My promiscuous life cost me so much, I didn’t know my son would have to pay for my sins. I haven’t been myself since the day my son got kidnapped and later died. I’m losing my mind. I can’t forgive myself. I have not been able to sleep peacefully, I keep having nightmares of Daisy death, and Mayowa screaming in that horrible ghastly accident, all because of me…” his voice broke, he bent his head and I could tell he was crying.

I was fighting tears myself, that a young innocent lady had lost her life in pains, and an innocent child had to pay for what he knew nothing about.

“I don’t deserve to live, my son died because of me, a son I love more than my own life. I don’t know how to stop the pain and guilt from eating me alive!!”

“Invite Jesus into your life Uncle Ade”

He looked at me for a while, and then spoke

“I womanized shamelessly, failed my son as a father, I killed him. What can Jesus do for someone like me?”

“Come now, let us settle the matter, says the Lord. Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool”

“Is that in the Bible?”

“Why does it feel like He’s speaking to me in particular?”

“Actually, He is, making an irresistible offer”

“Sounds too good to be true”

“I thought so too in the beginning, until I learned of the never-ending love of God”

“The lights were switched off; how did you know I was in here?”

The change of topic saddened me,

“The Holy spirit prompted me. He led me here”

Pause,

“He led you to me” He said in wonder

“How can I give my life to Jesus Eki?

That’s the least I could do for this kind of love He has shown me”

I felt the joy overflow in my spirit, and a smile worked its way to my lips.

“Uncle Ade pls say after me” I said holding his hands

“Lord Jesus, I thank you for the life of Uncle Ade, thank you for saving his soul, thank you for cleansing him in Your blood. Help him to love You and serve You. keep him in You. In Jesus name I’ve prayed. Amen”

Uncle Ade opened his eyes, it was obvious something had changed within him

“I feel light, something huge seems to have been lifted off me. This is amazing, I have never felt this amazing in my entire life”

“Eki, thank you so much”

“Thank Jesus”

“I have some questions”

I spent the next hour answering several questions by the help of the Holy spirit about his new found faith. The joy was written all over him.
