Pregnancy - S01 E02

Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 2

They ushered me inside the house and I was seated down, I was busy looking around the parlour. Since my life,I have never seen such house because I was born and brought up in the village. Madam Bimpe told them to offer me water and soft drink. Thereafter madam Bimpe welcomed me once again and start introduction.

Madam Bimpe: Igwe you’re welcome to my poor abode. [ she pointed at her first daughter ] this is my first daughter and her name is Nancy and here is my second daughter Joyce by name and my last born Salome. You’re welcome to my house once again. Feel free and take here as your own home and I hate discrimination in my life. Take this my daughters as your own junior sisters because I know pretty well that you senior all of them. My mother have told me all about you and I’m very sorry for the demised of your parent. My mother told me earlier about your intention of furthering your education. So tell me, what course will you like to read?

IGWE: Thank you ma’am. I’m very grateful. I want to read engineering but to be frank with you ma’am, I didn’t write WASSCE because no money.

Bimpe: There is no problem. Then we’ll start with that first.

Igwe: Thank you ma’am.

Bimpe told her second daughter Joyce to take me to my own room. Thereafter, we ate the dinner together before we entered our different rooms. That night, I couldn’t sleep before of over joy that was burning inside me. I stood up from bed around 4:30am and started sweeping the house. After 10min, Joyce came out from their room and asked me what I was doing. I told her that,

I’m tiding everywhere up. She replied me;

“You don’t need to do that now, just enter your room and sleep moreover we’re here to do it ourselves not you. You’ve to rest for a while before joining us to do house chores. Please just drop the broom and go back to sleep OK”. She collected the broom and dropped it. I entered my room and lay down as I was expecting sleep but it wasn’t coming yet.

NANCY, JOYCE AND SALOME ROOM.

As Joyce entered Nancy opened her eyes and was amazed seeing Joyce as she was entering the room. She was busy staring at Joyce.

Joyce:This kind look eeh! Na waoh for you ooo.

Nancy: Guilty conscience is your problem. Where are you coming from this early morning?

Joyce: which kind question be that one now? Where am I coming from in my father’s house again? Well if you must know, I’m coming from the sitting room. Any other question?

Nancy: Be careful Joyce.

They started their sleep till morning. Everybody was awake and I also so we started with house chores but Joyce said I should stop but I insisted. Thereafter, they prepared tea and we all entered the dinning room and was eating together.

Bimpe: Igwe how was your night?

Igwe: It was wonderful though I didn’t sleep because of excess joy. (All of them laughed)

Joyce: hmmm. Is that why you woke up around 4am and started sweeping everywhere? (Laugh continue)

Bimpe: You guys will not kill me in this house. Igwe you’ll be at home for now till next term before I’ll register you to school for your wassce exam. So you’ll be at home with Joyce, Nancy will have lecture by 9am and Salome is still going to secondary school. So please you and Joyce should take care of the house till we come back.

Igwe: No problem ma’am. Thank you so much and God will surely bless you for me.

After eating our breakfast, Bimpe drove off with Salome. She drop her in their school before going to work. Around 8:30am Nancy left the house to school leaving only me and Joyce. The adventure have just started.
