“Thanks for everything Alex. I can’t thank you enough for giving me all you gave me.

Thanks a whole lot” Tola said with her lovely eyes staring into mine.

“Don’t mention Princess. Anything for you, you deserve the whole world” I countered.
I stared into her eyes and saw complete adoration radiating off of them.

“Goodnight. We’ll see tomorrow” She said swiftly,

turning back to return to her house. I held her hand and pulled her back to face me, my
face was inches away from hers.

“Goodnight Princess. I just wanted to tell you again that you mean the whole world to me. I’ll love you forever and always”

She smiled and removed her hand gently from my tight grip. She waved me bye and walked to her house with a small travelling box wheeling behind her.

We had just arrived from Dubai. “Oga, time don dey go” the cab man that conveyed
us from the airport screamed. I heaved a sigh and hopped into the car.


Forty minutes later, The cab pulled in front of my
house and I alighted with my travelling bag.

“How much is your fare?” I asked, retrieving my wallet from my bag.

“Na two thousand naira” He said, eyeing me speculatively.


I shot him a heated glance and gave him the money.


He reversed and sped off, spreading dust in the air.


“Welcome sir!” My gatekeeper greeted.


“How Dubai” he asked, helping me to carry my bag inside. “Dubai was fine, thanks”

I settled down on the couch tiredly and muttered
some prayers to God for journey mercies.


“Please, before you go can you help me get a plate of rice from foodco down the road?” I asked as my famished tummy made a funny sound. “Sure thing sir, you no need to ask na. Why I no go go?” He grinned, flashing his brown coloured teeth. I smiled and handed him one thousand naira note.


“Thanks”
