Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 14

~You see, we girls are naturally attracted to each other. It’s some sort of motherly instincts that lies in us. We play with each other’s hair, share the same bed, call each other sweet names, do silly stuffs together and share our secrets. That’s why we’re women. We feel comfortable with each other in our own skin~

Sharon’s word’s came rushing into my head as I laid in bed, staring at the ceiling.

If what Sharon said was true, then why do I not feel the same way towards Efua?

~I love you, Lucy~

I can’t get that word out of my head.

~So would you want to be my school daughter? I’d take good care of you. No senior would ever bully you and I can even help you with your studies if you like~

Turning my face, I stared at Collette.

She was wide awake, playing chess. She wasn’t reading anything this night, just playing chess in deep silence, her back turned to me.

For the first Time, I got to see her a little differently. She was in her pyjamas trousers but her shirt was off. Only her white brassier was on.

Somehow, she looked soo irresistible tonight. Look at her skin, soo soft and beautiful.

I want to touch her.

Then I remembered the slaps I received in the evening from her and I retraced my thoughts.

How did I come to this? From a sweet innocent girl to a…a fookin’ pervert.

I laid back in bed, tossing from one side to another with a deep frown on my face.

This was one big fookin’ complication.

I have a craving for Collette…

But she is in love with Vee….

Efua loves me…..

But I have no idea how to accept her feelings for me….

Efua and Collette are enemies and yet I can’t imagine how my relationship with these two girls would end up…..

Then there’s also Continuous Accesment Test next week and my forth coming first term examination.

I haven’t gone a quarter of the term’s academic curriculum.

This whole madness began because of Collette. She started it and now she’s pushing me away. The most annoying aspect of all my troubles was her refusal to help me with my studies.

I figured if I could join THE LILIES, I’d have no trouble with my test and exams.

Collette grunted, scratching the back of her arm as she played the next move on the chess board. She always plays alone. I’ve never seen anyone soo introverted in my life.

Tomorrow was Saturday. There would be no class ofcourse, but then again, it would pay to partake in club activities.

Rolling off the bed, I stretched my back and walked over to the study table. I drew a chair out and sat down before Collette.

She didn’t look up. She sat still, focused on the game she was playing. It was as if I was invisible.

I watched her as she made a move, then another move.

We remained in silence for a while when she finally spoke. ” Shouldn’t you be in bed by now?”

” I suppose so,” I said, looking lost at what she was playing. ” But I can’t sleep.”

She removed a pieces and replaced it with another pieces. ” So what do you want now?”

” Listen, Collette,” I began. ” About what I said earlier this evening… I’ve been thinking. Why don’t you…I don’t know, help me study?”

She was lost in concentration. ” I’m busy.”

” I’ll pay you anything,” I offered. ” There’s no need for me to join THE LILIES, you can just teach me—”

” I said I’m busy.”

This got a frown from me. I waited for her to say something but she didn’t say anything.

” You really are one nasty b*tch you know that, don’t you?”

She didn’t answer.

I got mad. ” I’m only asking because I’m the one making the offer and request. Although I was really hoping you’d say no and turn me down.”

She made her last move. ” Checkmate! I won.”

She was talking to herself and not me. This got me even more perplexed but I kept my cool. I decided to play a different strategy.

” Well, I met with Efua this night,” I said, watching her closely. ” We spent some time together during night prep.”

I paused to watch her reaction but I could get nothing out of her. She was Soo calm and quiet.

I continued. ” She asked to be my school mom and I accepted.”

” Good for you,” her voice came in slow flow. Then she glanced up at me. ” Congratulations.”

And here I thought, she was going to get angry or throw a tantrum or something but she did not. This girl was as calm as a statue.

Nothing seems to spook her.

” She also confessed to me,” I added, sounding husky. ” She wants us to start going out.”

Collette studied me. ” And let me guess, you accepted her offer?”

” I told her to give me time,” I crossed my legs. ” I’m yet to give her an answer.”

I seemed to have gotten Collette’s entire attention. She had completely forgotten about her chess game.

” So what does that have to do with me?”

” A lot,” I said, seriously. ” I don’t think it’d be hard for Efua to get me into THE LILIES.”

Collette fingers began drumming on the table. She was giving herself Time to think. ” What makes you think she is a member.”

” Because she told me,” I lied.

