving me the opportunity after everything that transpired between us". "I did it for my child" I said curtly. "Would you ever forgive me?" He asked and I looked away. I don't know and I don't think I can just yet. I didn't want to think of it. "I think we would be on our way now" I said again ignoring his earlier question. "Charlotte say goodbye" I said nudging her sides and this time she looked up,she didn't look confused. "Goodbye". "C'mon,come and give me a hug" he said and she nodded before running into his arms. That was adorable. 'shut up Kim,just shut up'.
