Sasha quickly called Hanson’s lawyer. She met up with her and they both went to the police station.

“Sit here and I’ll quickly see what’s going on and if I can bail him”, the lawyer said to her and she nodded.

She sat down and after a while she got up and started pacing back and forth, thinking of a way to help him.

She took out her phone and called her dad.

“Hey dad”.

“Sasha what a surprise!”

“Yeah. I need a favor”.

“Wow. A how are you would have been nice”.

“Dad I know you’re fine. I just need a favor and I’ll surely repay you for it”.

“Sasha c’mon. You know I’d do anything for you and I’m always happy when you come to me for help. What is it?”

“I need one of the best lawyers you know to work with my friend’s lawyer. And if you know anyone at the police station at Damstar Estate, please call them and request a release of Hanson Carr”.

“Wait. What’s happening? Are you in trouble?”

“My friend is in trouble and dad I care about him so you have to put your all to help me out”.

“What exactly is his crime?”

“He had a fight with Ross and Ross got him arrested. But it was Ross who triggered everything and there’s more and that’s why I’ll need a lawyer”.

“Ross? As in Ross, your boyfriend?”

“Dad. He’s not my boyfriend anymore and he’s being a huge pain in my ass now and I’m ready to take him down”.

As she was speaking, she saw Hanson stepping out with his lawyer.

“Dad. I think he’s out but please get me the lawyer as soon as possible. I’ll talk to you later. Love you. Bye”, she said and she hanged up.

“Hanson”, she called out as she rushed towards him.

“Are you fine? I was really worried”.

“He’s fine. I got him out on bail but they’re still pressing charges and so this would be taken to court or we can meet them and settle”, The lawyer said to her and Sasha observed her. Due to how tensed Sasha was at first, she didn’t take a good look at the lawyer and now she saw that she was quite pretty and could be in her late 20s.

“I don’t think it can be settled. Knowing Ross he would want to deal with Hanson”.

“I’m also going to sue him for tampering with a sealed police report, defamation and for harassing me since I started working for him and then finally I’ll sue him for firing me for no accurate reason”.

“He fired you?” The lawyer asked.

“I’m not sure yet Chloe but he said he will. So I’ll go to work tomorrow and see what happens”.

“When you get to work and it happens, make sure you ask what you’re being fired for and get it on record. Also go to the HR to make a complain and get that on record too”, Chloe said to him.

“I called my dad and requested for one of the best lawyers in the city”.

“Sasha I already have a lawyer”.

“I know that. But I know Ross and we’ll need all hands on deck. So the lawyer will work with yours”.

“I work better on my own”, Chloe said to her.

“And I’m sure you’ll work best with an extra hand”, Sasha said, smiling.

“I work alone Miss”.

“This isn’t about you. It’s about getting Hanson the justice he deserves”.

“And I can get that. I did that for him when he was wrongfully accused before”.

“He went to jail right? Maybe if you worked with someone better. He wouldn’t have gone to jail at all”.

“Am I missing something here? Are you his sister or what are you exactly?” Chloe asked.

“That’s enough. Chloe I’ll appreciate it if you work with whoever she’s getting. It’s for my own good. I need all hands on deck”, Hanson said to her.

“Hmmm. No problem. Can I drop you off?” Chloe asked.

“Don’t worry. I’ll find my way home and thank you for coming to my aid. I’ll send in the money for the bail and please let me know how much it’s going to cost for you take on this case”.

“Sure. Have a nice night. Give me a call tomorrow”, she said, hugging him and she walked out of the police station.

Sasha and Hanson also walked out of the police station.

“I’ll meet with the lawyer tomorrow and then we’ll meet with you and we’ll see how everything goes”.

“Thank you. But I’ll be the one to pay the lawyer”.

“I don’t think you can afford him. Just let me handle it”.

“No Sasha. You’ve already done enough by getting him or her to even be on my case”.

“Why don’t you want me to help you. Is it because I’m a woman”.

“Not really but you’re just my friend and I can’t have you doing something this huge for me”.

