Enita's POV

To her ear, I whispered the first words I have never said to a girl before.

“CAUSE I LOVE YOU MIMI”

“And I really mean it. This sounds awkward though but God knows am saying the truth. Am not forcing you to love me back.

But I just wanted to tell you this. I know you gonna come back to me” I added and left the office leaving her in a shocking state.

Mimi's POV

He left the office and slump on the chair behind me.

My heart has been beating fast since he said those words. It even skipped a beat.

I can’t think straight, I know he really meant those words.

But do I love him back? Am confused. I don’t want to end up been dump at last.

The strange feeling I do feel am with him or when we’re kissing. Could it be love?

I jsu need to calm my head down. No guy has never said those words to me before.

“I LOVE YOU MIMI” The words were cool in my ear.

I just need these two signs to come true. Signs that shows we are really bond together. We are really meant to be.

I don’t believe in these but I just need to do that to see if he love me.

Enita's POV

I was done with work in the hospital. I got outside and met her again.

It like we are really bond to be together. Seeing her everywhere is another thing entirely

I just need to let her rest and think about what I said. I know she’s going to back……to me.

No one will take her away from me, not even the witches and wizards in our village.

I need to let her be for sometime. I walk pass her to my car without glancing back. She caught me staring at her through the glass screen but I looked away.

I got home amd met Aunty Stella and uncle Efe just like yesterday. They were laughing.

My uncle gave her a peck on the lips and she blushed. The two of them should just get married so I can eat jollof rice and my favorite egusi soup.

Yummy.

“Enita, your meal is on the table, you can eat that. I can see you’re tired” Aunt Stella said.

Wow! She’s lovely.

“Awwn, thanks aunty.” I replied.

I wanted to ask if there’s meat in the food and it should be two meats but I kept quiet. My uncle will surely kill me.

I changed into something casual, ate dinner and went out of the house. At least I have a friend around here now.

Getting to Eduvie’s apartment, I knocked on the door trice before it got opened.

She was wearing a white crop top and yellow trouser. She grinned at me and gesture me to enter.

“Come in Enita! I wasn’t expecting you”

I shook my head and answered. “Actually, I came to tell you if we can take a walk” I said, her face had no expression.

At last she replied, “Sure, am coming let me take my phone inside” She rushed in and came out with her phone.

We walk down the street, talking and laughing about so many things. We even bought ice cream on our way.

“So when are you going to get yourself a girlfriend? I was expecting you to have had a wife and two kids” She cackle and took a spoon of an ice cream into her mouth.

“Well, very soon. Am going to invite you to my wedding. Just wait and see” I answered.

She gave me strange strange stare.

Suddenly, what I saw baffled me. I didn’t expect it.

That’s Mimi and some guys holding her. She was struggling. What are they trying to do with my sugar?

Without thinking twice, I ran there and gave one of the guys a punch on the face.

The others came and I took them down too. I was shocked to see her crying. I made her stand on her feet though she was shaking vigorously.

“Enita, you saved me” She whispered and smiled.

“Yes, I did. Are you okay Mimi? Talk to me” I noticed someone behind me. Eduvie.

Aisshh! Have even forgotten about her so quickly.

“Sign 1 accomplished” Mimi whispered again and there, she fainted in my arms.

I was perplexed. I don’t know what to do. I don’t even know her house.

Her eyes were closed but she’s still breathing.

I dip my hand into my pocket to bring out my phone but then I remembered that I forgot it at home.

Holy crap!

“Is she okay? Do you even know her?” I turned to Eduvie and nodded.

“Yes I do, I need to take her home now. I will see you later.” I replied her and stood up, carrying Mimi in a bridal style.

Am taking her home. My home.

Staring at her face one last time before opening the door to the living room. I climbed the stairs and got to my room.

There, I laid her on my bed. I used the duvet to cover her and ran to the bathroom to get water and a towel.

I dip the towel into the water and squeezed it to bring out the water. I cleaned her body with the towel avoiding some parts the witches and wizard wants to use and tempt me but I reject it.

I returned the water and the towel back and came back to sit on the bed.

I watch her as she sleep soundly on my bed. She’s gonna be surprised by the time she wake up.

Soon, I walk to the couch in the room and lay down to sleep.

Next Day………

I woke up and saw Mimi still sleeping. Today’s Saturday so i won’t be going to work today and tomorrow which is Sunday.

Today is also I and Mimi’s date. Am not sure if she still remember that.

I got to where she’s sleeping and gave her a morning peck on the forehead before going to the bathroom to brush my teeth.

I got downstairs and net my uncle in the kitchen. It time I do something here in this kitchen.

“Good morning uncle” I greeted.

“Good morning, and how’s Mimi?” He asked, giggling.

“Don’t ask me how I knew about you bringing her here and taking her to your room. I was peeping.” He continued and a frown appeared on my face.

“You know when you use to carry aunty Stella to the room, I wasn’t peeping”

He glared at me which made me laugh. It was cut short when we heard the door bell ring.

Who’s that this early morning ?

I opened it and saw the boy who hit my car the other day. I don’t even know his name.

He walk pass me without greeting or should I say am invisible now.

See devil himself. I will show him who I am today.

“Hey Tony, how are you? And Stella?” My uncle peeped like a baby bird.

He wanted to give my uncle a handshake but I caught it.

“You don’t have manners Tony. You don’t even know how to greet your elders. You are so spoilt” I fired at him.

“You again? Fine! Bonjour”He replied.

“Ehh? Born john? Who born john? Leave the woman that born john alone now.

You see, in Nigeria, if we want to greet your elders you will have to lie down flat and greet as a boy. And that’s what you will do” I turned to my uncle with a glare on his face.

“Enita, this is not Nigeria for crying out loud!” Uncle Efe yelled.

“I know, but his sister wants to marry a Nigerian right? He should start learning how to greet and respect his elders. Especially the witches in our village”

I turned to Tony with a smirk. “Lie down and greet us. As we, your elders. Am waiting”

“He can’t understand your English except French.” Uncle chipped in.

“Am sure you know French uncle? Tell him in French”

My uncle interpret what i said. Tony shook his head negatively. Immediately, I knew he wasn’t going to lie down and greet his elders.

I went to the kitchen and came out with a mop.

“If you don’t greet formally now, I will hit you with this mop in my hand. Uncle interpret it to him”

My uncle reluctantly obeyed. Immediately, as if he was scared of me. He laid down flat on the floor.

“Bonjour! Bonjour!” He stuttered quickly.

“Seriously, Tony” My uncle was shocked that he did exactly what I told him.

Which one is born john again? So he doesn’t want to be hit with a mop. Spoilt child.
