My instagram Love - Season 1 - Episode 44

I was willing to start afresh; to forget all about Prince Charming, to minimize my use of Instagram and any other social media platform that made life unbearable for a disabled person like me so that I could focus more on the things and the people that really mattered in my life because they were the only ones who deserved the best of me. I had even started to keep a record of the days that were yet to come, because I was planning to deactivate my social media accounts on a particular day, which happened to be the day I came into being in a godforsaken, miserable planet like Earth.

Shifting all these thoughts aside, I dropped my bowl on the stool after I was satisfied with the sumptuous breakfast that was prepared by my humble self, drank a lot of water, dropped the glass on the same old stool, turned on my radio cassette player and looked at the enhanced clock that was mounted on the wall of my room. The clock had an alarm that was quite useful to me sometimes, and the ability to tell the time in digital mode, to show the date, month and year of a certain period if one needed those extra features it could do.

Saturday. 11:25 AM.

Another day to count my blessings and be grateful for the comfortable life I was living. However, when I turned on the radio and increased the volume to a moderate level, the first song that reverberated through my ears was like a slap in the face for me. It was Adele’s Hello which I liked so much, but I wasn’t in the mood to feel emotional for any reason, so I had to turn the knob gently so I could change the current station to another radio station.

Unfortunately, Don Williams’ track titled Some Broken Hearts Never Mend was playing on the station I tuned in. I changed it immediately to another one, only to find one of Akon’s best-selling songs popularly known as Lonely, playing there, too. I could’ve sworn that all of those radio stations had conspired against me because when I tried another one again, hoping for a groovy song that I could vibe to, James Arthur’s Impossible was what I stumbled across, and it ruined my mood for that morning.

I turned off the radio and sighed, thinking of what to do next between a vast array of options–like downloading a movie that I could watch on my phone, reading one of the novels from the shelf in my mother’s room, spending quality time on an app called W-----d, taking a nap, doing some revisions on my school notes and so many other options on the list that I couldn’t even make a decision on. While I was still contemplating on what to do, someone knocked at the door and called my name. I recognized his voice immediately, and told him to come in. He adhered by twisting the doorknob.
