Chapter: Unexpected Visitor

Two years had passed since I finally got married to my sweet Alex, life was good and everything was okay, Alex was a loving husband and a caring father to our kids, we were one happy family.

Though being happy in the family doesn’t always last cause Alex and I had small but tiny problems, We were both working late and we barely have time for our kids, Alex tries his best to have time for them but I don’t. Being a C. E. O wasn’t all that fun and games.

But despite that, we still got along! My father had retired from the company and had handed everything over to me and Alex but Alex didn’t want any of that so I took care of everything!

Though most of family members were happy about my marriage with Alex, some weren’t in fact the reason why some of them came was because they were forced to come by Aunt Nicole. They didn’t want another black man into our family blood line but I don’t give a shit, I love Alex and that is all that matters.

One day, I was in my office working as usual, when my secretary said there was some people who wanted to see me, I told her to allow them in, as they came into my office, I was utterly surprised, it was Lizzy and Jessy, they were both looking good and refreshing, Jessy looked more spectacular it would seem like staying overseas change her for good.

Carol Jessy, Lizzy its been a while, you guys are both looking good.

Jessy You too darling! Wow.

Lizzy Hey cousin, you look a bit chubby!

Jessy Don’t mind her, You’re looking great, but a bit chubby.

Carol So? I packed a few extra pounds but I’m not that fat, I’m in great shape and I still drive men crazy.

After that, I called my secretary and told her that I would be going out for a very important meeting, so no one should call me or even try to locate me, after that, we drove back to my house!

Being a married man and a father has a lot of challenges, Two years after my marriage to Carol, life was quite great, Carol was a hardworking woman and a good wife, we usually have our biffs and quarrels but we settle things in a peaceful way.

But there was one small problem with Carol, she wasn’t a devoted mother, she doesn’t have time to spend with the kids, she’s always working and working and working, the kids even barely know her as their mom, Since we were both working, I asked my mom to come help us with the kids and she happily accepted, I also cut some time from work to see my kids.

Carol does love them like I do but she doesn’t realize the mistake she’s making not spending quality time with the kids, she still acts like the way she does before we got married only this time she was way serious than last time.

And as the matters of intimacy, I’ve forgotten the last time, I’ve had sex with Carol, I’m not complaining but she should realize, Sex is also one of the main ingredients that maintains a marriage relationship, and each time I try to make love to her , she always says she tired but I soon got used to it.

So one Monday afternoon, I was at work when my phone rang, it was Mike, its been quite a while since I saw him or heard from him.

Alex Mike, how far? Long time!

Mike Actually, I’m in Nigeria now, I just arrived hours ago.

Alex Jesus! And you didn’t call me?

Mike I wanted it to be a surprise! So where can we meet?

Alex Let’s meet at our usual place now.

Mike Okay, let’s meet there in five minutes.

Alex Okay, I’m on my way.

African time: 15mins late……

Mike I say make you come 5mins, now you’re ten minutes late. Wetin dey worry you?

Mike I’m no longer a Nigerian citizen, I’m now a British citizen.

Mike They’re fine, my brother, Lizzy is a good wife. We’re managing well, she’s even pregnant.

Alex . Jesus, it was last year she gave birth and now she’s having another? You wan kill your wife?

Mike Bros, she’s not complaining, we love each other dearly. So how’s your wife Carol?

Alex Carol is still carol.. Always bossing me around but she’s lovely, but… Our sex life is complicated.

Mike Complicated how?

Alex She’s always working over time, she’s doesn’t have time to even see the kids, i’m worried.

Alex I hope its not chocolate, cause they’re crazy about it like their mother, and they’re still kids so they shouldn’t take too much of it.

We later arrived home, as expected there was Aunt Nicole, she hasn’t quite changed in the last two years, she was sipping some tea when I came in.

Carol Oh my Gosh, mom!

Carol How’s England mom?

Aunt Nicole England is quite well, my oh my you look uhm… Chubby.

Carol Mom, thanks for the observation.

Carol Mom, I’m quite okay, besides I’m not that fat, I don’t have a big belly like fat women do, my stomach is still flat, my figure is still in shape, and as I exercise I do jog quite often.

Carol They’re still at school… They should be back anytime soon. So are you staying here for a while.

Aunt Nicole Now, now! I don’t want you two to be fighting! I made her come so she can come see you since she didn’t attend your wedding.

My cousin she is a definition of a wicked being, she’s a racist, bullying and snobby b---h, who thinks she’s better than anyone, Back in the day, I was the one person she only talks to not because I was her cousin, no its because she would spend her time talking to be about loads of nonsense claiming she was educating and subconsciously getting rid of my African half. We never got along though, she always call me stupid annoying names back in england, disgracing me, and wherever we went. She would make everyone know that I was half African, I don’t mind but the way she says it makes me feel so different and alone. God! I hate her. Have you read Coolval stories today??

She’s now a journalist and a very successful one at that, the b---h even went ahead and wrote a book about why Africans should still be in slavery! I mean who does that?

When she heard about my wedding with Alex, she made it clear to everyone in England that she wouldn’t mix with African apes. To be honest, I doubt if we’ll ever get along cause wherever Rebecca goes, trouble follows. As soon as Aunt Nicole called her, she came walking majestically, swaying her hips and swinging her hair backwards, she wore an expensive, jeans with a white shirt on top, she held an expensive iPhone 13, which wasn’t supposed to be launched until 2023, how the hell did she get it?

Rebecca Caroline, my half African cousin, you look fat!

Rebecca So do I besides, the place is filled with apes, mosquitoes and dirt.

Carol There aren’t apes in Nigeria except in the zoo.

Aunt Nicole gave the twins some chocolates , and some expensive gifts, my mouth watered as I saw the chocolates, it’s been a while since I’ve had one, Alex has been the one restricting me from taking them, he insisted that too much calories would make me…. Fat.

Alex’s mom and Aunt Nicole exchanged some pleasantries, it was nice seeing them getting along, the twins were being entertained by Lizzy and Jessy, they were busy spoiling them with gifts.

As the kids rushed off to play, the devil incarnate Rebecca, came down the stairs, with some huge pile of clothes in her hands as soon as she came to where Alex’s mom was she dropped it in front of her.
