Must Read: Forever And Always

Adetola placed her hand on my forehead and sighed.

“You are having fever Alex” she said softly.

After narrating everything to her, she had felt nothing but pity for me, she wiped off my tears with her shirt and pulled me into her warm embrace. I sobbed so hard in her arms. “Please don’t you ever leave me. You are my living Kate” I had said, still in tears. She wrapped her hands around me, making me sniff in her lovely cologne. I looked up to see if she would say anything, she just kept mute.

I guessed she was still trying to take in what I just told her. “You have to go change from your suits” she had said, lifting me up in the most gentle manner. She wiped away dried tears at the corner of my mouth with her hand.

It was 2:14am. “You have to change into something comfy too” I said, looking at her eyeball to eyeball.

“No, I’ll be fine. Besides, it’s almost morning” “It’s just 2am. Please come with me, let me give you a T-shirt” I offered.

She shrugged and followed me to my room.

“Nice room you’ve got” she started once we got into my room.

I smiled and opened my wardrobe, rummaging through it for a long enough shirt to give her. “You have to rest Alex. You don’t look too good, you cried a bucket of water already. You must be tired” she spoke softly. I found a shirt and gave it to her.

“You can change in the room next to this” I said, falling on the bed with a loud thud.[B] “Thanks”. She muttered and left the room quietly.

After a while, I heard the sound of glasswares clattering against one another. I stood up, changed into slate gray sweat pants and left my chest bare. I then walked to the kitchen to see Tola busy in her search for ingredients. I stood behind her and cleared my throat. Tola startled and turned to face me. She gaped and swallowed a physical lump in her throat as she took in the sight of my bare chest. I didn’t have six packs but I had pretty cool abs and well formed torso.

“Am sorry I don’t have a shirt on, I was feeling hot” I apologized and moved closer.
I joined her in finishing the cups of tea she was making and headed towards my room. She followed suit without an objection. She just kept giving me a deadpan look.

“Tola..” I groaned awkwardly after downing the content of the cup before me.

“I love you. Please don’t leave me” I absentmindedly said. She stared at me with so much love yet uncertainty in her eyes.

“I know it’s too early to get into a relationship with me and you are scared because you just got out of one. I understand you but please, don’t leave me for another” I pleaded with my eyes drilling into hers for the umpteenth time. “Have I told you how beautiful you are?” I found myself asking.
“What?” She questioned back. “Have I told you that you are beautiful? You are gorgeous” I said, smiling, almost as if I was in a delirious haze.

“Hmm” that was all she managed to say
“Come closer” I beckoned on her to move closer to me. I was on the bed while she was sitting on the plush red rug with a cup of tea in her hand. She finished the tea and crept into the bed, Just beside me. “I told you, you were beautiful right?” I questioned again, this time, tucking the strands of hair that escaped from the big bun she had tied them behind her ears.

Blushing lightly, she nodded.
