A month had past since my split with Tony and Life wasn’t a bowl of cherry anymore and I was back right where I started… But this wasn’t the case at first.. The day I split up with Tony.. I returned everything he had given me.. The Cars, clothes and jewelries.. Everything.. I even wanted to give him the money he gave me but Cecilia insisted I use it to do something useful with it.. I didn’t heed her words cause I wasn’t going to use the money of some idiot who called me a gold digger.. I don’t care if I’m broke again, at least I have to maintain my pride as well.

So in the end.. I gave some of the money to Regina, I donated some to community service and then I gave the rest to homeless children.. At least they need the money more than I do.

As the days passed, I was in Regina’s house doing nothing.. I couldn’t go out not when people are busy talking about me and Tony.. But as I got bored, I decided to get off my a** and get some work…

I applied as a waitress at one exclusive restaurant.. Thanks to my natural charm and beauty, the manager hired me without interview.. The pay wasn’t much but at least I could take care of myself and my brother..

The day I started working in the restaurant.. It was quite disturbing because the customers soon realized who I was… Most of the customers especially the women hated me so much because their dates were staring at me as I served them… But I ignored them all and paid attention to my work… As the days followed the restaurant was soon filled and packed with customers especially the male customers who bombarded the restaurant hoping to get a chance to get between my legs.. They must be crazy if they think I’m going to give them that opportunity.

The manager Mr. Yakubu was pleased with the progress and he gave me a raise.. I thanked him so much and dedicated myself to my job.

One interesting about this job is that you see different characters of people.. You’ll see the fakers, the losers, the winners, and the weird ones.. Among the weird ones.. There is one fair attractive lady, that always sits and eats alone, she also orders the same thing which was chicken pepper soup. She doesn’t talk or say much, she just sits down, consume her pepper soup, pays and leaves. I couldn’t help but wonder about her.. Her features and appearance were so radical but hot.. She had a tattoo on the side of her neck and she always puts on black clothes and she had this habit of playing with knifes.. Out of curiosity, I decided to approach and know more about her.. Maybe she’s in some kind of trouble.

One evening, I was done with my shift and was about to go home, when I spotted this lady… She was standing alone outside on the road.. She had a gloomy expression on her face. So I approached her to get acquainted.

Linda Uhm.. Excuse me?

Lily Yes?

Linda Good evening.. Remember me?

Lily Yeah.. You’re the hot waitress everyone wants to sleep with.

Linda Okay..

Lily Sorry. I didn’t mean to say that.. My name is Lily by the way.

Linda My name is Linda.. Nice to meet you.

Lily Thanks… Since there’s no taxi.. Why don’t we walk ahead instead of standing here?

Linda Okay sure.. Let’s go.

Lily and I walked for minutes, and there still was no taxi.. The streets were getting dark and there were hardly people on the road. I however was getting worried.. The streets were dangerous at night and one has to be careful of rape from street thugs.. As if lily was reading my mind, she asked if everything was okay.

Lily Are you feeling alright? You looked scared and shaky.

Linda Yeah.. Its just that I don’t like staying out late on the streets at night.

Lily Well, there’s nothing to be afraid of.. However there is one thing you should know.

Lily Which is?

Before I knew what was happening.. Lily grabbed hold of me and covered my face with a white rag…. There was something on the rag that smelled way too strong, I struggled to break free but Lily was strong as a bull.. Before long, I passed out and fainted.

A bit later, I was woken by a splash of cold water.. I woke up abruptly, looking at my surroundings wondering where I was, but my vision was blurry and my head was paining me.. I had to calm myself so I could get control over my senses, after a while, I was beginning to see things clearly and as I looked up, I saw Lily sitting in front of me.. She was eating an apple while she stared at me. I tried to break loose but I was tired hand and foot.. Out of desperation, I asked her where I was.

Linda What’s going on? Lily… What’s the meaning of this?

Lily

Linda Answer me! What’s going on?

Lily Relax sunshine… Let me tell you everything… I’ve being hired to.. well get rid of you and your brother but I couldn’t touch your brother after realizing the condition he was in.. So I decided to what your movements.. And you made things easy for me by being friendly. I appreciate that really but business is business.

Linda What are you saying? Get rid of me? Why? Who are you?

Lily Linda.. I’m an assassin for hire and I’ve been hired to kill you.. I’m sorry but don’t take this the hard way. Nothing personal just business.. I’m going to make it quick….

I was shocked to hear this… Lily is an assassin, hired to kill me.. But why? What I have done? Who could have sent her? Could it be Tony? It can’t be..

While I was battling all this thoughts in my head.. Lily approached me, pulling out two daggers from her back, she grabbed my hair pulling her hair backwards, she placed the sharp blade on my neck, looking straight into my eyes.. I couldn’t believe this was the end for me! What would Regina or my brother react if they saw my corpse and my throat open.. In that moment, I closed my eyes and prayed to God to save me, so I could see my brother and Regina one more time.. even if I’m going to die later on.
