Must Read: Memoirs Of Dying And Living

Epilogue:

Charles Akande a.k.a Silly Bear shed tears on hearing of Ibinabo’s demise “they killed him like a fowl” he said. “They will pay. I will make sure of it”, he finished.

David was flown out of the country to the UK organized by Tonie’s contacts. It was the same hospital that Ben was operated on 8 times just so they could reconstruct his jaw and 4 more time to reconstruct his face Tonie had told Chido but all Chido could think of was “Ben is alive”.

Black Mamba and Tonie were also to leave the county soon but they all knew the threat on their lives was not over yet. Black Mamba and Tonie surprised Chido with travel document and a British visiting visa which was good because Chido had also received his travel documents from the Canadian embassy to join his parents.

Chido wanted to say good bye to lots of people but Tonie advised him against it but instead insisted they all left the country immediately. They did just that.

Tonie took them to his father’s house immediately they arrived Manchester. It was while they were hanging out with Tonie that Mamba spoke up yelling Chido “[/B] bro, u have been unfair to you. I have had some information that I could have given you for months now and I am so sorry that I kept quiet till now”. [/B]

Chido didnt understand what had gotten Mamba so emotional till Mamba mentioned “Grace is in the UK. I can take you to where she is living”. Chido blanched but kept silent.

After they had rested Mamba took one of the cars in Tonie’s garage and drove Chido to the another posh environment not too far from where Tonie’s Dad had built his house. It was easy for him to get through the top notch security that was in place. He took Chido by the hand pulled him along till they were inside the mansion. Then he held onto his hand moving from room to room till he located Grace lying by the pool under the sun wearing a pikini, reading a novel and drinking ice tee.

Chido’s first impression was of shock as he didn’t recognise the slim girl but on close observation he recognised Grace. His jaw dropped, she was very beautiful compared to when he knew her before. Unlike in the past when she was chubby, almost fat but now she was slim almost skinny. Grace could have past for an model.

Mamba hugged and kissed her and then he held her shoulder annd whispered something to her. As he left he sq££zed Chido’s hands and walked past.

Grace asked him annoyed “what are you doing here? If not for my cousin you won’t be allowed in”. Chido replied her “Grace in the name of God. I know I wronged you. I almost died paying that crime back. I have been through hell and back. My life is worthless without you. I know it would be hard for you to forgive me but I will try my best to make up to you all my mistakes. If you can find it in your heart to forgive me and let me make it up to you”.

Grace said nothing but her expression was still doubtful. This doubtful expression was still playing on her face the next few till a little boy of about 3 walks in to them robbing his eyes. Grace was up in a flash going to the boy “have u woken up? The little boy said “yes mummy, uncle Henry woke me up”.

Chido gasped saying “….mummy, oh no. Am I too late. Have I already lost you before I even had the chance to try” and he slumped on the nearest sit tiredly and dejected.

Grace chuckled her face brightening and she said “his your son dummy”. Chido looked up into her eyes them into the eyes of the little boy who was his carbon copy. Kneeled down by the boy as Grace held the boy to her saying “Mario this is your father Chido. Chido your son Mario”.

Chido held his boy to him, tears welling up in his eyes. He cried for the first time after a long time. Atlast he had could live but not just yet. He turns to Grace, questions in his eyes. She told him them “you hurt me real bad”. Chido replied “I know promise u my life. I will spend it making it up to you”. Grace was in his arms then and as they kissed she said “I missed you baby”.
……………………….
A small dark figure stood smoking in the dark and in the rain. It was pouring like crazy and had been doing so since noon. One could hardly make out his features, only the light of his cigarette briefly highlighted his lean frame.
He stood there as a posh entourage of cars drove by him and halted. The door to the stretch black Huma opened and he got in.
Inside the car was deem but the small figure could make out the large features of Haj Abubakar.

The Haj spoke up “please make yourself comfortable. Take any drinks you want from the bar” but the small figure silently refused. The Haj pursued briefly then spoke again “You were of great service to my organisation during the Port-Harcourt issue and of much greater service during the Warri misfortune. The information you received from Idahosa and your mole helped us crush them but it is a pity they were too resilient. You also helped us pick out your people that could be trouble one by one till we had them all killed. It was a wonderful job you did but I want to know. How come we still don’t have Chief Tome-Iberie’s son Tonie or that journalist’s son that you people call Black Mamba? What of those their small friend that killed my Ibinabo? I want all of them killed”.

The small figure replied “yes, I am working on it. Don’t forget I had to fake my death after your people started picking our boys up one by one. I had to so that I can stay in the shadows and organize your team. We will get them all. Tonie and his boys briefly left the country but they have returned. We briefly lost sight of Chido for a whole year and half till he resurfaced then we found out he had gone for his IT. None of them will survive after am done with them. We will start with Chido and I intend to plan his death in the next two months”.

Haj Abubakar asked “why the next two months”?

The small figure replied “that’s when he is graduating. He will return to school for his convocation and them your boys will finish him”.

Haj Abubakar smiled now and then said “that is just like my boy Ibinabo would have done it. I would miss him. He was like a son to me. I am looking for someone to take the place he left behind in my organisation. I need someone that would command respect and would heed my word as an order. He has to be blindly loyal and committed”.

The small figure answered “If you are looking for someone then I am your man. I can replace Ibinabo but I would make sure you don’t regret trusting me”.

Haji Abubakar replied “Welcome to my organisation, Python”.
