Countless - S01 E35 (Story Episode)

The short message sunk into my shangoic brain instantly. I was frozen to the spot.

I was fidgeting with trembling hands for more than 5mins
I regained my composure, and sat down on the bed after locking the door and dropping my bag on the floor.

I decided to call Jide, maybe that smoked brain can render some help. I reached for my phone inside my pockets. I unlocked it and saw a new SMS alert from Gtbank.

Adedoyin have deposited 100k into my account. I smiled and dialed Jide’s number. He picked at the second ring

“hello, shango boy, thank…” he was saying before i cut in
“alaye, trouble don dey o. As i dey now, i fit die anytime now.”
“chill ogbeni, die ke? wetin happen?”he asked in a deeply concerned tone and i narrated the whole saga to him.

I can hear him heaved a deep sigh before he spoke up.

“ah…shango boy, dis one serious o! Make i no lie you, you don enter am for real”

“am aware of that Jide, but i no know wetin i wan do now na? Na why i call u be dat…i must not die o…hun..if i die, Nija go suffer o”.

“you no fit die jare, dey just wan scare you ni…cos i know that, if they mean business, them go don come meet you for house”
“but I don’t even know why everything turn out like dis! Jendo…help me na, i beg of you!” i said pleadingly.

“hmmm…you know what will happen now? I go try call damibiz and damibobo. Am sure they will help you. I go call you back later, you hear?”
“ok…no problem.. But Jendo, where should i stay for the meantime, am sure they will soon find me come here if i don’t leave now”.

“u be born idiot…go stay for your papa shrine na, idiot…if na me, i swear, i go stay for that house and nothing go happen!”
“says the glorified fool that ran away because of cultist battle…na u mumu pas” i retorted sarcastically

“you no fit compare that one with this your own na! That one na gun battle! No be threat! Idiot”

“i no even know why i call u gan self. My grandma would have provided a better solution assuming your papa no steal her phone”

“you dey try talk say ur grandma get sense pas me be that? Eh? Na thunder go fire you!”

“and you too idiot…abeg comot for here!”i terminated the call
I can’t say my interraction with Jide was fruitful or not. But I need to leave immediately. I reloaded my bag.

I head for the door and headed outside after locking it.

I still don’t know where to go. The Adedoyin duplex is not an option right now. She already left with the keys

I decided to call Chioma.
“hey Darous, how you doi….”
“save that for later please, i need your help…”

“ok…what kind of help?”
“can i stay at your place for a few days? Please, i need to move out of here now!”

“oh…Darous, as much as i would have really love to have you here, i can’t…am sorry Darous” She said

“but why? Please, i promise not to have sex with you..if you want, you can even padlock my dck..if thats what you are scared of Chy”

“com’on, dont be like that, you know i would never complain of you sexing me…”

“then why?” i interrupted.
“my mum just arrived yesterday. She use to pay me a 7days visit every month, and i haven’t introduce you to her yet. Thats why… Please am sorry.”

“don’t worry about me…i will be ok…bye”. I ended the call
I am totally stranded with no idea of where to go. I took a bike to Funaab and withdraw 30k to join the 64k remaining inside my wallet

The bike dropped me at the junction of my area.

I was still thinking of where to go when I saw 4 hefty guys having some jovialistic discussion

I approached the guys and started chatting with them. I took them to a bar and bought two crates of Goldbergs for them.

When they were through with the last crate, i told them everything about the threat and the robbers. I requested for their help and their leader assured me that, they will protect me and my konji. I gave them 30k for accepting to help me

I left their midst after collecting their numbers and headed out to the street. A call entered my phone, i checked the caller I.D and it was Joke.

I hurriedly picked it. After the pleasantries and accusations of not caring about her, i told her about my predicament
She said i should come to their house and speak with her mum. She assured me that her mum will let me stay with them.

I was led into the living room by Nike and was met with the sitting sight of Ajoke and a very alluring woman that was reading a fashion magazine. Seriously, beauty runs in this family.

“mum, this is Darous…the guy i was telling you about” Joke smiled as she introduced me to her mum

Their mum looked up and stared at my face for some seconds. She removed her glasses and rose up. She came closer to me and glared at my face for some seconds before she finally spoke up. I was already starting to feel uneasy with her glares

“I think have seen your face before..i can’t remember clearly when and where..!” She declared
