Mr. Billionaire - S01 E26 (Story Episode)

Read Story: SEASON 1 EPISODE 26

I honestly have to say, I was weary letting a stranger in. Oddly enough I kept thinking of Snow White. How the queen disguised herself as a merchant and showed up at the door.

And Snow White– being kindhearted to the point of foolishness – let her in. The result of her foolishness was that she was poisoned and put into a temporary sleep.

As I was thinking this, the man came from the kitchen.
“Thanks,” he said, leaning against the wall casually.

I swallowed. The way he moved was so…calculated. So cunning. Something uneasy stirred in the pit of my stomach. I glanced at the clock. It was eight o’clock sharp.

Nervously, I toyed with the ribbon that tied my hair back in a loose ponytail. The man watched. Was I imagining the look of sadness in his green eyes?

“So you’re Liam Hawke’s new love,” he said quietly, his voice was so silky and so velvety that not even a kings fine robes could compare.

I sighed. “Yeah, I guess.”
He pursed his lips, looking pained.

“Hey, are you okay?” I got up slowly and walked toward him, weighing every step I took with caution.

He looked at me, his eyes holding mine. I could sense his sadness, almost like it was my own.

The sound of a car pulling into the driveway filled my ears and I turned away from my visitor and looked out the window. I saw William helping Carole out of the car and Liam standing close by, laughing.

They were back an hour earlier than they were supposed to be.
I turned back and suddenly the man was close to me. His eyes trapping mine, holding them in his intense gaze.

“Too much kindness is a bad thing, Miss. Michaels.”
I blinked, wondering how he knew my name. When the lock clicked and the door began opening, he ran as quickly and quietly as an assassin.

My hair swirled around my face and in horror I realized he took my ribbon.

Sneaking from the Hawke residence was easy. And once he was far enough away, he replayed everything.

The way she’d looked as she opened the door. The way her big brown eyes had looked into his. Never before had he felt this way about someone he was assigned to kill.

When she’d turned her back to look out of the window, he’d had his dagger ready. He was ready to take her life. But, for some reason, his hand refused. He couldn’t bring himself to bring his hand down and kill her.

It would’ve been so easy.
He sighed as he walked. The cool October night air whipping his hair back. He held a single pink ribbon in his hand, clutching it like his life depended on it.

She has no idea. No idea how she’s
effecting me…

“Yvonne, are you alright? You don’t look so good,” Liam murmured, staring at me in worry. I had told Liam I needed to speak with him and now we were in the room I slept in here.
I swallowed and threw him the most sarcastic, bitchy expression I could muster.

“Gee, thanks a bunch.”
Liam grinned cockily. “I knew you preferred it when I told you how attractive you were.” He paused and his eyes widened in excitement as a thought occurred to him. “Is that why you bought me to your room? Were you planning on seducing me?”

I rolled my eyes. “No, never. Now chill.”

I frowned. I hadn’t wanted it to come to this, but Levi was right.
“Liam, I think Gretchen is trying to kill me.”

Liam’s expression went from blank to shocked to angry in a matter of seconds.

“She what? ”
I have never seen Liam this angry. He was usually always so calm. This side of him was unnerving.

“At the restaurant we went to where you were talking to your colleagues Lucas pulled me outside and told me how Gretchen was jealous of the time you’ve been spending with me. Lucas said she had a history of killing people who she thinks stand between her and what she wants.

“And then right before you came home, this English guy showed up at the door and said his car broke down. I let him come in and use the phone. He didn’t do anything but I got this vibe. I think he was the one hired to kill me.”
Liam’s voice was strained as he said, “This Englishman, what did he look like?”

“He had shaggy brown hair and green eyes.” I tried to remember him further. “He had a lightening bolt tattoo on his right hand.”

Liam’s expression was unfathomable as he murmured, “I see. Don’t worry about anything, Yvonne. I’ll handle it.”

And he turned and left.

The way his eyes had burned and the quiet anger in his voice sent chills down my spine. It was obvious that Liam Hawke was not an enemy you’d want to make.

Liam stepped out of Yvonne’s room, pissed. His breathing was erratic and his heart was pounding.

When Yvonne had bought him to her room he thought: She’s finally gonna
let me tap that. And, honestly he had no problem with that.

He was more than prepared to give her the kind of sex she’d dream about and crave for the next century. But when she’d told him about Gretchen…

He shook his head and headed into his room. He grabbed his cellphone. He dialed and waited as it rang. It went to voicemail.

“Hey, it’s Lucas. I’m not in right now, but you know what to do.” His voice was monotonous.

“Hey, Lucas, call me back we need to talk.” He clenched his hand into a fist and said, “Ryan is back and he’s after Yvonne.”
