Pius ran away leaving Victor to bleed to death.

.”Victor!” He heard his name and tried to open his eyes, it belongs to Jidenna, “Am here, blood. Your bleeding.” He said as he ran to him clutching his stab wound.

Two police men and two paramedics arrived sooner as they carried him on a stretcher.

“He ran that way.” Victor managed to say when the police asked him if his attacker.

“Corporal, follow me.” The heavily built officer tells his colleague and they both ran in the same direction Pius had earlier took.

When the they came out of the bush, a police van is there as they arrested two of the boys while one ran away.

Favour is seen at the back of the Ambulance as they wore her an oxygen mask, her back bandaged, soon Victor passed out and they carried both of them to St. Mary hospital that was two miles away.

“We didn’t see him but rest assured that we’re going to find him soon. The two boys in our custody as already confessed to the crime and our boys are doing their possible best to apprehend him.” Lieutenant Kingsley Chukwu told a worried Jidenna.

The hospital door flings open and Abel, Favour’s brother came in with Emeka accompanying him behind.

“Jidenna, where’s she?.” Abel asked interrupting him and the police man who is on mufti.

“Young man who are you?.” Lt. Kingsley asked Abel who simply ignored him.

“He is the brother to the injured girl officer.” Jidenna said.

“Well, in that case. She is doing okay.” He said and Abel heaves a sigh of reason.

“Where’s Pius? Where’s that bàstard.” Abel asked.

“He got away.” Came the reply.

Abel, looks at him,then looked at Jidenna “When my sister wakes up, tell her I’ll be back.” He commented as he started heading to the exit.

“Senior man, wetin we go do because me as I dey here.” Emeka asked Abel.

“Relax, I no where I go find am.” Abel said.

Pius run into a compound as he starts packing some belongings and put in a camera bag, he carries his gun and puts it in his fanny bag. Abel would be coming for him. He sure knows about that and it wasn’t safe for him anymore in the village.

He checks all he needs and walked out the door, he wanted some cash as he had ran out of cash earlier for his release.

He decided to meet with a friend who he brought on board.

“Come, Chineche give me some cash na. I wan vomit from this village.” Chineche looked at him and shakes his head.

“You fvck up oo. Wetin make you go stab senior man sister.” He asked him, he didn’t want to help because if Abel found out he assisted Pius with the money he used to travel out, he would go through Pius fate.

“Leave that thing, look I don’t have all day, are you giving me or not?” He questioned.

“Am not, sorry man but I can’t.” Chineche said and turns to go.

Pius gets angry and dips hand inside his fanny bag and touches his gun, bringing it out slowly but pushes it in when Chineche turns around and said “Come, make we go my side. Money no dey with me here.”

“Hurry up oo, I no get time. Night done almost cover” He said as he followed him.

Unknown to him, Chineche had texted Abel of Pius plan and where they are going.

“Jidenna, what happened?.” Amanda rushed in followed by Uncle Olisa and Maureen and Jidenna’s parents.

“Pius, he ambushed us. Victor and Favour are hurt badly.” He answered sadly.

Amanda gave him a hug and pets his back as he seated on the waiting room.

Maureen felt uneasy.

“How did you guys hear?” He asked looking at their faces.

“A girl saw you guys and ran and told your parents which then called me and I told Amanda. She drove us here” Uncle Olisa said.

“My son, are you alright?.” His mother sat down on the other side.

“Mama, I am not fine. Victor is going through pains so is Favour. All because of me.” He laments almost loudly.

“Shh!” It isn’t your fault okay. Everything will be fine. What are the doctors saying?.” His father cuts in.

“That they both will be fine but am still worried.” He said and cleaned his tears with the handkerchief Amanda gave him.

“You see, there’s nothing to be worried about.” His mother said trying her best to sooth him.

He nods his head and faces Amanda, “Thank you for coming here.”

“No problem dear” she said as they hugged again.
