Brenda and derick were in the sitting room

discussing and sipping from a cup of wine

in there hands when mr.jumbo came down

from the stairs.

Mr.jumbo:”brenda oviawe,senator samson

girlfriend”,he said pouring a wine in a cup

on the table.

Brenda: (shocked)”wh..wha…what do you

mean sir!!”she said with a loosed voice.

Derick:”yes!,dad what do you mean?”he said

dropping the wine in his hand on the table.

Mr.jumbo:”ask your suppose fiance.

Derick: Brenda,what is my dad talking

about?

Brenda: i…i don’t know,maybe there is a

mistake somewhere”(she said almost

crying).

Mr.jumbo:so i am now a liar right?.

Just then a knock was heard on the door

and mr.jumbo stood up to open the door

with a smile that signify that he already

knows who is at the door.

Mr.jumbo:welcome officers.

Sergeant:thank you sir!,what is the situation

at hand sir?.

Mr.jumbo:arrest that girl (pointing to

Brenda)torture her till she confessed how

she cornered with a guy who act as her

husband to blackmail senator samson and

made away with 500 million naira also, i

want to know who the guy in question is!!!

Derick:what!!,dad you can’t just arrest my

fiance just because of a mere accusation!.

Mr.jumbo:mere acusation you called it?,well

we shall find out soon if they are just mere

accusation.officers arrest her and take her

away.

Sergeant:young lady,you are under

arrest,you have the right to remain silent for

anything you say or do will be use against

you in the court of law.(putting culfs on her

hands).

Brenda: (crying) sir! I don’t know what you

are talking about,i don’t know anybody with

that name i swear.

Mr.jumbo:when you get to the station you

will know.

Derick:dad! Please don’t do this,i love her so

much i know that she can never do such a

thing.(he said following the policemen as

they where exiting the door).

Mr.jumbo:derick,if you take an inch out of

this house i will disowned you.

Derick:what!! Dad you will disowned me??

Mr.jumbo:yes i will and i mean it.

Derick move with anger to his Room while

mr.jumbo sat down pouring more wine into

the cup that he was holding.

few hours later at the police station, Brenda

finally confessed after series of torture from

the policemen,she as become an

imagination of her formal self,her hair as

become scatter with bruises and blood all

over her body.

Sergeant: we wouldn’t have tortured you

like this if you confessed earlier,but you get

mind oh,how can a beautiful girl like you did

such a thing to a politician?.

Brenda: (in a faint voice)”i am sorry sir” she

managed to say with blood coming out of

her mouth and nose.

Sergeant:am not the person that you should

tell that to,just give me the address of the

other two culprit maybe we will pardon you

when they are put behind bars.

Brenda: ok sir!.

mr.samson and Patrick where about going

out in the car when the policemen enter the

compound through the gate that was

already wide open by umoru the

gateman,seeing them,mr.samson order

Patrick to stop the car and they came down.

Sergeant: (showing his identity card) i am

sergeant tony from the ugbor police

headquarter we where giving order to

arrest one mr.patrick umeh.

Mr.samson: patrick?, for what?(turning to

Patrick)what have you done Patrick?

Patrick: (shivering)sir!i did not do anything

sergeant tony: well sir if you must know,one

miss Brenda oviawe was arrested this

afternoon and she confussed that she

cornived with Patrick and one certain guy

known as Ezra ikhiewen to blackmail you.

Mr.samson:what!!,patrick so you cornived

with those guys and planned everything

with them,officers arrest him.

Patrick: (crying while the officers where

putting culf on his hands) please forgive me

sir,it was the handiwork of the devil.

Mr.samson:handiwork of the devil right?

When the devil came which colour of shirt

was he wearing?,patrick i picked you up

from the street trained you as a son and

shower you with love like a son and the only

way you choose to pay me back is by

corniving with criminals to blackmail me??

You will suffer so much for this.(turning to

the sergeant)is the Ezra guy in ur custody

now?

S.tony:no sir, we have not arrested him yet

we actually thought of doing that after

arresting Patrick umeh

mr.jumbo:that is even better,let’s go there

together.

S.tony: ok sir! (he said while the other

policemen were beating Patrick as they drag

him out of the gate).
