Must Read: Chronicles Of Temy (My Life On Campus) - Season 1 - Episode 4

The following week witnessed the commencement of an SUG election which took effect on regular bases every year in school. Although I am a bona fide student of AAU but I wasn't really an adherent of school politics but I prayed and hoped that whoever was sworn in as the new Student Union Government was to effectively provide positive changes and bring the great Ambrose Alli University Back to its past glory.

Anyways I sat down outside my hostel on a Saturday evening eating groundnut and diluting it with a cold can of coke. The weather that evening was so hot to the extent that one could observe the domestic goats passing by sweating profusely. I pulled off my shirt and voluntarily used one of my textbook which I was reading to blow cool breeze on my body.

"mehn, this weather hot o." I said aloud as I fanned myself .Everything for ekpoma na always times two. If rain wan fall, e go flood everywhere, if sun wan shine, e fit boil eba. God abeg help us o".

I was brought back to reality by my very good crazy friend Smart. He walked hurriedly into my hostel yard with immediate alacrity. When I saw him at first coming towards my direction with full speed, I was about to disappear to the oblivion or lemme put it this way, I was about to pick race.

"Temy, why you dey run na. Wetin dey pursue you" he asked still walking hurriedly towards my direction.

I halted for a moment to observe if I was safe. The fear of the Nigerian army was still giving me sleep less Nights.

"guy why you dey waka like that na. Person dey pursue you. For this hot sun you dey waka like who the entire community dey find" I asked in anger.

"Temy chill, I get good news. Your boy wan enter politics. Hehe." He smiled at me exposing his brown teeth.

Well to begin with, Smart is actually my friend. He is about 5'6 tall, chocolate skinned, with a brown hair like that of sisqo. Smart is actually a radical to the core, sometimes he acts like he is a ____ lol. But we are good friends anyways. He always confined in me whenever any issue arises such as this.

"Smart you sure about this thing wey you wan do?" I asked, still looking very surprise at this recent development.

"Temy everywhere good. I don buy the form already. Abeg you go help me campaign. You know how e dey go na" he said.

"mehn..." I scratched my head with my left hand.
"oboy! Temy you dey flex o. See groundnut and coke. How far, you go buy me Coke na, make I dey sip too. I don dey waka since, all my back dey pain me." He said.

He gulped the entire coke into his mouth and smiled with satisfaction. I told him to relax a bit while I hurriedly went to my customer Mama Agero shop to get coke and biscuits for Smart. I came back in no time to observe Smart with no shirt on

**************************************
I indeed hated politics, but what more could I do than to support my friend, comrade Smart.
After my afternoon lectures on Monday, I was on the way to board a bus headed to the school main gate when I observed about 3 missed calls on my phone, I checked the callers I.d. It was Juliet my ex.

"damn, Juliet just called me. Oh! My phone has been on silent since morning" I smiled as I scrolled through my contact list.

I indeed missed Juliet but the truth is we had no more connection, we weren't vibing like we used to, things just couldn't be as it used to. I then decided not to call her back. I headed straight to where the bus heading to the school gate resided.

Not too long, I got another missed call yet again from Juliet but this time around I picked it.
Me: Hello juli

Juliet: Temy, I have been calling you. Are you ignoring me

Me: No...no nooo. Why should I?

Juliet: No wahala o. Where are you?

Me: I'm still in school, but I am about to go home.

Juliet: I am in school. Please can we see.

Me: Why?

Juliet: We need to talk

Me: Okay, where can we meet?

Juliet: Lets meet at the restaurant close to the female hostel.

Me: I no get money o

Juliet: Don't worry I will take care of the bills.

Me: Okay.

She dropped call.
I stood still for a while wondering what Juliet
had got to say.

"why the urgency, I hope no be wetin I dey reason o" I thought as I embarked on the journey towards the restaurant close to the female hostel.
