after we found out that it was emeka who raped me,he was given the beaten of his life by my dad,he was about taking emeka to the army barracks to spend one week but my mum knows what might happen so she pleaded for him to be locked up in the police station,thank God for Chioma been the best friend I’ve ever had,she rained curses on emeka while she cried heavily..

her mum later took her home but what I appreciated the more was sean,he stood beside me all through the drama trying to comfort me until the principal asked him to go home..

I feel severe pains in my vaginal that I couldn’t walk properly, I couldn’t close my legs,blood started dripping down my vaginal,I started feeling feverish with severe headache
so i was taken to the hospital immediately to treat myself and do some examination which means I have to spend the night in the hospital…

I tried to pretend like nothing happened by smiling to some of my friends as I entered the gate,I looked for somewhere outside to sit alone before class started, I covered my face in between my as little drop of tears fell to the ground, CHIOMA?(I heard my name beside me),I quickly cleaned my face before looking up, and I was Adams, a sad expression written all over his face..

Adams: pls tell me,was it really true about what I heard about mj?(i nodded)and bursted into tears.

Adams quickly rushed and sat down beside me..

Adams: shhh,it okay,she’s going to be fine(as he pulled me into a hug),other people who came for practice watched us but I never cared..

we got to Adam’s gate when I remembered the charger..

Chioma:before I forget,can I have the charger?

Adams: oh I forgot to bring it from my room, why don’t you come with me inside so I can quickly rush to get it upstairs..

Chioma:ahh noo,I’ll rather wait here outside for you..

Adams: Pls just come see my family for once nah..

5minutes later, he came out with the charger on his hands..

Chioma:Adams don’t go now,(as I held him by the waist),are you angry with me?(as I pouted my mouth)..

Adams: Chioma just Leave me Alone and go home(as he struggled to remove my hands wrapped around his waist)..

Chioma:baby nah,okay fine let go inside if that will make you happy..

Adams:no don’t bother anymore, it late already, you should get going (as he removed my hands and entered the gate in anger)..

Chioma:Adams Adams are you going just like that?(tears started falling down my cheeks as I walked home)

I entered my gate and saw a range Rover parked inside..

Chioma: oh my God, my dad is home.
I walked gently to the door,entered, but there was nobody in the living room but the TV was on…

I entered the kitchen but my mum wasn’t there,so why is the car in the compound?,maybe she’s in her room..
I walked towards her room,opened it quickly without knocking..

I clicked the power button on my phone and switched it on while it still charging, I looked for Adam’s number, i dialed it the first time, he didn’t pick,dialed the second time, he didn’t pick and I dialed the third time,it was about getting disconnected and he picked..

I quickly hide the phone and charger in my drawer..
I opened the door and saw my mum and dad standing by the door..

Chioma: am trully sorry for barging into your room without knocking mum,she and my dad scratch their necks in embarrassment..

mum:it okay, uhm hope you’re not angry?

Chioma: angry?why should I be angry?you’re both my mum and dad..

I followed him to the living room while my mum went to the kitchen to serve dinner..

dad:wait here lemme go bring it from my booth (as he walked out of the door), few minutes later he entered with a brand new keyboard in a carton..

mum:why don’t you take them to your room and come let eat dinner..

I carried the keyboard and the iPhone x to my room..

so am I going to give Adams back his phone?, i wonder why is he annoyed with me….
I plugged the techno back to the socket, I was about removing the iPhone from it pack when heard my mum’s voice..

mum: Chioma come let eat ooo,you can open the phone and keyboard later..
I dropped the phone back on the bed and ran out..

I’ve never been this happy in my entire life to have complete family, to be able to eat in one table laughing and talking but there’s somebody missing?

Chioma:dad what about junior?

Dad: okay his with your aunt,miss anita,she takes him to school and taking care of him till I get back..
so your mum and I have decided we will be getting married by December (as they held hands together)..

Chioma:wow I can’t wait to have a father, how did you guys meet anyways?

Dad: your mum and I met in school,unilag to be precise during our graduation but as normal friends so we lost touch and went for our youth service, so I came to the school where she taught 3 months ago for a meeting with her principal and that how we met again..

I had a quick shower before changing into my pyjama..
I read a little of the exam tomorrow for over 30 minutes before climbing back to bed..

Tuesday morning (6:05am)

I dashed out of bed to have my bath,after that i got dressed,unplug my phone,maybe I will open the phone pack when I get back(as I left it back on the bed before walking out)..
my mum and dad we’re dressed already, we we’re eating when we heard a knock at the door..

(I stood up to go answer the door)

mum:don’t worry sit down I’ll see who’s at the door(as she walked towards the door)..

Chioma:yes(with my mouth full)

mum:Adams is here to pick you..

Chioma:really? (as I drank my tea and stood up to leave)

Dad: uhh who is Adams?

Chioma:we attend the same school and he lives down the street..

Dad: okay,have this (as he gave me a #1000 note),I will be going back to the island today..

Chioma:why nah?

(my mum came back to eat at the table)..

Dad: you know I need to be with junior because he schools in the island, don’t worry after your mum and i get married we we all stay together as one big family..

I quickly rushed to the kitchen, took my medicine before running to the door, I opened it and saw Adams on his phone,we stared at each for a second..

Adams: do you want us to keep doing staring competition or we should get going?..

Chioma:oh uhm sorry let go(as he handed me his helmet)..
i hopped on his bike as we started going..
few minutes later we arrived at the school..

after the assembly, I was a bit late so I took bike to the school gate and entered the school,I greeted the security before walking straight into my office,i was about going to the class am supposed to invigilate when a knock came on my door immediately..

tayo:come in(I yelled), and the principal entered with two new corpers wearing their nysc uniform..

everybody had gone for lunch but I remained in class because I had no one to talk to in school,mj is still in hospital,sean feels very sad and don’t want to talk to anyone and Adams don’t want to talk to me because of a little misunderstanding..

I buried my face in my locker crying when I heard my name, CHIOMA?,I turned to look and saw David who was emeka’s friend and seat mate..

Chioma:what do you want?(I yelled), I hope you are finally satisfied with what your friend has done to best friend..

I brought out my phone and scrolled to the gallery to look at Adams pictures, tears started dropping down from my eyes as I stare at his pictures, Adams you’re breaking my heart by treating me this way..

suddenly adams entered my class with his hand in his pocket and and the holding his guitar..
I quickly wiped off my tears and pretended to be pressing my phone.
