They drove back to the compound as every one was distracted.

They got down from the van.“Lemme help you.” Gunner said as he moved closed to Amanda and Maureen to assist her. “Don’t lay your fingers on me.” Maureen says looking at him deadly as he lifts his hands up immediately in a funny manner “Alright, was just trying to help,” he says as he entered the house with the others. “Where’s Viper?” Potiphar’svoice startled them all. “Dead.” Big Daddy said as he got close to him.“What happened?”“Shot by a cop.” “Where is the money?.” “Right here.” Gunner responded as he and the rest throws the bag of money to his feet. “You’re bleeding.” Potipharsaw Maureen’s bleeding hand. “Yes dad.” She responded weakly. “Good, next time you’ll be careful.” He said not making any eye contact. “Amanda you know what to do.” “Yea Godfather.” She says still holding Maureen.

She helped her get to her room and place her on the bed.

The cloth is stained with blood as it keeps pressure. “Let me go get the first aid kit.” Amanda says leaving her alone in the room, she walks down the stairs and sees Yakubu seated with Potiphar, obviously talking about the operation with Gunner no where in sight.

She walks to the kitchen and opens the glass cabinet where the first aid kit is, she took the box and exited the kitchen but bumped into Gunner spilling his juice on him. “Watch it,” he says looking at his stained shirt. “Am sorry.” She says as she tries to walk pass him but he held her back. “Am not complaining love.” He says smiling at her. “Don’t you ever call me love fool.” She says, obviously angry. “Chill Amy, just wanna be friends with you.” he said looking at her. “As you can see, am with a first aid box and Maureen needs my attention.” She says as she tries to walk pass him again but he holds her back once more but Amanda use her knee and hits his g---n as he grumbles immediately, he let go of her hand as he groans in pain. “She has a good leg.” He says as he manage to get back up. “Sorry, got held up.” Amanda said as she re-entered the room with the first aid box. “By the new guy?” Maureen sat up looking at her.“How do you know?” She asks laughing. “Well, since he saw you. He hasn’t taken his eyes off of you. Don’t tell me you didn’t notice it.” “I didn’t cause I got my eyes on you love,” she says as she leaned in for a kiss but is denied of it. “There is plenty of time so just stitch me up okay?.” “Alright.”

Few minutes later. “Done and dusted.” Amanda says as she wrap the wound area with a white bandage.“Yea, so where really were you Amanda?.”“I don’t get you.” She says confusingly. “You left Lagos for four whole days with no means of contact. No one knew where you went including me.” “Am sorry Maureen but I wanted to be alone at that time.” “I understand, but you haven’t told me where you were.” “Just been around. Gotta go now.” She says standing up from the bed. “You don’t wanna tell me.”“It isn’t like that Maureen. But really, it doesn’t matter where I was, am here now.” “Yea, because of him right.”“Who are you talking about?” “Michael, my father called you, he told you about his death and that’s why you came out of hiding.” “His dead Maureen, give him that respect for Christ sake.” “I know he is dead, I saw him die.”Amanda froze up from that sentence. “What do you mean you saw him die?.”She ask staring at her. “I meant I was there when he was shot and am even glad about it. Now I can have you all to myself.” “Really, your happy right. Well f--k you Maureen, am going to my house.” She walks to the door and place a hand on the knob.“Am sorry Amanda, never should have said that.” She quickly apologize but Amanda didn’t say a word as she leaves the room.

Entering the parlor, Potiphar was no longer there except for Big Daddy who looks at her strangely. “Here’s your share. Sixty Million naira.” He says as he points at two bags close to him before he walks out of sight.
