Don't Mention God To Me - S01 E02

Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 2

I arrived home only to find my mom in a pool of her own blood. She was dead!. I felt a lump of bitterness mixed with anger sprang up on my inside.

“Mother, you asked me to go get this treasure and now ,i have it but you are gone,no more alive to see me use it.

What’s the use of it anyway?” I screamed at the top of my voice and in a fist of anger, I tossed the star like vessel in my hand away into a nearby bush. Instantly, I saw those masked men in their numbers appeared from nowhere and began to run towards the vessel I had tossed out. As they ran towards it,they made joyful noises indicating victory, that finally, they got what they wanted. But I sat back, fuming in anger against someone I don’t know. I was angry the person didn’t watch over my mother well enough.

I watched them rejoicing over my star but I didn’t care a bit about the star. Suddenly a huge, dark man with two horns appeared from nowhere, he looked at me and my mother’s remains and gave out a mocking laugh and the other masked men joined him to laugh at me.

“A star indeed”, he said scornfully and gave me a devious stare, ” Let us see how you will become that star that will light nations then” he said mockingly followed by sounds of laughter everywhere. He lifted up his hands and there was silence instantly. He stretched forth his hand and the star flew from the masked men’s hand into his hand. He held it carefully and kissed it as if it was a great treasure. I turned and saw a man clothed in White and he urged me to go ahead and fight back for my treasure but the more he urged me, the angrier I got in my heart.

” Where were you when my mother was attacked and killed, where were you? ” I shouted at the man in white apparel. ” And now you stand there to urge me to go and fight for my treasure.

To hell with that treasure! ” I blurted out and the huge man with his gang began to laugh in excitement as they mocked the nan in white. I looked back at the man and saw tears struggling and making their ways down his cheeks. I saw him lowered his head in disappointment as those strange beings mocked him.

He looked away from me and those strange beings to another direction and I followed his gaze. There was a scene of a man kneeling down in prayers, sweating profusely and mentioning my name at intervals.

“Zion Oma-ojo, ” he called my full name and i was shocked, “for his sake I will not give up on you” the man in white said and I felt a drop of peace in my heart, I turned but the remains of my mother had disappeared. When i found out that her remains was gone from my sight, I felt like another man and my boldness returned. I looked into the man in white’s eyes and said with a furious heart,”I will go after them and get back my treasure”

And the man nodded in approval.

I began to pursue the strange beings and I was surprised that even the huge man ran in fear. I kept chasing hard after them until I woke up terrified. I jolted from the bed and found my mother praying in tongues. I was sweating allover and panting for breath as well.

“Zion, you had a terrible dream right?”

My mother asked and I was shocked.

” you know I had a dream? ” I asked

” yes, I heard you speaking out from your sleep and I understood that you were speaking from the dream world ” she explained and I looked around in fear.

” now’ tell me what the dream is all about ” she sat close to me and faced me with curiosity written all over her. I narrated the dream to her and she unconsciously said,

“Baba fire was right, he told me this…” She murmured, lost in her own thoughts.
