“Boom!” “How…” “boom!” “dare…” “boom!” “you…” boom!” “talk…”
”boom!” “to..” “boom!” “me..” boom!” “like…” “boom!” “that?”
Lazarus poured rain of blows on Meshach’s face accompanying each hit withwords.
Meshach winced in pain but quickly leapt up also, grasping
Lazarus’s neck and hauling him to the ground. Meshach roared
menacingly and then pounced on Lazarus.

“I’m older than you old man, so I’m more powerful too.”
He groaned as he
brought his fist up to hit him. But Lazarus outsmarted him as he swiftly
twisted his head, ducking Meshach’s hit and then immediately sent one
uppercut to his chin, the uppercut was so brutal that it sent Meshach flying
in the air before thrashing his back on the ground.

“You are older, but I’m more aggressive.” Lazarus grunted, as he speedily
reached for Meshach’s phone, delved out his phone from his pocket and
sped of the cabin.

On getting to a far distance from the cabin, he searched for Khalid’s
number on Meshach’s phone, and then tried it. He felt very stupid for
letting Khalid slipped out of his hands like that. He just wished he picked
up the call, then he could tell him that his father needed saving, and he was
the only person needed to find him and perhaps, save him.

Happiness mounted his face as the called was picked.

“Khalid where are you?” he said exasperatedly.

Tamara stared at Jamal’s picture, and she felt her heart chuckled. This was
the man her heart longed for. The love she had for Khalid was still intact
though, and she didn’t intend tampering with it. But then, Khalid was dead
and gone. He couldn’t be with her anymore, so that was the bitter truth she
needed to digest in which she already did. She would mourn Khalid for the
rest of her life. That was an epic person like him and the father of her only
daughter deserved and she was willing to give. She would mourn, love
and cherish him forever; nevertheless, she would allow her heart to also
fall for whoever it deemed fit to fall for. Someone like Jamal for instance
was the lucky person her heart chose and she wouldn’t drag it neither
would she restrain it.

“You are staring at him like he is some Greek god. I know he is the reason
you are going back to that evil town.”
Hilton blurted, throwing her a lour
look.

Tamara eyeballed him. “Whatever you think Hilton, all I know is that he
has gotten my heart.”
She said, tucking the picture into her pocket. “And
mind you, I’m not going over there to run after Jamal. I’m going there to
m0an Khalid. Today makes it 16th year I lost him.”
she blurted and left him.
Hilton scoffed at Tamara’s flimsy excuse, ugly feeling of hurt surged
through him. Who was she deceiving? Even the ghost of biblical prophet
Elijah could predict she was going there to hunt for his brother. Well, he
couldn’t rule out the fact she might also be going there to lament Khalid considering the love she had for him but then he was sure Tamara was still
going to hunt down Jamal, and when she did, Jamal would fall in love with
her. That was something he wasn’t going to accept.

“Uncle.” Amanda called out to him and strolled towards him dejectedly.

“Why are you sad, Amanda?” he asked, feigning concerned.

Amanda stopped right in front of him and threw him a nerveless stare.
“Mom told me Jamal is your brother.”

Hilton swerved his head towards Tamara’s who was sitting on a chair,
obviously ignorance of what was going between his daughter and him.

“Yes, he is my foster brother.” He nodded on returning his face back to her.

Amanda swallowed hard, maintaining her nerveless stare. “Does he have a
daughter? I mean do you have an idea if he has a daughter.”

Hilton scoffed, put his hands akimbo and pranced towards her. He starred
at her. “No, I’m very sure he doesn’t have any single child.” He lied, he
was sure Amanda was Jamal’s daughter. He just didn’t want to lose his
chances on Tamara and moreover, happiness was the last thing he wished
for Jamal right now. “By the way what makes you think he has a
daughter?”

“Because I think he is my father.”
Amanda pouted. Hilton busted into wild
jape trying to delude Amanda.

“You know mom always talked about the talisman on her neck that it was
given to her by a long-time friend,”
she asked.

Hilton nodded. “Yes I do, so what happens to it?” he said, gorging down
the restiveness tempting to jump out of his face.

“The other day we were coming to Westward, I saw Jamal with the pair of
talisman on his neck. And ii..”

“Ssshhhh..”
Hilton quickly gestured to Amanda to stop talking. Amanda
halted her mouth also while Hilton dragged her to the hallway where
Tamara wouldn’t be able to hear their conversation.

“Have you told your mom about what you just told me?’ He asked almost
in a whisper.

Amanda shook her head. “No I haven’t.?” She said while an evil grin
perched on Hilton’s face. “Should I?”
“Noooooo, you don’t have to because what you saw it’s not true. And
moreover, trust me you don’t want to be Jamal’s daughter. He is evil and
please don’t be deceived by whatever thing he might have done to you to
that starts making you get ideas you are his daughter.”

Amanda wore a glunch look. “Ok.” She nodded, albeit not believing all he
said.
