I hurriedly concluded the preparation for my journey to Zaria before drifting off to sleep.

The general had directed me to be in his office latest 6.00am in the morning so that I could travel with military escort.

I couldn’t afford to be late.

I woke up as early as 4.00am the next morning and hurried off to the bathroom to have my bath.

By 4.10am I was through and proceeded to wear my cloth.

Then I sat on my bed and waited patiently for 5.00am.

By 5.00am on the dot I left my one room apartment and headed for General Obianodo’s office.

Everywhere was still dark and I had to trek to the bus stop where I would board the bus that would take me to the General’s office.

I got to the General’s office by 5.45am and the General was very happy to see me.

“How come you got yourself involved with the police?” He asked abruptly asif a flash illuminated his mind.

“They mistook me for someone else,” I lied. “I went to buy something and was coming back when they caught me,” I explained vaguely.

“Those silly boys,” the general commented. “Just because they’re in police uniform.” He added. I kept silent not wanting to betray my lie.

By 7am the military vehicle was ready and we left for Zaria on my journey to becoming a part of the military…

The years of training soon came and went just like everyother human endeavour and I eventually became an army man.

Chai, na dat time real power begin.

My escapades and adventure as an army man will be the main focus of the upcoming episodes.

It was then that I discovered the sweetness and intoxication of power.

The power and prestige behind uniform.

A uniform that signifies discipline, a uniform that signifies orderliness, a uniform that signifies strength, and a uniform that signifies fearlessness; to mention but a few.

It was then and then that real adventure began…
