I followed him inside his compound the soldiers were amazed seeing us laughing and gisting together .

” Evening sir ” the soldiers greeted him one by one . I went to the skinny soldier that beat me up mercilessly and whispered in his ears .

” I will make sure you lose your job” I laughed at him and walked away

” Karasco , you are living in a Mansion , and am very proud to have a friend like you .when I said you are bad luck I didn’t meant it . I knew this will come one day ” I spoke , as i took a glanced at him .

“Come right inside and sit down ” he said.

Just then Amara rushed downstairs and gave him a huge . ” Welcome back sweetheart. How was your flight to Dubai? am sure it was cool ” she asked in a romantic voice.

” It was cool sweetheart . You haven’t said hi to Daniel. We have finally settled. Am going upstairs to take a shower prepare us something to eat am famished ” he spoke, and hurriedly ran upstairs .

Amara glanced at me and spoke on a low voice ” you rejected 10 million naira for nothing . Anyways am sorry for what had happened. But I meant it when I said I am falling in love with you ”

” I don’t love you . And if you don’t know I have no atom of feelings for you, so get that to your brain ” I spoke wrathfully.

She got angry and left to the kitchen . I started thinking of Ada . How will I make her believe that I didn’t slept with her friend Amara I kept thinking to myself .

After some minutes later karasco walked downstairs with a cashew nuts .

” Haaaah Guy you haven’t given up eating this cashew nuts?” I asked smiling .

” Hahaha, I don’t think I can ever stop eating cashew nuts ooh, . I just like it , you know I love it back in school days ” he replied with a smile .

” Bring am here make I help you chop am ” I spoke in pigin.

As we were eating , Amara shouted from the kitchen .

” Food is ready . Come over to the dining ” she kept chanting .

We all went to the dining table.

” Baby dish enough for Daniel cause he eat a lot . I could remember back then in school before our graduation this guy finished a whole four plates of rice and two plate of pounded yam . I was marveled when he got up from the chair Asif he didn’t had anything ” Amara laughed as they both made mock of me .

I laughed as well cause it was really funny.

” Don’t mind him ooh, he is pretending as if he doesn’t eat much, he eats more than I do . Let me tell you what he did when we were living together at leki . I decided to surprise him by cooking vegetables soup and eba before he returns from lectures. The eba was enough that could take us for the whole day, I didn’t even tasted it i went to get pure water at mama chioma’s shop, but before I could returned this idiot here has finished the whole eba to himself . He can eat … Fear his stomach ooh can’t you see his pot belly has started shooting out?” I touched his belly as we all made mockery of each other .

” But baby you can eat ooh ” Amara spoke in a mockery manner .

She uncovered the flask every was stew . I watch as she dished more than enough for karasco and I. We ate like no tomorrow.

Just then karasco spoke .

” Come let me show you the way to your room ” he took me upstairs and showed me my room.

The next morning he said he was going to Abuja for a business contract.

” Karasco I will love to go with you , I haven’t been to Abuja or taking a flight before. So please break that record for me as a friend ” I spoke in a pleasant manner . The reason I don’t want to Stay back was because of Amara.

” Baby go alone . Let him stay and gist with me , he is fun to be with, and besides I don’t want to be lonely all in this big house ” Amara spoke with a crying face .

” Daniel, stay with her since she doesn’t want to stay alone ” karasco instructed .

” No , I can’t. I really want to go to Abuja with you , let her call Ada . Ada will come and keep her company after work” I spoke, wearing a sad face.

” Yes that’s true sweetheart. Call Ada she will come and keep you company . I will even call her for you myself if you don’t mind “. Karasco added.

” No that’s not necessary I will call her myself” Amara spoke wrathfully.

I hurriedly and dressed up and we drove off to the airport .

On our way I said to karasco;

“I really need money to pay for the contribution of the bridge in the village . And I seriously need a job ”

” E be like say you no wan hear word abi? I tell you say I no go fit help you . You no wan hear word ” karasco spoke in pigin.

I joined him as well in the pigin English .

“You say you no go help me ? Tell me why you no wan help me . See I really need money I don’t want to disgrace grandpa in the village . Because the elders will surely be on his neck over the bridge contribution.” I spoke wrathfully.

” Not that I don’t want to help you . I can only help you with only 50 thousand naira, if I do more than that I will die. Which I know you wouldn’t want me to die. Kia Daniel, just forget about me and go far away and enjoy your life ” he spoke in parables.

I got angry and kept quiet all through .

” Drop me here am going back home ” I spoke angrily.

” You said you want to go to Abuja abi no be weting you talk ? ” He asked in pigin.

” Ok fine . Here is a cheque of 30 million naira. Am risking my life to enrich you, but you won’t just understand. If we come back from Abuja I want you to disappear far away from me take Ada with you and leave town if possible” he spoke with fear.

I was wondering why a bastard millionaire like karasco will fear anything on earth with so much money like that . I thought to myself .

“Thanks a lot karasco. After you na you . I will choose you as a friend over and over again if given a chance ”

We got back from Abuja very late . I was taking my shower when I heard karasco on phone call.

” Yes ma’am I will be there by 11pm ”

I thought to myself what will karasco be doing out late by 11pm when everyone is asleep . I was still in thought when karasco walked in to my room and said ;

” Daniel, i want you to leave town first thing tomorrow morning if post with Ada ”

” But why would you want me to leave town ?” I asked in astonishment.

” Just do as I said ” he spoke, and left. I was wondering what was going on with karasco.

Around 11pm i rushed to karasco’s favorite jeep and entered inside folding myself to the back sit .

I heard him from the back sit telling Amara that he was going for a business meeting saying he might be back very late or might not come home at all .

He waved her farewell and drove off . I was still inside the Jeep as he went spending .

After some minutes I heard him Horned and a gate was opened, he drove in and pulled over. He got down from the car. I was inside the back sit sweating . After some minutes I opened the car gently and got down as well.

I looked round with fear it was a Mansion with plenty cars parked inside . The house was big and beautiful.

” Why did Karasco drove in here ” I thought to myself as, I started walking in to the Mansion to find out.
