STEVE'S POV :

I was still processing these questions in my head when Uncle Dan, Tola and Nife walked in with a man wearing a white cloth and a stethoscope hung on his neck which I assumed to be the Doctor and a nurse holding a tray which container some injections and tablets.. I was feeling a little bit relieved after taking some injections from the Doctor and when my eyes caught Nife, her eyes were red and swollen — she must have been crying all this while …

UNCLE DAN : Doctor, how is he now ?

DOC : His vitals are good, just need a couple of rest and in a few days he will be discharged..
moreover, we still need to watch him and study his recovery process..

UNCLE DAN : (sighs ) whatever is the case, just make sure he’s fine and sound ..

DOC : sure Daniel, I’m a professional at this and I don’t need to be reminded that; How about you guys get him something to eat since he just woke up, he’ll be needing alot of energy to ease his recovery..

UNCLE DAN : Okay, Tola — please get something for Steve to eat (handing her his ATM card ) and please be fast ..

NIFE : (was already seated at the edge of the bed, rubbing my legs ) Steve, you must be strong — for me, for yourself and for the legacy of your parents .. I’m hurt seeing you this way and I would give anything for things to get better, I can’t take away your hurt–but you have my shoulder to cry on and my loving hugs. know that I will be here for you when you need me and I also know and believe with time you’ll get past this hurdle ..

—– I smiled assuredly, knowing deep down — Life is something you don’t get over with, you get through it — it doesn’t get better, it gets different .. STEVE : Mum, Mum … You’re alive …

MUM : (Laughs) of course son, I am ..

STEVE : I thought you’re dead, Uncle Dan said you died after the fire and Dad dint make it too..

MUM : C’mon son, your Dad is alive too..

STEVE : Really … (Jumps up happily) I knew you people couldn’t just leave me like that.. so where is he right now ?

MUM : He’s busy, son … you’ll see him someday

STEVE : When… mum ? let’s go back … what are you doing in here ?

MUM : Son, I don’t belong in your world anymore.. I have mine now.. This is where I belong

STEVE : No mum, look — we can go back right now, ill carry you see (shows off his muscle ) I now hit the gym, I can carry you — you don’t belong here, you belong with me …let’s go home ..

MUM : No son, This is home — I made it home I just wanted you to know I made it home. Everything is so pretty here, so white, so fresh, so new. I wish that you could close your eyes so you could see it too. Please try not to be sad for me. Try to understand. God is taking care of me….. I’m in the shelter of his hands. Here there is no sadness, and no sorrow, and no pain. Here there is no crying, and ill never be hurt again. Here it is peaceful when all the angels sing, I really have to go for now… I’ve just got to try my wings. PS. . . I’ll be the first face you see when you get here! GOODBYE STEVE …(disappears into the darkness)

STEVE : (screams ) mum !!!!!!!!!!! _—— MUm !!!!! nooooooo–oooo, you can’t leave me ..

The Doctor and some nurses ran in after hearing his scream and shake him back to reality..

STEVE : (opens his eyes painting hard and sweating ) Doctor– Doct–or, my mum– ii–I –I saw her just now..

DOC : relax boy, It was just a dream.. part of the post-traumatic stress.. you’ll get over it .. get some sleep

(he walks out with the nurses)

STEVE : Grief is like the ocean; it comes on waves ebbing and flowing. Sometimes the water is calm, and sometimes it is overwhelming. All we can do is learn to swim — Those we love don’t go away, they walk beside us everyday. Unseen, unheard but always near, still loved, still missed, and held so dear..

I opened the food flask beside my bed and began to munch the food in silence — I gulped the water down my throat and made a loud sound to show I was filled — was about turning to sleep when I saw a note beside me, I opened it gently and read the contents aloud :

—my blessing — may the sun bring you new energy everyday,

—bringing light into the darkness of your soul
—may the moon softly restore you by night bathing you in the glow of restful sleep
—and peaceful dreams
—may the rain wash away your worries and cleanse the hurt that sits in your heart

—always knowing that you are never parted in the beating of your heart

Who was this mysterious person, few days back I had a mysterious call, now a mysterious message — but one thing was certain — either this mysterious sender was different from the mysterious caller OR the mysterious caller now cares .. Hmm, TIME WILL TELL

MICHELLE : Mr. Barley welcome back [ushers him into a seat]

MR. BARLEY : Good evening, Ma’am

MICHELLE : How was the job.. hope you no one saw you ?

MR. BARLEY : No one, ma’

MICHELLE : Good, I just sent something into your account

MR. BARLEY : But Madam — why don’t you want him to know you were the one that did it

MICHELLE : Its not time for him to know– He will know in due time

Stanley was at the corner of the room and took a voice recording of everything– Michelle was beginning to develop feelings for Steve no way— I can’t lose to that coward, I will spoil your party, Michelle.. All I have to do is give this recording to Steve and the war between them will consume both at once .. Ill remove Michelle and Steve from the picture with one swipe … BRAVADO STAN ! — (chuckles)

MICHELLE POV :

I couldn’t believe I could develop feelings for Steve, I was hurt when I learnt his parents died in a fire incidence but something wasn’t right– on the said day of the incident, Stanley and Barley were nowhere to be found– well, its just premonitions — Barley can’t be working for Stanley and Stanley couldn’t commit such an act he doesn’t have the balls to pull it off..

—- Oh my dear Steve, I just need to handle some things– you’ll meet your mysterious person in due time

STANLEY'S POV :

STANLEY : Barley.. is everything set ?

MR. BARLEY : Yes sir.. I changed the last statement to — plays audio : In edited Michelle’s voice – Its not time for him to die yet– He will meet his parents someday but he must become a useless dog before meeting them..

STANLEY :( smiles) good .. what about the other matter ?

MR. BARLEY : She could off the order said I should just deliver a customized energy drink with the name Steve on it

STANLEY : Just as expected — she doesn’t know she’s acting as predicted

MR. BARLEY : whats on your mind sir ?

STANLEY : Add Aphrodisiac to it …

MR. BARLEY : Sir, whats the plan ?

STANLEY : she will give the energy drink to him as expected herself, the coward will take him but knowing who he is and how popular he is — a female will want to share with him and he will give her.. not knowing the contents, their sex drive will be heightened and they will need to ease off in some place — I will follow him and video them– send the video to my Dad and he will handle the rest.. as for Michelle, you’ll make a wine for me and add aphrodisiac to it, so I will have sex with her, disvirgin her and make a video of it —

meanwhile, ill send the audio recording to Steve myself and make him believe Michelle was also the one that did the video just to destroy him— he will evicted from the school and Michelle was also be investigated by the police and taken to jail…

MR. BARLEY : woah, bravo sir — but won’t I be implicated my voice is in there ?

STANLEY : That is why ? this is your last job — we will fake your death and ill send you out of this country, we will make it look like Michelle killed you to tie off loose ends.

MR. BARLEY : woah sir, you’ve got the brain — but ain’t you being too lenient on Steve, just sending him off like that ?

STANLEY : what do you propose , we can’t kill the Uncle — He’s a tough man

MR. BARLEY : Let’s make the female — |Nelly | … the Uncle will hate him and chase him out after that; then you send him on the way to meet his parents ..

STANLEY : WOW !!! IMPRESSIVE … let’s do it that way
