One week gone and i was seriously anticipating for the return of that guy that has blown my mind,even though deep inside me i know i was hoping what is not,But the thought of seeing those handsome face of his alone is all i desire for now …….

Tola wont cease to come over to the mansion,i bet she cant wait for melvin arrival ,she spends most of her days in the mansion together with precious,always discussing about melvin return and making preparation for a fake wedding……

The past few days was hell for me,i was always getting at thier bad side,they just hate me for no reason …. i tried all my possible best not to reason them, with the help of mama femi i was able to conquer at least…

A week before melvin arrival,tola has done alot of shopping for melvin with the help of precious ….. in preparation for the coming friday…..

On saturday,me,mama femi,nkechi was in the kitchen washing,except joke only God knows where she went to, … i was about asking mama femi about her whereabout when we heard the bell ring….

Ding Dong!!!

Me: who could that be …. i asked mama femi ….

Mama femi: Let me go and check, …. she removed her apron and went to the sitting room ….

i knew mama femi is the only one who could do whatever she likes without questioning….

i could hear mama femi greeting the visitors….

Mama femi: Ah ekasan ma,e de ku ijo meta (Good afternoon ma,it been a while)…

Visitor: Ojo meta ni o(it been a while indeed) she said laughing…. Bawo ni gbogbo nkan,se e de ngburo awon omo yin(Hope all is well,hope you are hearing from your children)….

Mama femi: Yes ma,Ese ma(Thank you ma)…

Is like mama femi knows this visitor o,… i said to myself …. then i heard footstep down the stairs … i guess thats chief mrs…..

Chief mrs: Oh my inlaw…

Visitor: You are the sure and original inlaw..

They both laughed…..

On hearing that i dont need a soothsayer to tell it’s aduke ,tola’s mum ….Then mama femi came to the kitchen smiling

Nkechi: No be mama tola be that? .. she asked.

Mama femi: Yes o,chief mrs inlaw to be,she camr together with tola,you know melvin will be back next week,maybe they want to make some preparations… she said still smiling….

Me: what preparation…. i asked confused….

Mama femi: Wedding of course

On hearing that my heart skipped…

Me: Against melvin wish….

Mama femi: It is a seasonal film there lets see the outcome … she smiled…. nkechi pls go and serve them….

Nkechi: Yes ma ….she said and left the kitchen…..

i was facing the sink,… my greatest fear is about to come to past…. wedding just like that …. i was so lost in my thought when mama femi tapped me….

Mama femi: Keji, what’s wrong with you?

Me: hmmm …. Nothing ma…. i said trying to concetrate on the dish i washing….

Mama femi: Are you sure?

i was about replying when nkechi barged in unaware….

Nkechi: Haaaa!! una no hear wetin them they talk…

Me&Mama femi: very anxious…. No

Nkechi: How una no go hear,no be for this same kitchen we dey always hear information…

Mama femi: We were discussing something else and was carried away….

Nkechi: she moved closer….. you see ehn,chief mrs talk say nah for abroad they go do the wedding… she said smiling….

Me: Really…. forcing a smile ….,deep down i was boiling….

Mama femi: ehn ehn,, what else did they say….

Nkechi: They talk say welcome party go they for melvin when he return….

Mama femi: i seriously cant wait for melvin arrival,cus i want to see how it will go,why shoyod they make preparations when it is not yet sure if melvin would agree … haba…

Nkechi: Hmmm…. what if he don agree nko..

Mama femi:Maybe …. she said with sign of resignation….

I just kept washing the dishes like i was not part of the discussion… i was hurting seriously….

CooCe day we have all been anticipating for finally came….. infact i didnt sleep thorought the night. , i could not jisy sleep, i was hoping and praying for morning, so i could meet the guy who has stolen a space in my heart….