Collette frowned. ” That’s against the code. She isn’t supposed to give out that information like that.”

” What can I say, she loves me.”

” You’re too young to be thinking about relationships, Lucy,” she said. ” That’s not what you were sent to school to do.”

” But you started it all. Stealing my first kiss, getting me pinned against the wall, making me wet and hungry for pleasure, it was all you.”

Collette eyelids lowered. ” Why are we even having this conversation?”

” Because I want you to understand something very important,” I leaned forward at her. ” I’m taking sides with Efua now. I know she’s not your favorite person but still, she’s shown a dying interest in me. I told her about my problems and she was willing to help in whatever way she can. Look, I don’t know why you’re this hard and remote towards me. You owe me your life, remember? All I’m asking for is to help me study. How hard can that be? I understand you are one busy girl but the fact that I saved your life is enough reason why you are bounded to help me.”

She took in a deep breath, chewing her lips. ” Lucy, it’s barely three days to C.A test day. What sort of help do you want me to help you with? You’re not ready, yet. Whenever you’re ready, I’d know.”

” I’m ready now!”

” Are you?” She hummed. ” I doubt it.”

I tightened my lips. ” Try me.”

She paused for a while then stood up and leaned over the table towards me. Her cold fingers held my face and she brought her lips close to mine.

But she didn’t kiss me.

She just stood there, a breath close to my nose. I could feel my lips twitching as I inhaled in her hot breath.

Then she pulled away from me and returned back to her seat. ” Did she kissed you tonight?”

I snapped out of my whrily mind and returned to her. ” Who?”

” Vice president.”

She was still avoiding to mention Efua’s name.

” How did you know?”

Collette leaned back on her seat and looked away into the darkness. ” Because I could smell her on your lips.”

I wanted to say something but she interrupted me.

” I’ll help you, Lucy,” she paused then continued. ” And not just because you saved my life. I’m doing this because I don’t want you getting the wrong ideas and Making wrong decisions for yourself.”

” So you will help me?”

She nodded. ” But on one condition.”

” What condition?”

She leaned forward towards me, her eyes serious and hard. ” That you’d stop seeing the vice president.”

” You want me to….” I paused as I finally understood what she meant. ” You want me to stop seeing Efua?”

” That’s right,” she answered. ” Do that and I’ll help you with your problem.”

I sat there on my seat, watching her with my mouth shut.

??????

” Hey, I’m sorry, alright?” I pleaded, holding Sharon’s hand. ” I’m sorry for my attitude last night. I was just….I had a lot on my mind.”

Sharon was looking at me closely. ” It’s alright, Lucy. I understand what you’re going through.”

” Please,” I took in a deep breath. ” I’ll appreciate it if you stop being mad at me.”

” No, I’m not mad,” Sharon smiled, patting my head. ” Don’t worry, we’re best friends. I understand what you’re going through. C’mon I’m not mad. I was before but not anymore.”

” Oh, Sharon,” I hugged her. ” Thank you Soo much.”

” So you mind telling me how you got those swollen cheeks from yesterday? And by the way, where were you throughout night prep?”

I decided I wasn’t going to tell her what exactly happened. I lied I got in trouble with some seniors and that during night prep I was pressed that’s why I used the toilet.

The funny thing with Sharon was that she trusted me to the core. Even if I keep lying to her, she’d still believe me.

” Today is club activities,” she said quickly. ” So you coming for today’s volleyball practice?”

” Actually,” I smiled uneasily. ” I have other plans.”

” Plans?”

” Yeah, I’m joining the chess club today,” I said.

Sharon was looking surprisingly at me. ” What in heaven’s name are you going to do at the chess club?”

” I just wanted to be part of them,” I replied. ” I made that decision last night.”

Sharon kept staring at me. ” Lucy, I do admire your nerve but are you sure you want this? The chess club are crammed with nerds. It’s the most boring club activity in school.”

I shrugged. ” I don’t mind.”

But the truth was it really wasn’t my intention to join the chess club.

Collette made me. She said joining the club would contribute to my academic success. I saw no reason why I should join a boring club to pass my papers.

And yet, I’m going to join it because I had no other choice.

Throughout the morning till noon,I avoided Efua. Twice I saw her but the moment I laid sight of her, I immediately hide myself.

I said yes to Collette and now I had to keep to my own side of the deal. This was what I wanted wasn’t it?

