As my pregnancy grow bigger and bigger, I had to stop working because the stress and pain I experienced was too much. It was like I have never been pregnant before because Esther’s pregnancy wasn’t stressful at all.

At first, I ignored Raymond’s advice to stop work, not until the day I fainted in the class. After much persuasion from Raymond and the principal of Marris school, I had no choice but to stop work.

The act of staying at home began to cause a problem between Raymond and I as we were constantly yelling at each other. Truth be told, he was a very busy person but he needed to create time for me. Sometimes, he will receive emergency calls in the middle of the night and will have no choice but to leave for the hospital.

This issue raged for more than two months without doing anything about it until the day he came home and met me packing my things into a traveling bag. With surprise written all over his face, he asked what was happening but i ignored him till I was done with packing my things.

After packing my things, I told him since he wasn’t ready to give me the attention and care I need then i would go where it would be given to me. I then took the box and made to leave the room but it he carried me and took the box away from me. That day, I wished I was fat so that I would have pushed him away with my body.

He pleaded and pleaded with me but I ignored his pleas and told him that no matter what he says, I will leave the house whenever he is at work. When he saw that I remained obstinate, he then promises to employ an assistant so that he would have more time for me. Hearing that softened my heart, I promise not to run away if he brings his promise to realization.

Something about Raymond was that he hated promise and fail hence he kept to his word then we became the happy couple we were before.

It was our church’s 25th anniversary and a three days crusade which was held before marking the anniversary. A guest pastor was invited to minister to us during the anniversary ceremony. The program was awesome until something unusual happened.

The pastor mounted the pulpit and started worshipping God, it was an awesome period as everyone was lost in worshipping God. After a moment of worship, he said he had prepared a message to preach but Holy Spirit told him to share his story with us.

He started by saying he was born into a godly home as his parents were pastoring a church then but the devil chose to use him as an instrument of destruction. He went on and on by saying many atrocities he committed, and experience he shared nearly made me mad.

He shared an experience where he and his two boys were paid to rape one Okpara Deborah in the University of Ibadan, he said being the one to break her hymen made him solemn. He didn’t know when he reported himself to the police and was sent to prison, he met Christ in the prison and was released after spending a year in the prison as the new government ordered the release of every prisoner.

As he was narrating his story, I was weeping silently because I was sure he was the one who raped me alongside his two boys. I took a better look at him and suddenly had a flashback of what happened. I didn’t know when I screamed and ran out of the church.

My husband understood what was happening and ran after me immediately.

He quickly held me so that I won’t do anything stupid to myself.

Raymond: please calm down dear

Me: sweetheart, he is the one, I know him. He and his boys raped me…..he is.

Raymond: calm down my love

Me: no, I won’t calm down. Don’t tell me to calm down because you don’t know the pain and disgrace I went through

Raymond was speechless, when he saw that I was already distracting people and he couldn’t calm me down, he carried me into the car and drove me home.

Getting home, our Pastor’s wife called Raymond to ask what happened but before he picked the call, he handed me a cup of water. After drinking the water, I slept off.
