Don't Mention God To Me - S01 E21

The crusade scheduled to start by 5pm, started at a few minutes to 6pm with opening prayers, and then the praise team took over the stage for praise and worship which lasted for about 45 minutes.

The worship songs ministration was led by a lady and backed up by the praise team while praises was led by an average young man with the other team backing him up.

People danced to the praises of God as Mr Samuel sang so wonderfully and acrobatically on the stage. He was a gifted singer and have been the music director of Divine Grace international ministries with the headquarters in Enugu precisely.

Everyone loved him in the church for his zeal and commitment to the things of God but his life was that of a struggling man. Like the bible Jabez,He looked honourable but his life portrayed nothing but struggles and hardship.

Just last year, his wife opted out of their 8years marriage to the shock of everyone, accusing him of not being able to father a child and since then, he have been living a pathetic life all alone.

The General Overseer of Divine Grace international ministries loves him dearly and always wished to help lift him from his life of struggles but kept on procrastinating and giving himself excuses why he can’t help him at the moment.

Many times, he had the desire to carry Mr Samuel along with himself to his outside programs in and outside the country but he always ended up calling another person from another branch to go with him. But once he comes back and set his eyes on Mr Samuel, he begins to feel bad.

Mr Samuel had no idea about all these things going on because the Pastor didn’t discuss them with him. But he kept on praying for a miracle and in this particular ‘Enugu Miracle Crusade’ organized by his church in which the renowned Daughter of Fire would be ministering, he had fasted, prayed, and cried his eyes out asking God to remember him and do a miracle in his life. In fact, he refused he was not going to break his fast until the end of the program.

The offerings were collected, followed by the mass choir’s ministrations that ushered in the Daughter of Fire to the podium.. The atmosphere changed immediately she mounted the podium and took up the microphone…

People began to shout from the back and then at the right hand side, and in the middle people were shouting… It was the shout of miracles! Crutches and wheelchairs were lifted up, and “I can see!”, ” I can walk!”, “I can hear!” “I’m healed!” Were being shouted everywhere on the crusade ground. Yet, the woman of God have not even opened her mouth to say a word.

People were praying violently without anyone giving them prayer points as they prayed to receive their own miracles. Those healed from one thing or the other made their ways, jumping and running to the altar to drop their walking aids and beds and in no time, the front space was filled with too many people who claimed they were healed

A greater shout erupted again when a dead child came back to life. For over an hour that she stood there on the podium, things were happening and she couldn’t calm the flow as the uproars of the crowd got louder and louder.

Then she motioned the General overseer who was sweating profusely as himself have been praying and walking around.

“What do we do?” She asked, then continued.

“I have been standing here for over an hour, and i have not given my sermon. Should I cut short the flow so I can preach or allow the atmosphere for miracles to continue..?” She said and the Pastor could not allow her to finish her statement before speaking up.

“Ah! Don’t cut short the atmosphere for miracles. People all over the world are suffering and groaning in pains with no one to help them. Hospitals are trying their best, but have not been able to cure many chronic ailments and health conditions, the government is not helping to alleviate their suffering either.

A lot of people are under demonic operations and suppressions with no hope of deliverance from anywhere. And who knows whether you have come here for such a time as this to set the captives free?” The General overseer said pleadingly.

” The people don’t mind standing here till tomorrow whether in the sun or in the rain. They have seen a saviour and are willing to receive help from above. You can preach later please!! ” he pleaded, almost crying and the woman of God laughed…

She released the Pastor to go and turned back to the congregation which had become very rowdy with jubilation and she raised the microphone to her mouth and began to sing a popular worship song;

“Destiny Changer,

You are my destiny changer

Come and change my destiny,

My destiny today…”

Mr Samuel rushed over to the Mick stand from behind the stage and began to back her up but when she heard his voice, she turned and on seeing him, she jerked and it was obvious she was seeing something about him with the eyes of the spirit.

Suddenly she laughed out and on a second look at Mr Samuel, she asked him not to back her up but that he should standby and wait for a message.

She demanded that the lady who led the worship songs at the start of the program do the backup for her while Mr Samuel stood aside, praying silently for his own miracle. He sang the song with his whole spirit, and prayed for a change of destiny.

The atmosphere for miracles continued till dawn yet people were not tired and no one slept. At about 5:47am, Daughter of Fire turned to Mr Samuel who had stood there for over 3hours crying and praying. Looking at him, he was already exhausted.

“What’s your name sir?” She asked him and he quickly answered,

“Samuel ma”

She laughed out loud and said to him,

“Your original name is not Samuel” and all the church members shouted in amazement and with suspicions written on their faces as they anxiously waited for more revelation about Mr Samuel whom they have known for the past 20years…

” Your full name is …
