Thank goodness, the weekend had arrived… During the weekends, I get to rest and unwind… No stress and no sleeping with disgusting men…

Since I wasn’t going to church anymore, I stayed at home and read the bible or watch Christian channels on satellite… During this time of the week, Regina would go wild and host a party inviting her friends…

I don’t usually stay for her parties, I’d go out and roam about the neighborhood.

So later in the evening, just minutes before Regina’s party could start, I wore my casual clothes preparing to leave the house… But before I could do that, Regina intercepted me.

Regina Where are you going?

Linda I’m going out now… I’m not going to stay for your wild parties.

Regina Why are you behaving like mother Teresa now? Live a little have some fun.

Linda Live a little abi? Before you know it you’ll be bearing a future you didn’t ask for… Sorry o… I’m leaving.

Regina See your problem bah? Always thinking negatively. Why can you be positive for once.

Linda My dear, its better like that.. My negativity will lead me to positivity… Let me put in a simple term.. Me thinking negatively to avoid problems like HIV or unwanted pregnancy, that will put my life on a positive path to free worries and wahala… I dey go o.. See you later.

I left the house and went my way… There wasn’t any place I could go to, so I just roamed about without any point of direction… Evening had already set in and soon darkness would cover the sky… So with the little spare change I had on me, I decided to go to the shopping mall to see if I could get anything…

Minutes later, I arrived at the mall, I went inside and checked to see what I could get with my money.. As I was checking what to buy.. A man approached me.. He looked quite old but he sure looked quite charming and calm.. His dressing was way too good and from the looks of it.. He was quite rich.

Man Hello..

Linda Hello.. How can I help you?

Man I was busy checking some things over there, when I saw you.. You look lovely.

Linda Thanks..

Man Can I know your name?

Linda My name is Linda..

Man Linda? What a lovely name.. I see you’re occupied?

Linda Yeah.. I was checking to see what I could buy..

Man Well, what do you want?

Linda I’m not sure..

Man Okay then, allow me to shop for you..

Linda Thank you sir but please don’t..

Before long, The man decided to buy some stuff for me.. He bought me yoghurts, cakes, drinks, and quite a lot more.. I had to stop him because he was spending a lot on me… He was quite nice though.. Such a gentleman… He invited me over to a small fast food joint which was inside the mall..As we sat on the table, he asked if there was anything I would it.. I didn’t really know what to order so I told him to do everything.. Minutes later.. The waitress brought us our meals.. It was a spaghetti jollof assorted with meat and salad and as for drinks we got cold chilled bottle of Coke.

As we were eating, we began to get more acquainted with each other… I later found out the man’s name, it was Julius okafor.. And he is a medical doctor.. He told me quiet a lot about himself and I listened with rapt attention.. Believe it or not.. I was falling for the guy.. He was quite simple and easy going.. But Despite how I felt about him, I didn’t show it.. After he was done.. He started to ask me about myself… And that was when I began to get scared.. My legs were shaking and my body was beginning to sweat.. If I lied to him about who i was… He’ll eventually find out… God what should I do?

It’s not my fault I’m in this condition but no man wants to marry prostitute. So I excused myself I went to the mall’s toilet..

As I was in the toilet, I decided to calm down and relax… Lying to him would only make things worst… Its better if I told him now.. If he wants me the way I am.. Fine.. If he doesn’t.. Fine..

So I took a deep breath and went out to meet him..But to my surprise I saw something else..

Upon arriving there.. I saw Romonike in my seat.. What was she doing?

Linda Excuse me? What’s going on here? Julius?

Romonike LINDA???

Man Uhm.. Erh.. You see.. Erh.

Romonike See as you dey vibrate like you wan shit for trouser… And who be Julius?

Linda Julius.. What is going on here?

Romonike him name no be Julius o.. Him na Clement.. You get me.. Like cement.. Add the L in the middle e go give you Clement..

Linda How could you? Why?

Linda So everything you said about being a doctor is a lie?

Out of anger, I plastered the plates of the spaghetti on both the man and Romonike.. I left immediately after that without taking the stuff the fool bought me.. I couldn’t believe I was fooled like that… I felt sad and hurt, to think I was getting worried about lieing to that man.. Turns out he was a big fool liar.. God.

I walked home slowly feeling hurt and depressed.. I didn’t know how long I was walking on the road and I didn’t care..

Minutes later, I arrived home finally but as I reached the door step, I heard moans coming from the inside… I knew what was going on So I sat outside waiting for them to finish.. I can’t believe my day started out in positively only for it to end negatively.
