The Maid I Helped - S01 E02

Mr Anderson.

Just like my colleague will call me, I’m a man of integrity, I never believed there’s demon or rather should i say i believe in God, but i have heard it severally that people worship God but where he stays or be is what i don’t think I’m interested on. I was a bank manager of one of the biggest bank here in Ghana, I have a wife who had given birth to two girls for me, though when it comes to money i think i have tried, I have a mansion where i stay with my family and i also run a company where i have a lot of workers working for me, I would have preferred working in my company but i just decided to stay here with the bank for sometimes. But one thing that has never gives me joy was my little girls, they lack parenting, though the blame shouldn’t be much on me because I have been a busy person, my work had always take away most of my time, the only time i am chance to be with the twins was when i got back from work early and by then they probably might be feeling sleepy because of the late hour time i do come home, this has been my sad. Well I knew you might want to ask me about my wife, well she’s a wife but she never care for my little girls, i have tried complaining everytime but she prefer going to parties, meeting and all despite the fact that she’s married, this was how will have been living in the house for years. My twins are just not satisfied with this, they have complained times without number only if they knew that there mom doesn’t care about that, I sincerely understand how they feel as a children but what i have always do is to keep promising the girls that things will be fine soon. So that morning i was going to work as usual, I have always woke up as early as possible and the reason was to meet up with the time, so that morning i just took the orange highlander jeep as i begin to drive towards the direction that leads to the bank. Though i remembered that i went to see my girls in there room earlier that morning, the two girls were seen sleeping before i leave the house, after some minutes driving then i noticed that the car was jerking, I tried all possible best but it seems its not going to work, so i manage to parked it at one side of the road, since it’s not moving anymore. Seriously i was out of time but what can i do i picked my phone as i call the mechanic in charge, i just need to get out of here i said, just then i noticed a hand at the back of my shoulder, I turned back to see a young girl of her 20th maybe, she was really looking dirty, I noticed her for a while before she continues, please i want to eat she said, really do i look like a restaurant to her or what, anyway i put my hand in my pocket as i brought out some money, I gave it to her, then she leaves. Later that morning the mechanic came to help me with the car before i left the place. Due to my experience along the road, i got there late, but as the manager i have to explain myself and there it ends . But seriously i just have to be sincere despite the fact that i got money and others, my family don’t seems to be funny with me, I just want the best for my girls, i don’t know if there mom is there to take good care of the girls. This is exactly how i have always feel within me whenever i am less busy at work.

Two years later, I was still roaming around the street begging for money and food to eat, some people believe i am mad while others will just beat me and send me away, but to me, i have always believed that all that was been done to me was right and i believed that i deserve it. I’m still serving the punishment for the death of my family. I’m not mad, but whenever i feel hungry like that, i will go out to meet people and beg them for food or money, but this days it seems no one is ready to give out money, i have been roaming around the street begging for money since the day break but it seems no one is ready to give me and i hungry already. So that morning, i have walked a thousand miles and it seems nobody is going to help me, i was just tired and hungry, just then i couldn’t realized that i was at the the middle of the road, seriously even if i know, the driver will only have to be patient enough for me, but as at then i didn’t even know i was at the middle of the road, guess the driver must have been indicating to tell me that, but i wasn’t myself anymore, i was just weak, tired and hungry, i was still thinking on what to do while walking when the driver shouted at me to leave the road, it was then i got to realize that i was at the middle of the road. So i quickly went towards a corner of the road then i noticed a man from afar, he was staying beside his car maybe because from the look, it seems the car belongs to him, guess the car broke down, God i just pray this person will give me money i said as i walked towards him, I got to his place to noticed that he was on a call with an unknown person already but since i don’t think i will be waiting so i tapped him on his shoulder since he was not facing me. I noticed him for a while before i beg him for food, guess he must have looked at me and think i am a mad person or something but i was surprised when he put his hand inside his pocket as he brought out some money and give it to me, seriously i was happy i left his present as i went to eat at one restaurant where people seems to be eating, i was served outside because some believe i am not normal so they gave me the food outside the compound. I don’t even know if i am mad already, I just noticed that whenever i decided to have some sleep this same woman will appear to me, but the problem i got is the fact that i don’t know who she’s, the first time i saw her was on my dream so this things sometimes makes me want to run mad.
