Letter To My Girlfriend - Season 1 - Episode 16

Just at Joyce’s gate, Mento waited patiently for her to return. He folded his hands and crossed his legs leaning on his car which driver’s door was open. The gateman came out in amazement why he chose to stay outside instead of inside. That was unusual.

“Kai oga, i no go go inside?” the gateman asked opening all this scattered teeth but Mento ignore him burning with anger. “Oga..” he slowly touched him.

“Bleep you mehn!” Mento turned sharply and angrily like a lion trying to grab its prey making the gateman startle and running back to the gate. “Bleep a hell outta here!!” Mento concluded as he went back to his initial position.

“Kai!!” the gateman exclaimed with a foot across the gate for a precaution of Mento’s reaction. “I Bleep me, i Bleep me everytime. I no get’am for yarinya wey me i go Bleep, kai!” he paused for a while. “Oga!” he called again. Immediately Mento turned, he ran inside and locked the gate swiftly.

Suddenly, Joyce arrived. She came out from the car when she saw Mento blocking the gate.


“Where de Bleep are you coming from?!”

“Is that why you blocked my gate?”

“Yo, mehn! You gat to explain what you were doing with that old fool!”

“Who are you talking about?”

“The wretched mechanic”

Joyce thought for a while. She looked at him and turned to go but Mento grabbed her hand.


“You dare not walk away from me!”

“Release my hand now!” Joyce roared forcing her hand off. Then Mento raised his hand to slap her which she noticed and dodged her head. “You dare not lay your hands on me! Try it!”

Mento raised down his hands. “I’m gonna show that bastard the stuff i’m made of!” he threatened.

Hearing that, Joyce’s mind skipped. She turned sharply looking at Mento as he entered his car and drove off.

Emmanuel and Brano were still smoking badly when Mento arrived. He polluted the environment with dust when the car drove in, then he joined them angrily. Without saying a word, he wrapped a weed and started smoking uncontrollably. Only Brano showed concern. As for Emma, he had gone gaga.

“What is your problem too?” Brano asked Mento.

“Can you imaging that Joyce has been seeing a wretched guy who cannot even take a proper bath?!”

“Heehh!”

“Yo, mehn!”

Hearing that, Emma concentrated looking at Mento.

“I told you guys that a man is the cause of your babes reaction!” Brano shouted hitting his hand on the table.

“What are you talking about?” Mento leaned forward.

“Emma here is saying the same thing!”
Mento looked at Emma for further explanation.
“Bros..” Emma began. “A stupid guy touched and threatened me because of my angle, Cynthia”

“Bleep mehn!” Mento exclaimed. “Where did this happened?”
“At Monnak, bro”

“Monnak? That’s the same place i saw the guy that came out from Joyce’s car!”

“Do mean it?”

“Yes!”

“Can you describe him?”

“He’s a bit tall and fair..”

“And also handsome?” Emma interrupted provoking Mento the more with his last word.

“Bleep you mehn!” he exclaimed. “But he’s handsome” he concurred then Brano began to laugh at them silently. “He looks dirty, more like a mechanic” Mento added.

“Exactly! That must be the same guy that want to take my Cynthia away! Damn!”

[B] “So, only one guy gat two babes which you are unable to get one” Brano mocked them.

“I gonna kill him. I swear to God” Emma concluded.

“Yo, mehn, we gonna pay him a visit” Mento supported.

Joyce and Cynthia were in the same position in bed-different houses, staring at the ceiling. Both thought of hearing Nath’s voice as they reached their phones. Fortunately for Cynthia, Nath called b4 she dialed his number, then she picked instantly. While Joyce received a notification: NUMBER BUSY. Then her mind went to Cynthia. “She must be the one Nath is calling” she thought with a broken heart and began to type a message.

“Good evenin” Cynthia greeted on d phone.

“Evenin” Nath replied with a low voice.

“You don’t sound happy”

“Uhm..”

“Did anybody offend you?”

“No” they remained quiet.

Nath dizziness was caused by Joyce’s tears and heartbreak. He couldn’t stop thinking how she feels because she’s a good and a kind girl.

“I will be going out tomorrow for a private work” Nath broke the silence.

“When will you be back?” Cynthia asked as to know when she will give him an answer to his proposal.

“That same day” Nath replied.

“Alright, safe journey”

“Thanks, good night”

“Night” the line went dead.

As Nath sluggishly wanted to keep his phone, Joyce’s message entered. It read thus: I KNOW YOU CHOSE TO CALL CYNTHIA INSTEAD OF ME.. I WISHED TO HEAR YOUR VOICE BUT GOOD NIGHT.

Nath didn’t know what to do. As he was thinking of a way forward, Cynthia’s message came in. It read thus: OUR HEART BEAT TOGETHER, I CAN FEEL IT. WE HAVE THE SAME LOVE, AND I CAN SEE IT IN YOUR EYES. WE WERE MEANT NOT TO DEPART, I LOVE YOU.

Nath smiled and replied Cynthia’s message immediately saying: I LOVE YOU TOO. While he called Joyce severally but she didn’t pick up..
