Two days later.

“Dr. Sheila I can’t find Amanda.” A nurse commented tirelessly as she dashed into the doctor’s office, panting hard. It seems she was running.

“What do you mean you can’t find her?.” Dr. Sheila commented adjusting her eye glass.

“I mean she is not in her ward.” She spoke again catching her breath.

“You must be joking, I thought she was dosed.” Dr. Sheila commented as she stood up immediately.

“Yes she was but right now, she is not there anymore.” The nurse said.

Dr. Sheila was initially confused at that point of time. She didn’t know what to do if it is true.

She decided to check for her herself.

She took her stethoscope and hung it round her neck before she walked out of her office hastily.

Not wasting time, she got there and saw that the bandages have been removed and the drip have been unplugged and placed on the mattress.

“Oh my word!” She exclaimed shockingly as she placed her hand in pocket and couldn’t find her purse inside.

Meanwhile…

Amanda walks around not knowing where to go, she didn’t feel safe at the hospital as she felt she was being watched every night.

She knew it wasn’t right to disappear from the hospital but right now, it doesn’t matter. She wished she had a phone to contact Maureen or Victoria.

She wandered what she was doing in her village, she remembered the place but had forgotten her family.

How she ended up in a hospital baffled her, decided to see if she could find an eatery to eat so she could replenish her strength. Then she remember she was still in the hospital’s gown.

Taking out the purse she had stolen from Dr. Sheila when she wanted to inject earlier, she checked inside and saw sixteen thousand inside. She became glad again and decided to look for a boutique where she could buy new cloth.

People looking at her strangely but she didn’t care, she just walked around for some time till she saw a boutique shop nearby, she quickly entered and bought a jean trouser and a top with a face cap and a pair of sneakers which cost her about ten thousand naira, left with six thousand naira, she decided to locate an eatery as her stomach is rumbling due to the hunger she was experiencing.

“Ma’am am here for the bill.” The waitress diligently said.

“How much?” Amanda asked her after finishing a plate of jollof rice.

“It’s two thousand naira ma.” She replied.

Amanda took out two thousand, wanting to handed to the waitress, she was stopped midway.

“Don’t worry I’ll settle the bill.” She said someone say.

She slowly turned her head around, Maureen was standing behind her standing and smiling.

Amanda quickly stood up and hugged her immediately.

“I’ve missed you.” She found herself saying.

“Me too baby girl.”Maureen commented and disengaged from the hug as she brought out her purse, taking out five thousand naira and handed it to the waitress who was still standing, looking at the two ladies.

“Her bill is two thousand naira ma’am.” She said as as she saw the money.

“I know, you can keep the rest.” She replied before holding Amanda’s hand and signaled to a guy who was standing a feet away from them. When he got close. Amanda saw it was Taofeeq.

“Taofeeq, what are you doing here. What are you guys doing here.” Amanda had to asked.

“My father sends for you Amanda.” Maureen said and Amanda nodded as she remembered Maureen had informed her a while back…
