Ben cut in “…….4 ur sake just pray that girl u let go doesn’t ever surface anywhere cos if they find out she is alive u have just sentenced us all to death”.

Chido went white as if he just saw a ghost. Ben continued angrily “……..I mean what where u thinking. This could get bad fast. I had to silence Akpati immediately he told me. I put a bullet in his head cos if he had told that story to Lawrence or our host they would have done away with us”.

Ben continued “u are in a dangerous game and u still dont know the rules of the game u are playing. U are playing with fire and will get burnt if u are continue like this”.

During all the epistle Chido said nothing nor did he reply.

He just knew he was in trouble. He had been found out by the person he had least expected to know. He knew he had to turn things around fast cos if and when Ben reported him, his life will be forfeit.

The buss they were travelling in was doing at a brisk pace. They had already left Onitsha far behind and were on their way to Benin when all the tyres of the luxurious buss blew up. It was still very early in the morning.

One minute Chido was in confusion thinking what he was going to have to do about Ben the next minute a loud Booooooooooooooom made him almost jump outa his skin as most of the passengers echoed in Unison “…….JESUS……..”.
The buss swerved both right and left as the driver tried to control a loosing battle. Luckily or unluckily for them they where on flat road but on the far side of the road was a gully.

The buss found just that gully and swerved right into it to a stop, then rolled and tilted on its side to rest there.

Though the gully was on the side of the road but it lay hidden under tall trees and thick bushes that one could easily not notice it was there.

In their case after the buss rested there only a portion of its rare end was still visible.