Due to the little information i was able to gather, it seems he should be home around 11am …. i kept rolling on my bunk trying to picture his handsome face….

i felt jealouse knowing fully well that tola has been in the mansion for the past one week waiting for melvin arrival …. should i say am being wicked for hoping and praying that melvin wont like tola ….. i just cant help it … probably am just decieving myself, many more thought keep running through my mind … i decided to catch some sleep and i slept off……

Mama femi woke us up very early around 7am … i reluctantly stood up from my bunk… streching my hands,i checked the time it was 7am….

Me: Mama, why did you wake us up this early…. still yawing..

Mama femi: Have you forgotten today is gonna be a special day .. she said smiling … melvin the senator’s son is arriving from the state today so we have to make every neccesary preparations … she added.

Nkechi: Yes o, you are right mama…

We all stood up,bathed and went to the kitchen … our office.

on getting to the sitting room we met precious and tola in thier nightie sipping juice and gisting about melvin return … we greeted them and head to the kitchen ….

At at 8am every worker was up on thier feet doing his/her assigned duty …. Nkechi and joke was cleaning the house while me and mama femi was in the kitchen … then i heard my name….. keji! keji! ..

Me: yes ma …. running to the sitting room.

Chief mrs: What were you doing in the kitchen … she asked…

Me: Washing the plates ma.

Chief mrs: Leave that to mama femi, charles take keji to my son’s room upstairs , let her do the cleaning … and you keji make sure that room sparkles am i clear?

Me: Yes ma …. i left the sitting room together with charles … he led me to melvin’s room,he opened the door and left immediately…

I entered the room and surveyed it, … it was really a bachelor’s room … seems he has been staying in this room all his life before he travelled out …

it was not has dusty and dirty as i thought, seems they usually clean it … his pictures were all over the wall,… many pictures, even pictures of his younger version …i took one of the pictures i looked at it smiled and kissed his forehead…. then i remembered i was asked to clean the room and not survey, i quickly dropped the picture checked the time it was 8:30am , and he would arrive by 11am … i quickly start the cleaning ,i swept every corner and cleaned everywhere till it was sparkling,not becus f chief mrs ,but it has to sparkle for the man i love… that was the first cleaning i did wholeheartedly since i got to the mansion ….probably because it is melvin’s room…

At exactly 9:30am i was done with the cleaning,i went down to the sitting room to inform chief mrs that am done with the cleaning, on getting there i met precious and tola well prepared and dressed … infact they were both looking like an angel … tola was just too pretty with the full flowing gown she wore and her light makeup .. hmm african princess… i seriously cant beat tola… not even with this my maid uniform and all back …. i fastened my step before they will say am staring at them ..

i met mama femi and nkechi in the kitchen gisting….

Me: And what are they talking about ooo….

Mama femi: Ahh, nothing really o,it is chief mrs, she sent the driver and some guard to the airport

Me: huh! isn’t it too early, it is just 10am, and he is suppose to arrive by 11am ..so why the rush.

Nkechi: Keji see you,who no go rush, after 5years of seperation, if na me ehn ,i go wake go the airport by myself….

Mama femi: You are right dear, it been a while so they have every right to be over excited,… she smiled

Then joke barged into te kitchen unannouced….

Mama femi: Shocked… ah ah what is it?

Joke: i hear something ni o..

Nkechi: shey nah why you kon scare us like that…

Me: What did you hear … i was anxious..

Joke: Senator call chief mrs for phone o, he talk say make dey use car do welcome party fo melvin…

Mama femi: Really? …wooah .. but he has enough cars already, at least like 3 … what does he need a new one for again…

Joke: Shey car dey too much ni? chai how i wish say my papa get money..

Me: hmmm… just be grateful and stop complaining…

Mama femi: You are right dear … olojukokoro oshi

We all laughed and began working…. we continued gisting about alot then we heard the driver horned at the gate..

Mama femi: Ehh … melving is here..

i felt my heart beat .. finally my dream man is back, i checked the time it was 11:30am… i quickly adjusted my uniform …

The guard announced the arrival of melvin the senatorhs son….

THE ONE WE HAVE ALL BEEN EXPECTING……
