I just rushed home and called our parents who travelled for a couples trip..

“Hello mummy”

“Yes dear”

“Mummy sister Juan oo”

“Calm down what happened?”

“Gas exploded on her face..right now she’s at the hospital”

“Jesus!!.. What hospital”

“I think Immaculate touch hospital”

“Okay..I and your father will be there!”

The call ended and i rushed to get dressed..

I got to the hospital an hour later..the nurses said she was undergoing operation and was at the theatre..i was scared praying on God to show my sister kindness

2 hours later my parents landed, we all waited in anticipation and hoping on God’s miracle.. After 6 hours it was midnight..Sister Juan was taken out of the theatre and transferred to the ward

We followed them but the doctor called in my dad at the office..

I and Mum waited, we sat by her bed side praying for her

Mum decided to go back home with dad since he has finished talking to the doctor

“Mum i will love to stay by Sister Juan”

“Dear you need rest”

“No..i caused all this…i should have been the one who needed to lie here on this bed if not i didn’t ask her to help me buy bread”

“Don’t be too hard on yourself.. Juan will be fine”

“Dad what about her face..the face is covered with bandages”

Dad bowed his head and continued

“The doctor confirmed her face will heal but will never remain as before..she might look deformed..we shouldn’t give her a mirror or allow her see herself..it might kill her..anything mirror must be taken away..understand??”

“Yes dad” i looked at her and felt pity

“What about her fiancée..will he still love her?”

I said to myself

Mum and dad left and i had no choice to go along with them promising to come back the next day..