“Han you’ve done quite a lot for me. You’ve been there for me and you’ve made me happy a lot of times. I want to do the same for you”.

“Then just be at my side too. You don’t have to involve money”.

“Hmm. If you were the wealthy one and I was you, and I was in this kind of trouble. Wouldn’t you want to help me by paying whoever it is”.

“I will but if you ask me to back off. I will back off and support you in anyway I can”.

“Hmm. But Han you honestly can’t afford the lawyer. Let’s do it this way. I can lend you the money and you pay in installments”.

“Hmm. That’s better”.

“Great. Can I drop you off?”

“Yeah. Were you expecting me to walk back?” He asked, chuckling and she laughed.

They got into her car and she drove off.

“About the kiss. I’m really sorry for doing that. I overstepped my boundaries. I don’t want to seem like I’m taking advantage of you”.

“I actually feel that way”.

“That I’m taking advantage of you?” She asked.

“No. That I’m taking advantage of you”.

“You’re not Han”.

“Great”, he said to her. They arrived at his place and he got off.

“Thank you so much Sasha. I’ll see you tomorrow”.

“Can I come in? I don’t feel like going home”, she said to him.

“I don’t think it’s a good idea”.

“Are you afraid that I’m going to kiss you again?” She asked, laughing.

“I’m afraid that we’ll take things too far without even talking about whatever this is”.

“Whatever this is?”

“Sasha. I do have feelings for you and…”

“I have the same feelings too”, she said, interrupting him.

“I know that but I don’t want this to be a fling or anything of that sort. I want us to take our time and build a strong friendship first and then we’ll see where that leads to”.

“Hmm. Okay. I hear you”, she said to him.

“Drive safely and have a good night”, he said to her and she drove off.

Hanson walked into the hotel and went straight to the locker room to change into his chef outfit.

“Hey Hanson, the manager wants to see you in her office”, one of the chefs in the locker room said to him.

“Now?”

“Yeah”, he said and Hanson went straight to the locker room.

“Hi Mrs Payton”, he said to her and she forced a smile.

“Take a seat”, she said to him and he sat down.

“Hanson you’ve been a remarkable person since you joined us and honestly you’ve been the best chef we’ve had so far and it hurts me that I’ll have to let you go”.

“What? Am I fired?”

“Yes”, she said, handing over an envelope to him and he opened it and read it.

“This says that I’m being fired for assault on the CEO”.

“Yes please and I really don’t know what lead to that”.

“This happened outside the work place and it wasn’t even an assault. I admit that I punched him first but he started it. He came at me with a wrong accusation and…”

“Hanson, I can’t do anything about this. If you have a problem, I suggest that you take it up with HR”.

“Sure. Thank you”.

“I wish you all the best”, she said to him and he left.

He went to the HR manager’s office and made a complaint.

“I’m sorry Mr Carr but having a fight with the CEO is a huge reason for termination”.

“According to the code of conduct. A fight with occurs outside the working premises doesn’t result to termination unless it affects the company’s reputation. Also if it did, I’m supposed to stand before the disciplinary committee before any decisions are made”.

“I see you read well but what makes you think that and a disciplinary committee would let you stay after assaulting the CEO”.

“I would let them know how I’ve been harassed by him and also how he came to a party he wasn’t invited to, to defame my name and wrongfully accusing me of something huge and I told him to stop and he still continued which lead to a punch and he fought back. So we’re both in hot waters for this if there’s one”.

“You threw the first punch and it’s assault. Also it can ruin the company’s image because there was an audience present”.

“It was just one person”.

“It’s still an audience. I’m sorry Mr Hanson but your termination cannot be revoked”.

“Great. I’ll see you all in court then”, he said and he walked away.

Sasha and her friends were having their lunch at a restaurant as they talked about their day.

“Sasha you seem quiet. What’s up?” Ralph asked.

“I’m in a huge conflict and I don’t know if what I’m doing is right”.

“What is it?” Rachel asked and she told them everything.

“I think it’s unfair to side with Hanson against Ross. I think it’s best you leave both of them to fight it out in court”, Lilian said to her.

