Heather’s POV

Yesterday, we ended up staying really late at the shelter, so we decided to just sleep here. Right now, I’m trying to sleep in as much as possible because I haven’t slept this peacefully in such a long time! I groaned from the sunlight, and snuggled into my pillow some more. My pillow feels like heaven, it’s so warm and soft! I felt it wrap its arms around me. Wait, since when did pillows have arms? I opened my eyes and came face to face with a gigantic teddy bear. I heard someone snort, and I looked up to see Hillary looking at me in amusement. She was biting her lip to keep from laughing. “Why am I wrapped up with a gigantic teddy bear?” I asked her. “The poor teddy bear was lying there and you tangled yourself with it in your sleep.” I lifted my head and saw that one of my legs was between the teddy bear’s legs, my arms were wrapped around its waist, and my head was stuck in its neck. I was basically hugging it, but my hands were gripping its butt. I guess when I pulled it closer the arms flopped around my waist.

I quickly released the poor teddy bear and stood up. “Okay then.” I said sheepishly. Hillary apparently couldn’t hold it in any longer and burst out laughing. I was turning red, and she was crying in laughter. “I-I c-can’t b-believe you molested a teddy bear!” She panted out between laughs. “Haha, very funny Hillary, I didn’t molest it. I just….cuddled it.” I denied. “Right, now lets go, Mrs. Harper took the day off, so we are cooking breakfast.” She said once she wiped her tears. I nodded and looked around the room, before a sudden thought hit me. “Wait, what am I doing in the playroom?” “Oh, you fell asleep while playing with Aiden. We decided to leave you here because William ended up leaving for some business emergency or whatever. Plus, you’re too heavy.” “Gee, thanks.” I scrunched my nose up. My back is so stiff now. “Wait, William left? I thought it was too late to go home? That’s why I slept.” I asked confusedly. “Uh, he left like right after dinner. I don’t think he told anyone except me though, because he passed by the front desk on his way out.” “Oh, um. Let’s go make pancakes then.” I said, hooking my arm around hers. We skipped out of the room happily, though I was still wondering why William left so abruptly. “Whatever, it’s none of your business and you shouldn’t care about Mr.Bipolar.” I thought. “Aunt Heather! Aunt Heather! Aunt-” A voice called and I felt something crash into my leg. I looked down and saw a little boy with brownish- reddish hair and bright green eyes grinning at me. “Morning Aiden! You woke up very happy.” I smiled, ruffling his hair. “We are having pancakes!

I LOOOOVVVVEEEEE PANCAKES!” He squealed. I laughed and picked him up. “Well then, we need a helper. Can you wake everyone up?” “Of course. Everyone likes pancakes.” Aiden wiggled out of my arms and raced down the hall yelling, “Pancakes! Wake up sleepy-heads! Pancakes!”
