After two days only Chike recovered from the illness.

The incident made Chike and Chidi his immediate younger brother start believing the story of the curse on the family.

When Chike had fully recovered, he joined his father in wine tapping without further arguments. Chidi, on the other hand, had not given up his demand to go to school and reverse the family curse.

Since Chike’s return, however, Amadi’s family had been in confusion, for Chike had agreed to settle down to the palm-wine tapping business because of his narrow escape from the hands of the wicked gods of Ajana. On the other hand, Chidi and his younger brother, Josh, who was now approaching school age, were on the opposing side……….. ….