“But I got them in this position. Ross felt threatened by Hanson and he took it too far by digging up his past. I’m sure Ross has a lot of skeletons in his closet and he wouldn’t be cool if someone did that to him especially if it’s a sealed document”.

“That’s true but I think Lilian is right”, Rachel said. “Besides what if Hanson is just using you”.

“He’s not using me. I like him and he likes me”, she said to them.

“What? You like him? Sasha he’s not even in your league. You need someone who can take care of you and not the other way round”, Rachel exclaimed.

“I don’t think that’s fair. Both the man and the woman have to take care of each other. And it’s not like he’s a pauper. He has his own money and he’s working. I don’t think Sasha needs his money to be taken care of. C’mon, he took her to church, he’s made her happy and he makes her calm. Isn’t that a way of taking care of someone?” Ralph asked.

“I agree with Ralph. I mean I wouldn’t date Hanson though because I want someone who has money to shower me with money, he can be my play toy though”, Alicia said

“Be serious Alicia”, Ralph said to her.

“Fine fine. I agree with you. Look at all the guys Sasha has dated, did she ever care for their money? All she wanted was someone to make her happy and someone she could talk to and I think she’s found that person. So don’t let money be the problem. Sasha has enough and there is still more time. Who knows what can happen. He can blow up in the future”.

“Exactly. I didn’t know that you were this sensible”, Ralph said to her and she rolled her eyes.

“Hmm. That makes sense but I still don’t think you should be involved in this. Let them fight it out themselves”, Rachel said to her.

“Yeah. I think you should let them fight it out. Ross is not your enemy and I still think he cares about you. Don’t make him one because of Hanson”, Ralph said to her.

“Okay. But I already requested for a lawyer for him. So I’d just let them meet and then I’ll stay away from it”.

“That’s better”, Rachel said to her.

“I’m still team Ross. All he’s done is love you and want you back”, Lilian said to her.

“But I told him that I need time and space to grow and better myself and he was still trying to force things. If he really cared, he would have let me be and be supportive. He’s not even asked me about therapy and how things are going and all that. How’s that love?”

“You have a point”, Alicia said to her.

They talked for a while and then they all went back to work.

Later in the day, Sasha met with the lawyer, Hanson and Chloe at the conference room in her work place.

Hanson told the lawyer everything that happened.

“This case seems more like a personal vendetta against you. You’ll definitely win if we get all our facts straight”.

“Okay. I’ll excuse you all now. It’s better I stay out of this”, Sasha said and she left.

“Did you get the recordings I asked you to get?” Chloe asked.

“Yeah. I have it on my phone”.

“Great”.

“Let’s get to work then. Chloe work on the lawsuits and I’ll work on the documentation and investigation”, the lawyer said to her.

“I’m the lead counsel on this. So you don’t tell me what to do”.

“I have more experience than you ma’am. This isn’t about who’s lead counsel or not. I think this is the best way to approach this”.

“I think you should work on the suits and I’ll do the rest”.

“Great if something goes wrong on our first hearing, I’ll take over from there”.

“Nothing would go wrong! I assure you”.

“Great. We’ll be in touch Mr Carr”, the lawyer said and he left.

“I don’t like him and I still think I should work on this myself”, she said to him.

“Chloe I know you’re the best and I trust that you’ll get me what I deserve but getting extra help doesn’t hurt”.

“Yeah. Why are we even meeting here?”.

“It was just to get us to meet the lawyer”.

“Our next meeting should be at my firm”.

“No problem”.

“I really do miss you Hanson. It’s been a while we talked after the whole incident. I hope you’re not mad at me for what I did”.

“I don’t blame you. We were too excited and we drank a lot and it lead to whatever. I’m over it though”.

“Thank you. So I’m not just your lawyer right?”

“We’re friends”.

“Great. Then you should visit sometime”.

“I will after this whole thing is over”.

“Okay. I’ll see you later. Bye”, she said, hugging him and she pecked him on the cheek.

“Are lawyers supposed to do that to their clients?” Sasha asked, walking in.
