Countless - S01 E26 (Story Episode)

Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 26

“eh..Darous…Darous wake up.” I heard Chioma’s voice calling me from my slumber mind in what seems like a whisper.
“Please Chy…I already told you to wait till tomorrow…am tired to have any thing…”
She cuts in.

“I think something is going on outside.” She whispered quietly. I sprang up immediately.
I walked towards the door and placed my ear on it. I could hear some unrecognised voice speaking outside.

I opened the door quietly and peeped outside. I saw four guys with two of them puting on hallogen headlights while the remaining two were holding a pistol each. They have already assembled the other tenants outside their corridor. I recognised one of the guys. I tried to remember where I saw him. Then I remembered, he was the same guy at the ATM. I immediately become more alarmed.

I have a hunch that they must have come for me or traced me to my house.

I closed the door noiselessly and locked it. I told Chioma to remain very quiet. She nodded her head and sat down on the bed with a very frightened look on her face.

I approached the door again after thirty seconds and placed my ear back on it.
I could hear them asking one of the tenants about my room.
The guy told them ‘over there’ probably pointing towards my rooms direction. I hurriedly moved back inside and dragged Chioma up to her feet.
Barely seconds later, we heard a loud knock on the door and a loud voice speaks after.
“Open this door now or you will be sorry when we force it down.”

I remained standing and unyielding. I was scared to the bone and Chioma was already trembling.
They banged the door again but very hard.

“Open this door now! or we break it with force..Now!” He roared.

Chioma leaned over to me and wrapped her trembling arms around my waist.
“what are we going to do now? they will break that door.” she said with a shaking voice.
I was really lost on what to do. Then after their third threat, the gawd of thunder mentally gave me an idea.

I dragged Chioma to the kitchen and hide her behind the cabinet. Then I approached my freezer and brought out five empty bottles of goldberg. I went inside the toilet and filled each bottle full with water.
I heard the sound of the door handle break and I got ready for action. I waited for them to enter the room before I swung fully into action.

I faced the tiled toilet wall and picked one of the bottles filled with water. I aimed it at the wall and threw it with full force against it. It produced a very loud ear deafening sound replica to the sound of a gun shot. I repeated the same process rapidly with three more bottles and waited to hear from the room while holding the last bottle in my hand.

I could hear some scuffle outside, like five people trying to hurry out of a very small door. They were shouting ‘HE has a gun! That sonofabitch has got a gun!’ As they ran out very fast.

I ran outside and encourage the tenants to run after them. Five guys plus me went after them and luckily for us we caught one of them. The others got away.

We dragged him back to our house. After beating Kuje prison out of him.

Someone called the Police Response Squad and they arrived ten minutes later. They told us to come to the station in the morning to give our statement.

Chioma came over to me after they left and gave me a very tight hug.

“you did a very brilliant thing back there Darous.” She said and gave me another tight hug.

The guys walked over to us and asked me where I got a gun.
I smiled and made for my door steps and picked up the remaining bottle of water.
I raised it up and said;
“WHO NEEDS A fvcking gun, when have got A BOTTLE OF GOLDBERG?” The guys didn’t get the subtle message I was passing to them and I had to take them to my toilet to show them the shattered shards of bottle on the floor before they got the logic.

“WOW! guy am really impressed. You are a life saver.” Said one of the guys.

PHCN brought the light after twenty five minutes of the incident. The other tenants went back to their rooms making sure they had atleast a bottle with them.

Chioma helped me in cleaning of the toilet, and we showered again.

We couldnt sleep atall. Chioma placed her head on my chest and began rubbing my thighs.
Just to kill time, we started watching a philipino film titled : HER MOTHERS DAUGHTER season3. Its quite an intresting film. Infact, its arguably one of the best movies have ever watched on my plasma t.v. We watched it till PHCN took the light around five. I then switched on the lamp.

Chioma climbed over my body and said,

“Can we have that victory sex now?” she asked biting her lower lips.

‘This life can’t get any better than this, can it?’
