Start from the beginning  My dad started yelling at me from the door itself, “What were you thinking scaring your old man like that? I just lost 20 years.” I gave a fake sniffle, “I’m sorry dad, I didn’t mean to scare you. I just wanted to help.” He looked worried and came over to the other side of the bed, “No, don’t cry sweetheart, I didn’t mean to yell.” He hugged me gently, being wary of my stitches. I rolled my eyes and Alex and Andrew laughed. “How long was I out?”, I asked Alex. Andrew and my dad were talking to a nurse, who had just walked in to give me my painkillers. “About three hours. The surgery was finished at 3:00 AM and they transferred you to this room.”, Alex replied. I nodded, “So where are mom, Stephanie, Landon?” “They are at home. We already called them to say you woke up. They should be coming in an hour or so.” “What about William?”, I asked hesitantly. “The bastard said he was in a meeting when we called, and to call back later.” I nodded, he probably wouldn’t come by anyways.

“When can I leave this place?” “Tomorrow. You have 2 weeks of bedrest and you are gonna stay at mom and dad’s place since William has to go to work.” I groaned, “Two weeks? But that’s so long!” “Don’t worry, we’ll entertain you.”, Andrew joined into the conversation, “Here are your painkillers, take one every four hours.” “Thanks bro.”, I said as I popped a pill into my mouth. I needed them badly. “Bro? Did you guys make up or something?”, Alex asked confusedly. “Yep!”, I grinned at Andrew and he grinned right back. “That’s a relief or else it would be hell trying to live with both of you fighting.”, Dad said. “You lived with the two of us before, for more than 10 years Dad. I’m sure 2 weeks would have been nothing.”, I said frowning. “You are staying with us for a month, not two weeks. Even when you are done with your bedrest, I want to make sure you’re perfectly okay before letting you go back to your house.” I opened my mouth to protest, “No buts! I already called your work place to inform them and William will be informed later.” I sighed and nodded. Suddenly, the door slammed open and Landon leaped into the room with my mom and Stephanie in tow. “Oh my baby!”, my mom came toward me. She hugged me so tightly that I was gasping for breath. “Mom! Can’t breathe.”, I choked. “Sorry sweetie! I’m just so happy to see you alive and kicking.”, she said with tears of joy in her eyes. I laughed, “I’m not going anywhere anyways, I have to fulfill my goal of finding Alex a girlfriend.” We all laughed, except Alex. “What no way! Why me? What happened to Jason?”, he frowned. “Jason found himself a girl already, so now you’re left.” “Who did he find?”, my mom asked. “One of William’s friends named Jessica. She is a sweetheart so I think they would be great together.”, I smiled. “Speaking of which, did anyone call Chelsea, Ethan, and Jason?”, asked Dad. “Crap, they’re gonna kill me for not telling them.”, Alex cussed. He walked out to go call them. “Language, buddy.”, I called out to him. I turned to Stephanie and Landon. She was standing in the corner avoiding my eyes. “Steph, it is not your fault, I hope you realize that.”, I said softly. She looked at me, “If I had’t gone to the bathroom, none of this would have happened.” “You didn’t know there was some creep waiting there, so don’t you even dare blame yourself. Now, can you give me a hug please. I missed you two.” She ran over and gave me a warm hug. Once she pulled back, Landon squeezed me tightly. He was sleepy, as it was still early in the morning. I let him sleep next to me on the bed. I could tell I was getting sleepy myself because I yawned twice in 5 minutes. Those painkillers sure made me drowsy.

Andrew ran his hand over my hair and said, “I think we should let you rest now. We will be back soon, I think the three of us need a shower.” I nodded, closing my eyes as I drifted off into the land of rainbows ,penguins, and sunshine.