The gym house was used for the chess club. It wasn’t much of a club with just about eight members.

Sharon was right. It was the most boring club in the entire school.

Everyone was paired off with a table and on each table was a chess board, a chess timer and some note pad.

I recognized most of the nerds but the rest were strangers to me.

Alright, Lucy. Act cool. Don’t get intimated. You’re just as smart as they are.

And so I marched to an empty table with a chess board and timer. Sitting down, I stared at the board and the pieces before me.

Too bad I had no idea how to play these stuff. This is going to be a long day.

From where I sat, I saw a junior student. She was deep and lost in concentration as she played all by herself.

Another Collette. I rolled my eyes.

Returning my eyes back to the board, I took in a deep breath and started playing by myself.

Oh well, if anyone can do it. I can do it.

Didn’t know what I was playing. I was just moving my hands on the board playing rubbish.

” That’s not how to play the game,” a familiar voice spoke behind me.

I stiffened and glanced up to see Collette. She was studying the game I was playing, her mouth bended in disgust.

” How long have you been here?” I asked cause I had no idea when she came in.

” Long enough to see you play,” she turned around, drew out a seat and sat down. ” You still have a lot to learn, Lucy.”

I groaned. ” This club is boring.”

She shrugged, arranging the pieces back on the board. ” What’s your definition of boring?”

” It’s no fun,” I whined. ” Everyone’s Soo quiet and the game looks strange and all.”

” That’s your first lesson,” Collette said, quietly. ” To become successful, you have to stand out in the crowd. You need your space, your time and some peace and quiet.”

” So how’s this going to help my grades, huh?”

” Chess is mathematics,” Collette explained. ” It’s not just any ordinary board game. It’s involves a lot of calculations, strategic thinking’s and great attacking formats.”

Sharon was right. Boring.

” I’m doomed,” I lamented. ” This game is silly.”

” Not if you want me to help you,” she paused, staring at me. ” You remember our deal right?”

Yup, I stay off Efua.

” I remember.”

” Good,” she said, her eyes full of ice chips. ” I don’t want you near her ever again, is that understood?”

This girl was one freaky chick. Why would she want me off Efua? She wouldn’t give me an answer to that question last night.

” Understood,” I replied, feeling a little guilty.

” Beautiful,” she returned her eyes back to the pieces. ” Alright, let’s begin. We’ll start by naming all the pieces.”

??????

Finally, chess was over.

Fresh air, fresh air, fresh air!!!!!!!

I can breath well now.

That was the most boring game ever. I nearly dozed off in-between our game. I had mastered the names of all the pieces but then I had to master how to lay out good battling formation, checking the king, using my bishops, going for exchange, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

I hated it all. I can’t seemed to grasped anything.

Collette told me it’d take time for me to learn but with the way things are going, I wasn’t sure I will ever get to learn anything in that club.

I was the first person to reach the hostel today. I felt tired and washed out. I figured after taking a cool long shower, I’d lay down in bed and sleep for like an hour or two before dinner.

I walked into the elevator and shot myself up to my floor. It rode upwards until it finally stopped on my floor.

I yawned, moving slowly towards my room. The moment I slid in the keys and turned it, I heard rushing footsteps behind me.

I turned around sharply but it was already too late.

I was pushed into the room by the stranger.

My eyes wide opened, I stared at her in shock. ” Efua, what are you doing?”

She was glaring dangerously at me. ” Why are you avoiding me?”

By now, we were inside the room. She was holding me by my shirt. ” Efua, please. This is….this is crazy. You can’t be in this room. Collette—”

” You still haven’t answered my question,” she was fuming. ” Why have you been avoiding me. I saw you twice today but all you ever did was hide away.”

This was bad. If Collette comes in here and see us, she’d raise blue murder.

” I wasn’t hiding.”

” Yes you were. I saw you.”

” Efua,” I tried struggling off her grip. ” Let’s not do this here. Can we talk about this outside?”

She became silent. Her eyes were shaking with rage. ” So it was Collette who told you to stay away from me, wasn’t she?”

” And what if I did?” Came a sharp voice from the doorway.

Efua and I stiffened and tore ourselves from each other.

Standing by the doorway, a book in her hand, was Collette.

My mouth opened and closed and the blood from my face drained away.

” C–Collette…”
